• Sep. 16, 2008 ~ LucyLillie is potty-training
This was posted at Mommy's blog on September 8th.
LucyLillie is potty-training. Is that exciting or what? She is 17m old (yesterday), and goes potty all day and wakes up dry. We have been training her for the few past months. Caleb was potty-trained last January and February when he was so sick and all I could do to make him comfortable was give him something to drink and take him potty. That was a constant thing, so he got potty-trained pretty quick.
I am enjoying training Lucy and sitting her on her little potty seat on the big toilet. It has been rather cute. She loves to go on the potty. We give her just enough praise, and she thinks it is great and can even make herself go. If I wake up in the middle of the night for any reason, I go ahead and take her potty too, and she has been dry at night while wearing underwear alone! I am so happy!
You might think that after having 8 children, I would be an expert potty-trainer. Alas, it is not so. Partly due to the fact that I already am potty-trained, and I am really the only one I can absolutely, for-sure control the potty-training with. We do currently have 2 in night diapers, but recently, Caleb and LucyLillie are NOT in nighttime diapers.
Caleb is now a big boy who goes in all by himself and goes potty like a big boy. I do still remind the Littles to go potty whenever they are outside playing or doing something that takes their attention.
Tips to Potty-Training:
Take them potty. It’s not brain surgery. If I want them to pee on the potty, instead of in their underwear, I need to be on top of it and be the parent and take them potty. PLEASE don’t expect a child who is not potty-trained to know they have to tell you they need to go potty at first. They have to learn to recognize that they have to go, regardless of their age.
Take them potty first thing in the morning. I forgot to take LL potty this morning, and I had to clean up a little mess about 20m later. I won’t forget tomorrow!
Take them potty on a schedule. In the past I have used a few different ways to remind myself to take my children potty. A couple of ways I have used a schedule are to take them in every time I go potty, set a timer for various amounts of time, from 20m to 60m, and I have even had them go in with a sibling. Amanda was good at taking a younger sibling into the potty with her.
Take the diaper off. We put Caleb and LL in underwear. We had to go into town for a day this week, and I didn’t want to put her into a diaper, but there would be nowhere to rush her to go potty or change her clothes, etc, and I hated to do it, but we did. If they are in a diaper, they WILL use it. If they are in underwear, they are less likely to just pee in it.
Do not load them up on drinks besides water. Children will drink as much water as they need, but if they are offered sugary drinks, such as soda pop or juices, or even milk, they will drink and drink and drink. Giving them a bottle or a sippy cup for them to be in charge of also adds to their drinking more than they likely need to and more accidents in their undies.
Before bedtime take them potty and make sure they do not have an abundance of liquids before they go down for a nap or bedtime.
Now is a great time to get them into the habit of washing their hands after going to the toilet too!
I am actually considering putting the next two older children who are in night diapers into underwear and waking them up at 2-4hour intervals and see if they can get their bodies to recognize when they need to wake up and go on the potty only. They have both woke up to dry diapers. I think it is a matter of having a schedule and a method and sticking to it.
I am thankful for the Lord’s patience and joy during times like this. I used to sweat it. It used to be a big deal to me, but I have learned to look for limitations and reality in times like these. Now, I count it a joy and a time I will look back on and remember when they are older and grown with children of their own. And, oh how time flies. I don’t want to miss it because I am flustered and wishing it over.
James 4:14
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.“

• May. 17, 2008 ~ I'm Feeling Much Better!
LucyLillie here. I am doing a lot better. I went to the Dr.'s office to get me checked out because I was feeling very miserable and I was starting to get a rash on my neck and back. The Dr. checked me out and looked in my ears. He said there was a little redness in there, and thought there might be an ear infection.
He gave Mommy some medicine to help it go away. So I am back to normal. Back to everything: cuteness, cuddliness, crawling, walking, talking, hugging and kissing all my de-ar fam-ily. They all love me so much.
Well, that is all for now. I gotta get off the computer. They say I am taking way to long to write this up. But what can you expect from a 1-year-old in April? I'm doing pretty good, don't you think? :D
Love, RASPBERRY

• May. 7, 2008 ~ You Are My Sunshine - My favorite song!
This is my favorite "sing-to-me" song. Amanda got me hooked on it when she brought home the flower-person, who sings the song. I love joining in on singing it too. I love it when all of my family starts out in a chorus. So, I hope you like it too!
You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are gray.
You'll never know dear,
How much I love you!
Please don't take my sunshine away!
I also like playing Patty Cake with my sisters and brothers. I am learning how to do the "pat" sign, but can clap and roll my hands! Maybe I will post a picture sometime. How would you like that? :)PS. I have four toofers now. My two bottom ones look like one now, because my top ones are so big! I can eat more foods now though. Growing up!

