Biscotti- anise Italian cookies
Beat: 1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
Add one at a time : 3 eggs
Add: 3 c. Flour
2 t. baking powder
1 T. Anise flavoring
1 T. Anise seed
1/2 t. salt
Divide into 2 rolls 1 1/2 in. wide. Bake at 350 F 20 min. Take out, cut in 1 in. sections and lay sideways. Bake again for 15 min. or until golden.
Good dipped in coffee or hot chocolate. Variations- Add Almonds and Almond flavoring instead of anise seeds and anise flavoring. Dip half in chocolate or drizzle with chocolate. This is a really nice cookie to include in a gift!
