Feb. 9, 2007 - Me

I know that it's not popular to admit, depending on which circles you're travelling with...but I have been feeling a real need to get back in touch with me.  As a mom it's so easy to keep pushing "you" aside until it's forgotten somewhere.  Yes, I am called to be a mom, and it's a wonderful, high, God-given calling.  But I am more than a diaper changer and a boogey wiper!  I'm a mom...but that is one aspect of my life.  I'm also a wife...and a woman.  I know I have gifts and talents that God gave to me to use for his purpose...I just can't remember what they are right now.  LOL

I'm sure part of this goes hand in hand with this time of my life.  All my littles are still pretty little.  But I hate feeling like "me"...the kinda crazy, art-loving, music-making, dreaming of scuba-diving and mountain-climbing me...is getting lost in the laundry pile.

Feb. 10, 2007 - those titles

You have empathy from me. A few years ago I starting looking at being a mom and even a wife as tasks that the Lord has given me in this life - but I'm actually first ME, the God-created human creature, created to serve Him in many capacities, the top earthly ones, wife and mother, but I am not limited to those titles. I don't really know how to explain my thoughts but maybe you understand, since you are in this mode.

I think I do kind of understand what you mean. It sounds very much like what I'm trying to express. It's a little hard to wrap my head around though...even to accept it...because it's so opposite to what I've been taught is traditionally acceptable of a Christian wife and woman.

It's nice to know though that somebody understands.

While I understand what you are saying, I would also like to encourage you to remember that this time in your life as "mommy of small ones" is just a season and that you ARE using your gifts and talents to be the mommy that God has called you to be!
My prayers are with you as you explore this further in light of eternity!
Blessings,
Christine