• Apr. 7, 2008 ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCYLILLIE!!
Today, our Little sweetheart is a year old!! We are all in shock. Truly!! This year has really blown by! God is so good in placing this little sweetie in our home.
Lucy, we all hope you have the best birthday today! You are such a joy in our lives.
There will be several tributes to our Little Girlie for her special day, so we will be linking them as they are posted! We will also be adding pictures too!
Happy Birthday Loolie. We are all so proud of you!!
Wow. It has been a year. A year. And I love you more now than I did then, though I don't know how that is possible. It is 3 am here now, on the 7th. Last year at this time, I was just starting to have the hard contractions. I woke up after a bit of rest and woke up the midwife. It was time.

29 minutes later, we met you for the first time. Our little girl. Jocelyn and I knew you were going to be a girl. We were ready for one. You were so tiny. And content. You nursed well and were so sweet. The next weeks were full of joy and trying desperately to figure out a name for you!!
And now, a year later, you are still so sweet and content. I cannot believe a year has passed.
You are such a little baby doll still. So smart and loving.
You let Caleb grab you around the neck and give you all the hugs he wants, and you hardly make a peep.
I love your little delicate fingers and the way you sing with me, reaching the right pitches and stopping and holding the words you can't even speak yet. Your words are only understood by us, but I know you understand so much more than you can tell us yet! We love your aaaah when you say yes and the way you have started shaking your head yes and no.
Had we ever put you down sooner, I am sure you would be running around by now, but we all want to hold you, so it is a small sacrifice.
Besides, to see you stand from crouching is so fun, and you do it so well now. We are anticipating those first real steps.
But don't expect to be put down too much just because you start walking. We will still be holding you all the time!
I cannot even say how you have captured your Daddy's heart. To see his eyes light up and a huge smile on his face each time he sees you and the way he just watches you is priceless.
You simply light up the room, my little darling!
You remind me of each of your brothers and sisters, and it is a joy to have you.

I love to see you raise your hands to go to your sister or lay your head sweetly on Eric's shoulder as he sings to you. What a blessing.
Our times together nursing are so vey precious to me, and they will be kept in my heart forever.
To look into your eyes, to feel your little hand on my face or to watch you doze off to sleep, it is our time, and I love gazing at you.
Thank you Lord, for this precious gift you have given us. Thank you for loaning her to us to teach her and love her and be blessed by her presence. It is truly humbling to know, my dear little Loolie, that you are God's and I get the privilege of having you here. I truly do not deserve you.
I will tell you that you are in great company too. God has filled this home with great children, your sisters and brothers, to love you and teach you and care for you. You will never be alone or unloved. God put you in exactly the right place at the exact right time.
I am still as overjoyed and in love with you, Little Girlie, as I ever was. You are a light in our lives. I can't wait to watch you grow and see what God has planned in your life. I love you my dear. Love you. Love you. Love you!

Happy Birthday Luc!! Such a cutie!! Hearing/reading what your Mom and brothers and sisters have to say about you warms my heart, and makes me remember that same sweet time with my girls.
Hope you like the present that the girls and I got for you. (when you get it that is) It was picked out with all the care and love possible! It had to be just right for "little Lucy" as the girls call you.
Blessings dear sweet child. May this day be a happy one for you, with many more to come!!
Can't wait to meet you and hold you myself!!

Oh that made me tear up. And to think that she was just ONE week old when I held her in my arms, next to her newly forming friend. That very day we discovered our Sani was on her way, too. Special, special memories.
And less than a year later, both girls were at Olive Garden (March) giving kissies and huggies. Is this not the life?

• Mar. 8, 2008 ~ My First Taste of Bananas
November 20, 2007
Hannah wrote this up for me to remember the first day I ate solid foods.

