This is all of the entries that I made in my journal on our vacation. It took me a while to write about it but here they are: 9/18/09 Today is the beginning of our vacation. Our rental house is on Mustang Island. This morning I woke up at about 1:00 A.M. and I was planning to get up at 6:00 A.M. It was hard to go back to seep. Finally I did. Its 7:19 and we are at the rental house. I am going to eat dinner and then I will tell more. Later Okay. I ate dinner. To continue: After I got up, I helped make breakfast. We finally left at 7:30 A.M. During the drive there, Drew and I played travel brainquest, travel magnetic games, (we were traveling) Travels bingo, cards and a couple other games. For lunch, we at a burger joint called Wall Bangers. They had huge delicious burgers. After we got here in the afternoon, we went shopping, during which I did not get anything. 9/19/09 It is 8:49 A.M. and I just finished breakfast. I miss my cat Oreo a lot. Drew is reading us a world book of records. Today we are going to the beach, which I will right about later. Later At the Padre National Seashore, Drew, Nick and dad found a bunch of sanddollers. For some reason I could not find any. After lunch at Jason’s Deli, we went to the local beach near our rental house. There we found plenty of crabs. 9/20/09 This morning we went to the padre National Seashore again. I found three sanddollers. Two of which I put back because they were too small. In the evening, we decided to go the local beach but not go swimming because tomorrow we are leaving and we do not want to have a bunch of wet swimming suits and towels to take care of. Nick and Lisa found a bunch of clams for me to put in the ditch that I dug with the hoe, which we found, abandoned on the beach. We went home because it was dark and everyone was being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Right before we left, Nick was bringing in some more clams and one of them opened up and a ‘clam bug’ crawled out. It was sooo funny. 9/21/09 Today we are leaving. We ate granola for breakfast. After we finish packing, we are going to the botanical gardens before we leave. I will tell about it after we go. Later We went to the botanical gardens. It was very hot. For the first part, everyone was there. Then Mom, Lisa and Naomi left because it was too hot for them. Then Dad left to go back to the car too. I got many good pictures. Even Later When I got home, Oreo was so mad that she started biting me. Now she is being nicer. Poor Thing! Here is a list if the things that I got. Fish bookmark Plastic seagull Grab bag Seashells Sanddoller with sand Two rattle snake eggs Note cards Blue bracelet Well. Those were all of my vacation entries. Bye, |

Yester day I made a pom-pom cat that was very tiny. I also made an origami swan out of cloth and I stitched it up so that it would not fall apart. I had wanted to post more blogs but Drew had been on the computer most of the morning so here I am, blogging. My school is nearly done. I don;t have that much today. I didn't know what to call this post but I didn't want it to be untiitlewd. so, I picked the title latley. Several minuets ago, Oreo climbed on the dining room table and I had to go scold her. My pajamas are finished but aI still have not figured out how to post a picture them. Well, that's what 's been going on latley. Mabey I'll follow up later but I have to get of right now. • Aug. 28, 2009 - Sewing
Over the past several days, I have been working on sewing a pair of pajamas. Several weeks ago, mom bought a sewing curriculum at as home school convention. That is where I got the patteren and directions. It is a lot of fun. I have never really sewed very many clothes with patterns. About three years a go I sewed a pair of pantsand a jacket for myself. The pants werea light blue and the jacket was a print with penguins all over it. It was one of my favorite outfits. The pair of pajamas that I am working on is purple. It is a shirt with a pair of capris. The shirt is white with purple flowers and the pants and just purple. They are a lot of fun to sew. Well, Mabey I'll post a picture of them when they are finished if I can figure out how to do it. That's all for now. Bye, Katy,Y |

• Aug. 24, 2009 - The Green Pool
Sometimes, the pool turns a green color because there are not enough chemecals in it to keep it clean. After mom puts chemicals in it in several hours it is cristal clear again. One time, Dad said that it was so green that he could not see ht egrid on the bottom. I have never seen it very green at all but I can imagine that it would be very disgusting to swim in it like that. It has been fairly clear lately. When it gets dirty the inner walls get very, VERY, SLIMY! YUCK! It has been a little while since anyone has swam in it. Does anyone else have problems with above ground pools that get green and slimy. Let me know if you have This is really messed up. Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!. |

