Battle of the Books

I
am having second thoughts about having Lucas participate in Battle of
the Books. The first book in the reading list is called Bud, Not
Buddy. The main character lies throughout the story. I
asked Lucas if the story ends in Bud knowing that he should tell the
truth. Lucas said no. I'm sure this would not be a book I'd
have him read on our own. He will be disappointed for not
continuing on with the class. Maybe I can do something fun with
our own reading list.