Miss Lillie eats banana and apples and carrots and peas. She likes them a lot. She would like me to mash her some banana so I love to do that. Rachel mashes her some up too. Everyone likes to do that.

Eric's holding Lucy. Mommy fed her it, but Lucy got all messy. She had a bib on so her shirt didn’t get food on it.

These are pictures of Eric holding Lucy and Mommy feeding her.
Mommy asked me to take the picture. I took the picture. I was glad to do that.

Lucy is my favorite Baby Sister. I had to post on my blog. Do you think it is a fun thing to post pictures about your little baby sister. I think it is a good thing to love your baby sister.

Susani Loves YOU, Too, Raspberry
Posted by -Auntie and Sus
Dear Raspberry,
I can't wait to come see you, too! Do you like my new black shoes? They barely fit me and my legs look like little froggy thighs in my Christmas dress. I wish I had as much hair as you do - you have lovely hair. One day my hair might be that pretty, too. Mommy kisses my head too much and it's rubbing the last bit of fuzz I do have. Now I have a baldy spot (thanks, Mama). But I have heard all the best about you, and I can't wait to have our tea parties. My mama is going to buy us each matching teacups so that we can even have tea when we are away from each other. We will just use our matching cups and feel close by each other across the miles. Well, LuLu, I have to go because it's time for my formula. I drink about nine cans a day because I am a total EATER. I eat and eat til I look like a giant slug. Daddy thinks I'm adorable anyway, even when my tummy is SO round from stuffing myself. So I must depart - my formula dinner bell's a ringin' once again - boy that makes me HAPPY!
Love,
Susani Hopi

In awe a family
Gathers ‘round,

• Dec. 8, 2007 ~ I Am Eight Months Old and Standing
I stood up today. All by myself. Oh, and I also turned 8 months old. I can't even count that high. Mom cannot believe it. When I stood up in my crib, I wasn't sure if she was going to cheer or cry. I think she was going to cry. She told me I could not, in any uncertain terms, stand up yet. After all, I am the Baby.
But, I pulled myself up all the same. I even did it twice. I think Mom got over the shock of it now, and I will be able to do it more often without totally freaking her out.
I will have some more pictures of myself real soon. Mom and my brothers and sisters take pictures of me all the time, but I can't put them on Photobucket, so I am kind of at the mercy of their time. I have learned how to smile and blink at the camera. I know what it means when they point it at me, and I can make a really cute smile!
Oh, and Mommy wants me to tell you that I am a good sleeper. I sleep almost all night. I only wake up once, but I sleep with Mommy, so it's ok. I also do real well in my crib when I take naps.
Love, Raspberry

• Nov. 27, 2007 ~ My New Friend Has Arrived
We have all been waiting anxiously for Auntie to have Sus, and now Susanna has come. Here are some pictures of her:
12:27 a.m. on November 27, 2007
5 lbs 14 oz
20 inches
Little bit of hair
We had to pray for Susanna when she was born, because she was 3 weeks early and was having a hard time with her breathing. She was only 5# 14oz., and she was having a hard time keeping her body temp warm enough. Mommy says I had the same problem. I wasn't in the hospital though, so Mommy just held me next to her skin and kept me bundled up. Isn't Susanna beautiful?
For further updates, keep an eye on Paulie's and Levi's blogs!!!
I know Mommy and Auntie are planning on some really fun tea parties for all of us when Sus gets a little older. I can't wait. Paulie, Luke, Levi and Julie, take good care of Little Susanna for us, ok? I can't wait to meet her!
Here I am looking at her pictures for the first time:

• Nov. 2, 2007 ~ What I Am Learning
Here are some things I have been learning to do:
I can get up on my knees and lunge forward to get something.
I like to do 'raspberries" at my sisters' faces.
I love chewing on tags.
I love to be outside.
I love to swing on the porch.
I ate a chip today. No, I didn't eat it, I just stuck it in my mouth, and Mommy took it out! But it was good!
I am still working on sitting up. and I have been identifying family members on blogs!
That is all for now! Leave me lots of comments!

