Save money...pare down your beauty regime! A few years ago I read Kevin Trudeau's book Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About  and realized that I was putting a lot of things on my face and skin (and in my mouth) that were harmful to my body. Can you believe most lotions have urea in them? Gross.  Not to mention Mineral Oil, and a host of other ingredients that you really don't want in your body.  Lotions are transdermal, meaning they are absorbed into your body through your skin. Many ingredients in these so-called beauty products can make you down right sick, and you won't even realize what's causing it!

That's when I started being more careful about what I use on my skin.  I no longer have a counter full of beauty products and make up. It's amazing how little you can get by on.  For instance, baking soda, cinnamon and stevia does a wonderful job of whitening your teeth and freshining your breath and it is safer and less expensive than regular toothpaste. Did you know there's enough fluoride in one tube of toothpaste to kill a small child? It's true.

If you have not subscribed to Dr. Mercola's free newsletter, I highly recommend it! He has some great articles on there that will keep you informed of the latest news in health related topics.

You can save a ton of money by paring down what you put on your body, and it will help improve your health.  If you just can't live without some of the creams, oils, and balms...I recommend some healthier alternatives such as the ones from Earth Mama Angel Baby...click on the link below to check out some of their "can't live without" products! I especially like the Earth Mama Body Butter...great for preventing stretch marks, and the Angel Baby Lotion...

Thanks for the great links. I really need to find something more helpful for my little guys skin issues. He rashes up over anything! The docs suggested 1% cortizone, but I really hate slapping that stuff on him constantly knowing it absorbs into his system. I'll check out your newsletter links. Thanks so much for sharing!

I get that newsletter too and we live pretty naturally here. I make a lot of my own beauty treatments, including our toothpaste as well. Ours is a little bit of wintergreen essential oil, baking soda, and peelu fibers. I gave up on buying toothpaste because invariably more ended up on the mirrors than in us. And I haven't used flouride in years. I also have a sensitivity to it. I make my owns soaps and balms too. And when we're sicks it's a lot of homemade remedies and teas. I even make my own laundry detergent and we haven't had near the amount of rashes that we used to. And our clothes aren't full of all that perfume. It's a nice clean scent that's easily enhanced with essential oils.
