Homegrown

• Aug. 25, 2005 - These are a few of my favorite things....

Mr.Clean Magic Erasers- I used one this morning to wipe down my grungy door frames and walls. It looks like a new coat of paint. It also got rid of permanent marker on my mark it map. Yay!!!

Marilyn Howshall-Her approach (lifestyleoflearning.org) has brought freshness to my weary homeschool soul.

4:30 AM-ahhh....I never thought I'd say this. But having 2 hours to myself in a quiet house to pray and read and write has done so much to refresh me and draw me closer to my true love-God!

Everything bagels-mmmmm....toasted w/ butter and a nice cup of english tea.

I already know I'm going to love your blog, because we like the same things (bagels and clean walls) and we have the same problems (getting the house under control, and keeping it there!). We even have kids the same ages (mine are 10, 8, 5, and 2). I'm not there with you on the 4:30am thing, but wish I could get myself to do it. Do you ever read Laines Letters? http://www.lainesletters.com . She gets up then, too, and is very inspiring.

Thank you for mentioning one of your favorite authors and her site. I always need a new recommendation to help this hopeless cause (well, okay, I have "hope" through God, but you know what I meant!).

Thanks for visiting my blog today and commenting!

While I do love the magic eraser, I must warn you to not make the mistake I did. I have a black, gas stove. I was scrubbing what I thought to be dirtiness around the burners...but in actuality, I ended up scrubbing the shiny coating off the top of my stove. I thought the dullness was dirt and just made the problem worse by scrubbing and scrubbing! I know, dumb on my part. Just be careful with any shiny surfaces, okay?

Not I'm off for some bagels (toasted with butter) and herbal tea...mmmmm...

God bless you,
Marsha