• Oct. 20, 2007 ~ Some Pictures of Me!
Well, it's been such a long time since I blogged last that I thought it was time for an update, so I decided you would all like to see some recent pictures of me. I have quite a few of me (I’m loved that much!) and these are just a few of them.
Two days ago, my older sister Rachel took me out to swing on our porch swing:
I love to be outside! But since there was a small breeze and she didn‘t want me to be cold, so I had to wear my beautiful white with pink flower bonnet Miss Brielle made me (I don’t believe I ever said Thank You, Brielle!) and the afghan Auntie Christina made me when I was born. Isn’t it just BEAUTIFUL? It’s so warm. Thank you, Auntie Christina!
She is also making one for my cousin-to-be Sus. Sus and Luc. Well, actually it would be the other way around, because I’m older than Sus. Luc and Sus. Much better! She has a blog you can visit called Bundled In Prayer. You can have her make you one too. But ask your Mommy if you want one first.
All right, I think that is enough pictures of me for now. Did you enjoy the pictures? I know I’m only 6months old, but I can read my comments, but maybe not able to reply to them. So if anyone wants to comment, go ahead! I love to hear from my admirers!
Back to playing with my toys and chewing on peoples' fingers,
LucyLillie (Raspberry Pixie Muffin)
Thank you, Rachel, who typed this post for me!

• Sep. 5, 2007 ~ A Little About Lucy
We have had requests for more entries, so we are going to put some entries from our other blogs on here about Lucy.
While you are waiting for us to get the many posts up, here are a few things about Lucy:
She *LOVES* her jumpy jumpy.
She can roll over
She loves when Caleb plays with her. Last nite she was laying on top of his belly, pulling his pacifier out of his mouth and they were both cackling. Precious.
She loves to sing.
She likes to eat her toes and other's fingers. Apparently that is what MY fingers are for!!
She is *ALWAYS* smiling!! and still rarely cries.
She *LOVES* to spit up all over my clean clothes.
She always turns when someone laughs to see who is laughing.
She likes to rock in the rocking chair. Especially when Hannie rocks her(that's me!). She always falls fast asleep when I rock her.
OK... We will be getting some of those other posts up for her shortly.

• Jul. 7, 2007 ~ LucyLillie is 3 months old Today
Today, Lucy is 3 months old. My, did I say 3 months old?

Time sure does fly, doesn't it? It's been a different kind of fun this time, since Lucy is a "blogworld baby", and everyone loves her so, though most of you haven't even met her!
Ok, well, I don't blog about our children near as much as I should, so I am going to take time to update Our Little Lu and all she is doing.
I wish you could see her talk. She is a real talker. She looks you right in the face and just talks and coos. She also loves to sing. If you sing to her, she will hum right along with you!
She has the sweetest dimples. Have you seen them? Which brings me to the point that I think she is the happiest baby I have ever seen. I really mean it. She has only cried a handful of times since she was born. She is usually smiling. She will tell me if she is going to be grumpy. I can hear it in her urgency that I come and get her. But, she doesn't cry even then.
She has recently started to suck her thumb. She found it when she was only a few days old, and I am constantly having to take it out of her little mouth now. She is teething, though.. I know for a fact!
She has held her head up since the first day she was born. When I had her on my shoulder, she pulled her head up immediately. Now she lifts her head when she is on her belly, of course, and she also "follows" you with her eyes as you walk around her. She is very alert!
I'm sure she would have rolled over by now - if we ever put her down for long!
She knows who Mommy is. When she wants me, she will search the room for me. She knows who Daddy is, too, even though she doesn't see him very much. The relationship that is already there is a mystery to me. Sometims Daddy doesn't get to hod her when she is awake, yet, you can tell by the way she talks to him, she knows he is Daddy. Ahhhh... God is good.
Can you tell how sweet she really is??

Ok, I know I probably forgot several things you want to know and it's because they are just normal everyday Lucy- things to us. I am sure I will be editing this post!
blessings! -Jacque

I don't blame you on the thumb..my nieces have beautiful teeth now..after much money spent..they too were thumb suckers and had some pretty messed up teeth. I didn't allow any of my boys to suck their thumbs and pacifers went in the trash by 4 months of age. But every parent has their own way of parenting.

Little Lucy Raspberry is getting big! She is 11 weeks old. Ok, she's not really getting big; she's just getting more aware of her surroundings. She is watching everything! She loves sitting outside on the porch swing. She is becoming a real talker, and she loves to sing and be sung to. What a blessing we have been given to know her.