• Aug. 24, 2009 - More origami
lately, I have been learing how to come up with my own origami animals. So far I have come up with a way to make a cat and a dog. the cat is easier because for the dog you have3 to do most of the steps that you use for the cat and then a bunch more. I found how to make the head in a book. But, I came up with the bodies. I also found oout how to make a tail for the cat and the dog too. I would like to come up with more but sofar I have only come up with those two. I would like to write a book that tell how to a dog a cat and some other animals too. It is also fun to make giant animals out of huge squares of butcher paper. Well, I will try to come up with some more animals. Bye, Katy,Y |

• Aug. 24, 2009 - The Children's Muesum
ON August sixteenth, Momma, Papa, Lisa and I went to Children's Muesum in Houston. The first hall hat we went to had periscopes, puzzles, earthquake tables and wind storm tables. Then we went over to a climbing wall abvout 20" long. You climb across it instead of climbing up it. I got about to 18" and then mom wanted to take a picture of Me and I Could only hold on so long. after that a fell off. Next, we wnet to another climbing tower that was where there is a bunch of platforms that are bent and twisted. The whole thing was netted. It was so tall that I have idea how many feet it was. There was also a play city where you got a pretennd credit card and there was grocery stores, banks, ATMs, diners, a town hall and a bunch of other cool things. It lokked like a lot of fun but we only went to the grocery store because we had to leave. I had so much fun and I would like to go again soon. We got home at about 4:45 and had omlets for dinner. It was a lot of fun. Bye, Katy,Y |

• Aug. 24, 2009 - Pom-Pom cats
Lately, I have been making little pom-pom cats for the doll house. Here is how to do it: 1. Cut two card board circles the same size and in the middle, cut a small hole. 2. Take a long piece of yarn and tie on the two cardboard circles. Rap it around the circle until the whole thing is covered in yarn. 3. Stick a pair of sciccors 9inbetween the two cardboard circles and cut all the way around until the yarn is all cut. Pull the cardboard rings slitly apart and tie a piece of yarn around the yarn to form a square knot. Pull the rings completly off, leaving the long strings. 4. Reapeat Steps 1-3 except make the cardboard rings smaller. 5. Tie the two pom-poms together And cut off the extra long strings. 6. Glue on white thread for whiskers, and use small pieces of felt for the eyes and ears. Tie on a tail if you want to with a short piece of yarn. MEOW! There is your cat. Bye, Katy,Y |

• Aug. 21, 2009 - The new Dollhouse
Mom and Dad bought a doll house for Lisa, Naomi and Me. It is almost as tall as I am. On thw ninth, we went to Target and bought some dolls for it. You can get a mom and a baby for 20$. Lisa also bought a little pet cat for 3.50$. I think that that is a lot for a pet for my dolls. I learned how to make some little cats for the dolls out of yarn and felt. Of course, all of our dolls live in the same house. The moms are about 9" tall. The dollhouse came with a lot of furniture too. There is a bathtub, a toilet, a couch, two arm chairs, a fridge, a stove, A kitchen island, a dining room tablle, two dining room chairs, a bed, a swing and a dresser. The bath tub is warped so papa is going to fix it. It is so much fun to play with Lisa in the doll house. Naomi bought a little girl too with some birthday money that she had saved up. I guess I am not to old to enjoy a splendid doll house. Bye, Katy,Y P.S. I turned Ten on August Ninth. That is, if you can read this. It is xxsmall. |

• Aug. 21, 2009 - Wild Animal Origami
A long time ago, I bought a book called Wild Aniumal Origami. It was only .89 at a thrift store.I waited a long time before I tried it. It is very hard. Several day ago, I tried making a Flamingo from the book. It was not easy and in the end, it did not look very much like a flamingo. After that, I tried making a Kangaroo from the book. It is going a lot better than the flamingo. I hope it will turn out better. Right now I am having trouble with the head. Bye, Katy,Y |

• Aug. 14, 2009 - Swan-Making
I have been making origami swans. Many of them have been very small. It all started when I was making some swans out of 3" by 3" squares of paper. Next, I made some out of 1" by 1" squares. Then, I made one out of 1/2" by1/2" square. LAST, I made one out of a 1/4" by 1/4" square. The 1/4" square was very hard to turn into a swan. The 1" square was hard enough. I made Drew 8 1" swans. He named them: Keely #1, Keely #2, Keely #3, Keely #4, Keely #5, Keely #6, Keely #7, and Keely #8. Their real names are KEELHAGAN 1-8. Nevertheless, we call them Keely for short. I made some food for the Keelys by shreding paper. Drew bought a box of food for his new Keelys. Because they had not eaten all day, he emptied 1/3 of the box into their tank. Luckily, all of the Keelys are still alive. Bye,Y |

