Jul. 9, 2007 - Disclaimer
It seems best that I add a disclaimer before you read the post below. I KNOW there are many parents who must leave their children here at the hospital and are broken-hearted that they cannot be with their babies.
The children I am refering to below in my post are ones I know are here alone. I met a little girl named Kayla this morning and she played with us for a while. She is here with a foster dad having been admitted on Friday as a child abuse victim. Big scabs covered her little fingers where she had been burned; bruises lined her tiny body.
She is one my heart cries out to the Lord on behalf of. Her physical scars will soon be a distant memory, but her emotional ones may linger...

What a wonder you are... always looking for a chance to share the love God has filled your heart with. That hospital will be shining all the way up to heaven for Him to see.
He hears your prayers and I will be praying with you tonight for those precious babies.

This is the first chance I've had to pop over here and read your blog and I am brought to tears, also, for the young children that are being blessed by your care and concern for them. When our twins were in the NICU for 3 months we, too, saw many babies there alone for much of their time. There were other children at home that still needed care in some cases; there were others that, I think, didn't know how to handle the needs of their little ones. Whatever the circumstances, the children left alone still needed the contact of someone who cared. We were thankful for wonderful nurses who had to fill that role for so many.
May God richly bless you and your family as you step in and, as someone else has said, be the face and hands of Jesus to these precious children as you continue to care for your own sweet family.