• May. 7, 2007 ~ Lucy Has An Official Name, Finally
In honor of her 1 month birthday - yes, she is 1 month old today - we have decided to announce her name - officially, we think. This has been fun - and nerve-wracking, actually. Really, I mean it. Nerve-wracking.
I have no idea why naming this beautiful little Babe has been such a problem and a big deal. It never took this long before. It took us 3 days to name Hannah. It took us maybe 3-4 days to name Isaac and Caleb. Maybe. I know, I know, you have been wondering why it has taken us so long too. Sorry. I am still hesitant to post her names even now. Maybe I have grown too worried about others' opinions - though I can't imagine that's the case. Maybe it's because Matt is still saying, "Sure, that's fine." instead of, "Yes. That is what I want to name her." He does agree with this, though. Maybe it's because we have too many opinions in this family, because we have more children; that's it.
You know Amanda doesn't like the name Lucy, really. Everyone else thinks Lillie and Lucy are fine. When Paul and Gena et al. came, she decided it would be Lucy. Period. That just strengthened Amanda's decision that she wanted Lillie.
We thought we would have to choose one or the other and come up with a different middle name, so I agreed to Avigail (after vetoing Abigail, I just found another form). So, we were there, deciding, deciding. Asking Matt daily... nightly... in-between-ly. Nothing. No decisions. I said, fine, we'll just go ahead with LucyLillie. We had gotten so used to hearing them together, they sounded natural. Not sure. No YES from Matt. I said, Ok, your Daddy likes Lucy Avigail. That's her name.

I've enjoyed reading Lucy Lillie's blog! Three names is most certainly earned and very pretty! I love her Raspberry nickname, too! You are so blessed to have eight beautiful children! That was my original number but alas, my life didn't work out that way. I'll just be content with my two. What a wonderful way to celebrate such a beautiful child! My prayers are with you all this holiday season.

Well, homeschooling has taken a, um, turn for my Mom and my sisters and brothers... good thing we do it all year-round. This is what everyone is mostly doing as of late: holding me!
Enjoying Baby Girl (Raspberry PixieMuffin)

This past week, we have also been: changing diapers and caring for a new Baby Girl,
playing chess (Jocelyn wanted to practice up to play Luke Suarez - Paulie and Levi got in on the chess challenge, too),
learning more about milking goats and storing raw milk (wanna buy some?), drawing and studying birds we see at the feeders,
learning life's lessons about setting a good example as a big brother, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, because we were expecting company, preparing for Grandma's visit,
caring for our seedlings & planning for the garden;
Learning about training horses,
figuring out a way for Amanda to pay for her vet bill...
Ok, that has to fit into some learning category, because she sure is learning life's lessons about:
Ok, so, some of this seems a little silly... isn't it fun?how expensive horses can be;
how expensive horse feed can be;
having 2 horses is *twice* as expensive as having one!!!;
you *have* to call the vet (Dr.) when the animals are sick;
you can't always take people at their word... and even if they aren't 'trying' to lie, they just may not know what they are talking about!;
get an expert when making a major purchase!
To think, I used to spend all of my time watching tv and movies, scrapbooking, spending time with friends away from home, leading ministries to others (than my own family), going out to eat... I am so much happier in the barn with our children and their animals, researching all the new homestead-y things we are learning and teaching our daughters to be Keepers at Home! We are all so happy with what God has given us at this time in our lives. I am so thankful to be home with this new Little Bundle, loving her with all 7 of her siblings, learning about God and His Word together as we walk and talk together!!
Be Blessed today! -Jacque

We do love the name Pixie Muffin! But Pixie Dixon?
Whatever you decide, it would make a great nickname. Trust Jen for that! :-)
The girls and I have had fun trying to come up with names for your sweet baby. We think if you have another son you should name him Mason, Mason Dixon. ;-)

I've been having so much trouble accessing my blog lately that I missed the news of your new baby. Congratulations, I'm a little envious, I would love to have a new little one to enjoy, but I'm plenty busy enjoying my bigger ones. Good luck with the name choosing, in my house it would be unthinkable not to give the child a name right away, but I like your method. In the Bible they named the baby on the 8th day, the day of circumcision.Permanent Link