• Aug. 7, 2009 - Keel Hagan
Hi, I started a buisness called Keel Hagan. MY brother Drew came up with the name so don't ask ME where it came. You can ask HIM though at his blog. The buisness is a fun summer resortplace with a lot of activities. Drew also helped me make a budget for it. Drew and Lisa are visiting this week.It is 1,050.00 per person per week. Drew gets a discount because he is my secretary. I made buisness cards, room keys, key chains and brochures. There are indoor and outdoor activities. I made a prize game. It is where on cards I write numbers 1-16 and on another eight cards I write eight number anywehre from 1-16. on the other side of those eight cards. I write prizes like: 1 free gormet luch at KEELHAGAN. I hand each person a card without a prize on it and one by one everyone tells me what their number is and if their number is on a prize card then they get that prize nbut if it is not they do not get a prize. • Jul. 29, 2009 - Why Self-Discipline is important
|
Definition of self-discipline: Training and control of one’s own actions. Self-discipline is very important. Self-discipline is simply being able to control your actions. If you cannot control your actions and your words, you will find yourself in a lot of trouble. Many people say harmful things without even thinking first. Some people do not control what they eat and they become very unhealthy because they buy boxed, canned and microwavable food. There are many different versions of self-discipline. Some people do not control what they say when their angry and harm people with their words. Some do not control their curiosity when it is not good to find things out. Anyone CAN control his or her actions or words. It is a matter of if they want to. Harsh speech can harm many people very much. Self-discipline is very important no matter what others tell you. • Jul. 27, 2009 - BUGS!
| Lately, whenever my siblings and I go out to the pool we see so many bugs both on the surface of the water and on the floor of the pool. The kind of bugs changes from time to time. First, a kind looked like a mix between an ant, and a wasp. Now they look like tiny black and white striped flies. I do not know what either kind of bug is but I would like to know. All I know is that they are quite bothersome. Every time that we go out, we have to clean the pool with a fish net and then we can play without stepping on many bugs. One time there was a big, fat, COCKROACH in the pool! AHHHHH! Another time there was a stinkbug in the pool. Please let me know if you have had any of these experiences.
Thanks, Y |

• Jul. 6, 2009 - What trouble Polly has been up to
| Lately, Polly my pet parrot (who is really my little sister Lisa) has been causing a life-size nuisance. Sometimes she gets out of the house because I do not make her stay in her cage all the time. One time I was at the store and I was buying some parrot seed, some cherry juice, some cherry flavored parrot crackers©, and a toy for her when she burst into the shop. She seems to like cherries a lot. I also bought her some mint and chocolate flavored parrot crackers©. We had our Independence Day cook out on July 5 instead of July 4. I was eating my hot dogs when Polly came up and ate one of them! Humph! Well! I will be sure to post again if she does anything else that is naughty. Please leave a comment. Thanks!

• Jul. 1, 2009 - Oreo chasing flies
| Sometimes a fly will get into our house when someone holds the door open for too long of a period. Well, if you have a cat like Oreo, you do not need to carry rolled up magazines with you. Oreo is the best magazine you good ever ask for. It is so funny to watch her bat and jump when she is trying to catch a fly. One time, she was so obsessed with chasing the fly and she jumped through the air and slammed right into the trashcan. At first, she did not catch anything, but later she got better and caught a bunch of flies. Afterwards, she eats them. It is quite fun to watch her catch one.

• Jun. 29, 2009 - Summer
| It has been getting quite hot during the day. If the sun has been shining on one of the leather seats in our cay, than you will regret leaning back on it. Of course, some people think the heat is worse than others do. (I am one of the people who freeze during the night when the ceiling fan is on. The more I think about it, I freeze in the daytime too.) Our wooden deck gets so hot, that you cannot step on that either. I could keep naming thing that get to hot to touch, but I only have so much time. Believe me, there is a ton more. I like the heat. I think it feels good the walk out on a summer day and feel the 108-degree heat. (I also think that it feel good to go into an air-conditioned building.) Well,
