Ramblings

~ Jun. 5, 2009 - Paper Toys

Posted in Websites
Today in the Homeschool Freebie Friday email from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, Jamin shared a lot of paper toys links. I noticed that she suggested one that I'd just found a couple of weeks ago for my dd to use with kids she babysits. When she babysits, she takes a book and some kind of toy or craft and some page to color too. Sometimes she even takes some video that goes with it in some way. This helps her have something to do with the kids to keep all of them from getting bored.

She took the book "Puppy On the Farm" and used the Farm Play Set, this is one that Jamin' also found/suggested. There was no puppy in the set so she took one of her little puppies that she got with some Barbie.

Here is a paper "toy" website that I have found in the past. It is by the Canon website and has some really great paper "toys" for the older kids. They have pop-up ABC's that I think I will make for my nieces. I would call a lot of them paper models. They have a lot of animals; dinosaurs and insects are in the science section. I wish they had more US buildings but at least they are not ALL from Japan, they have some from England, France, Spain, Egypt and even India. These could be great when studying other countries, especially with older kids, unless YOU make them for the younger ones to see. They even have a scrapbook section. Go look around; I think you'll find something you like.

Have a great day,

About Me

(Me and my dd, Tiffany on an easy to climb tree limb on vacation in VA in 2007.) These are my ramblings on homeschooling and whatever else comes to mind.

Counting Down

The Holidays are over and I'm not quite ready to start a new count down yet. Maybe I should start a counting up the number of days I've stayed on my "diet".