I'm really keen on the name, "Raspberry." What do you think? She kinda looks like a little berry, doncha think? Tomorrow when I show up, we'll sit down and hammer this out for good. Let's see, if we don't go with Raspberry, what about Evangeline? Serendipity-doo? Creme Brulee?
Just don't name her "Flame Blower" or anything .... because that would be just weird. Seriously. That's strange.Permanent Link

Hi Jacque and family!
I tried to stop by and leave a comment the other day but my comment would not post. Your daughter is so beautiful and she is such a blessing I know!! You must be so happy!!
We hope to get together with you in the near future. You are only about 2.5 hours from us so we can come and visit you guys sometime. Also you can come and visit us out here on the farm. We moved 4 miles away from our other house to a farm that we have named Heritage Farm.
Well, have you picked a name yet?? Let me know as soon as you do!!
I love the name Shayna which is Hebrew for beautiful. Your little blessing is certainly beautiful!! I also love the name Shira which is song in Hebrew. I love Hebrew names which begin with the “sh” sound which is a Shin. This is the letter which symbolizes Shaddai which is symbolic of our Master and Lord.
Blessings to you and your beautiful family!!

Posted by LadyRachel at 2:54 PM
Aww! I saw the picture of the new little baby girl! She looks so adorable. I can't believe she doesn't have a name yet! She found her thumb? She has a lot in common with me. *YAY*
I guess if I was ever asked to name a baby girl, I'd probably choose Elizabeth. (Which I think someone already recommended.) I think it means "God directed" or something. That's always been my *favorite* name. I just like that it's a classic, biblical, pretty and feminine name. Some people think it's too long, and shorten it to Eliza, Beth, or Lizzie sometimes. (Which some nicknames are pretty, but others may not agree.) Well, I guess another reason I like it is because it's my little sister's name, and I love Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. And it can also be used as a middle name, if not a first name. I think it also goes well with most people's last names. (Of course, it could already be someone else's middle name in your family, lol!) Oh yeah, and I like the names Victoria as well. =) I also noticed that she was born right before Easter, which is kind of interesting...
Oh, by the way, I'm not signed in to my blog which is: homeschoolblogger.com/LadyRachel
GOD BLESS,

• Apr. 13, 2007 ~ How Long DO You Have To Name The Baby?
Gee Whiz... Like we *have* to name our sweet little darling beautiful girl? She's only going to be a week old tomorrow! You people are so-o-o impatient!! ( ; No one likes Pixie Muffin, huh? I think it is adorable. If it was Hebrew (or an actual name), I might try to convince Matt it suits her. Amanda and Jocelyn have gotten so many name suggestions on their blogs, and I am sorry for any anxiety we are causing to our family and friends like Blogboy and totutuus, who *really* want us to name her. I have a few friends at homesteadblogger who are patiently waiting, too! So, here are a few of the suggestions....
Grandma Starr- What a sweetie........ I still like the name Regina..........
I know you do, Mom! (It was my Grandma's middle name)
Grandma Debbie- she is so pretty!!!!! HOW ABOUT KAYLA ANN
Uncle Ken- How about BB G. Dixon for Beautiful Baby Girl
"Auntie" Gena- how about emerson? isn't that the coolest girl name?? or ella....or maybe amarys (ah-merris)......did you want me to just name her? i don't mind....really. a;dlkjfladjflsjd and, then: Lydia, Priscilla, Sarai, Mara, Naomi, Zion (that's a cool name), Danielle, Fiona, Gabrielle, Karena
by quietcajun : What about a name that MEANS beautiful like Bonita, Linda, or Bella? :) I still like MY name best... Christina "follower of Christ"!
by Rhen : You could name her Pure Sweetness! Such a cutie. I like the name Charlotte. That was in our top 3 for our new ones name but Susannah won out with darling daddy so that is what he named her. Congrats!
by Jonash2004 : She is so precious! My vote is Emma. :) I'm so excited for November!!!! Ashley
by countryheart : She is just the most precious little thing! Congratulations on your little girl. I'm glad your labor went so fast. I think Tina Marie would be a charming name! Get rest and enjoy! Love, Tina
by DarthYxpu : You should name her Polly!!! Yes??? I mean, she looks just like me (kinda). Therefore her personality is just like mine! So, you should name her after me! Ah, come on, It’d be cute!
by BlogBoy: Now your going to name the baby Erica after me right? =D Oh, and they’ve decided to name the baby Erica after me, Right? I agree with sylvia, Name The BABY!We have been through name lists over and over. We have a couple of favorites. I just can't commit.... boohoo. Daddy is about no help. He is so picky, I don't think he likes any particular name!!![]()
by Rach : Here are a few first and middle name suggestions (some are from my sister): Anna, Cherish, Hannah, Melody, Bethany, Grace, Sophia/Sofia (Sophie), Lucy, Kristen, Natalie. That's what we can think of. I'm rooting for Anna. :) nbsp; I'm Jane and I don't have a blog but I'm kind of a friend of a friend and I always enjoy reading your entries. I think you should name the baby Grace or maybe Emma!
by totustuus : predicting from all the names in your family already...I'd say Rebekah would fit right in, but I don't know your name preferences. ;-) And I am really starting to get impatient about little No-name Dixon...Lol I'm sure she is adorable!!
by BookFreak : I like... Bridget.... and Lynn.... *grin* But i doubt that you'll need any help picking a name... Kanasy was Kanasy from the beginning... but Nekoda was Zach, and Seth, and a whole bunch of other names before we picked one to keep!
by BrielleCostumes : Congratulations on the new little hobbit!….
I’m glad she is doing well. I think the name Emma is really cute..:)
by weesma : Our suggestion for a name (actually Heather came up with it) is Mary, a nice old-fashioned and Biblical name. Mrs. P.
by Earthling's mom : and she told me you were looking for a name for your beautiful new baby girl.
I know it's getting a bit common, but Lily is a pretty name for a baby born on Easter weekend, because of the Easter Lily tradition. Rose reminds us of the resurrection. So, I vote for Lily Rose (even if I do have my very own Lila Rose!).
by Narniagirl : I personally like the name Elizabeth (or you can spell it the British way, which I prefer: Elisabeth) which I believe means "gift of God". I also like Hannah and Marie (as a middle name).
And, I am working on the birth story.... even with only "30m of hard labor", it won't be *that* short!! Yeah, we'll see how *easy* Jocelyn thinks 30m of labor is when the time comes!! LOL!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of the well-wishings and blessings!
Blessings!
-Jacque

I never got to use Gloria. It brings to mind giving glory to God. All my husband could think of was that character in "All in the Family" That nixed that!!! humph. But I love the name we chose instead: Christine.

I know, I am really bad. I said that you should name her way to many times! =P I'm not exactly over here waiting for you to name the baby though, I just ask like every time I talk to one of you Dixons, because you might have named her, and decided not to tell me! Lol, just kidding! I think I like Kayla Ann Dixon, that sounds nice! I'm sure you and your husband will pick out a good sounding name though.
I was at the convention today, and all of these mothers coming to our table had little babies! They where so cute! Now I need to come see your cutie! I'm thinking we might come this month, but I don't know. I don't really know anything, I'm just supposing. =D

Dear Lucy,
Just for the record...Is your official name 3 names or two?
Is it
Lucy Lillie Avigail
OR
Is it
LucyLillie Avigail?
I've been spelling LucyLillie like a compound name with no space! I hope I haven't been spelling it wrong these past 7 months!!!

• Apr. 7, 2007 ~ The Lord Has Blessed Us With A New 'Dixon "Chick"'...
This morning at 3:29am, on April 7th, Mom's due date, a new little blessing entered our home. It was a sweet, precious, and very quiet little girl! She was 6# 11oz. She is 1# 1oz bigger than I was! We didn't measure her yet, we forgot, so I don't have any kinds of those things for you! When the assistant comes on Monday, she'll measure her!
I had been sent to bed after the midwife came, so I could be rested for the birth, they thought I wouldn't be able to get up in time to see the birth. Well, I don't know what woke me, but Eric and Hannah were running down the stairs, actually flying down, I should say! But as I came to the bottom, they were just lifting her up to Mom! I was not down here when she came out, so I didn't get to see her come out!
When they announced she was a girl, I was surprised! I thought for sure she would be a boy, even thought I really wanted a girl...I thought she would be a boy when she came out! We all thought Caleb would be a girl but, lo and behold, he wasn't! Isaac said she would be a girl and last time, with Caleb, he said she would be a girl, and he was wrong, so we thought she was a boy! But I'm so happy she is a girl! I really wanted a girl!

My Birth Announcement to The World
Here is a pic of the SWEETIE!! This is the best we can get off Mom's camera!!

The newest Dixon is here... It is a BABY GIRL!!
She was born at 3:29 am on her due date... She is nursing WELL!! She is an adorable, sweet, precious thing... She has not cried yet, but we have heard her beautiful voice... SHE is so tiny!!
She weighs six pounds eleven ounces. She has tiny little feet, which we stamped onto a paper.
Amanda got to hold her first (besides mom). She is making 'baby noises' and everyone is looking at her.
Mom is doing GREAT!! Had a pretty easy birth... it was actually only about 30min of actual labor...
The midwife is helping Mom get cleaned up right now so she should be laying down with the baby soon.
We don't have any names or suggests right now...but we were right - it was a GIRL!
Mom will be on here as soon as she is rested (we're pretty sure)... Just wanted to let you all know!!

• Apr. 7, 2007 ~ Pregnancy Update...
Posted on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:15 AM
My due date is today, the 7th. My water broke just before 11pm, and contractions are steady and more than likely productive.
It is now 2am and I am having a hard time walking through them. {though I can write through them =0)}
My midwife went ahead and drove here because she lives an hour away and, of course there is snow on the ground! She is resting and I am making some tea.
More updates later…
Blessings,
J…

• Dec. 14, 2006 ~ Still Looking For a Midwife and Baby Moments
This is not a classified, really... But, we are still looking for a midwife. I have a good friend who has delivered at home, and she is getting me a few names. I also called another Mom I know a bit, and she is going to stop in at her neighbor's, who has used a local midwife. We are about 24 weeks along, and I hope we can find someone we click with pretty soon.
Our midwife who helped deliver Isaac and Caleb moved - of all places - to Tennessee! I found that out before we were expecting again, but not much before.
We really loved the midwife we had because she did not practice "office medicine". She was about letting the body work naturally and using natural herbs and such that will help your body without drugs and tests. She knew a lot about birth, because she was a nurse (I think an RN) and she had helped deliver so many babies, including several sets of twins, at home. She was gentle and made us feel comfortable with the whole process, even when I went to her at 7 months pregnant with our 6th for our first home birth. It was wonderful.
I don't really have problems with my birthing, so it wasn't necessary to use the drugs or do all the tests, anyway.
However, now, here we are again, looking for someone else. I hated it before, and I hate it now. After we had delivered Hannah, our 5th, in the hospital naturally, the Dr. I really liked had retired to be the hospital administrator, so we had to search and search for a Dr. with Isaac. When he delivered Hannah, he had basically told the nurses to let me do what I wanted (no IV, etc..) so it wasn't so "managed" by the hospital.
Considering everything midwives in Indiana are going through, I hope it isn't too hard to find one. We have to keep trusting that the Lord already has that plan taken care of, and He will show us who He has for us.
I told Matt and the girls that the Babe will probably be born around 11pm. That is when movement picked up last week. Of course, not it has been around 6 or 8 pm (and 11) for the past few days. Matt asked if I meant 11am or pm. I said pm. I'm not sure if he wants to make sure to get in a good night's sleep before the birth or after, so he can go to work the next day! HA HA! you never know...
I remember when Amanda was born (ok, that was 17 years ago and some things have changed...) anyway, when Amanda -or maybe it was Jocelyn, 15 years ago -was born, it was at 5 pm (or 8pm), and Matt missed the first of a double-header softball game, so after we had her and I was resting, he asked if I minded if he went to the last one, which was later.... How do you answer a question like that?!! another HA HA!
Well, I will say A LOT of things have changed as far as that goes, because we now have our babies at home with a midwife and Matt does a whole lot more than he did then. He has learned a lot in that area! I'm glad he has, and that he supports my desire to do it at home. It is so much nicer and less restrictive! I enjoy having our children involved in welcoming their new baby into our family.
Many blessings to You!
