Scripture: John 14:26 NIV "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit ,whom the father will send in my name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." Today I encountered a situation that I don't really know what to do about it. I don't need to go into detail but it is one of those "life things" that always keep us hoping! You know what I mean. Everything seems to be going okay and then- wahm! .. you get jolted by another problem, when daily problems already have you exhausted! You just want to say, "Sorry, I am not available for any more problems, please go away!" Thankfully, I know I have a Counselor, the Holy Spirit that will guide me through any type of problem, big or small! In John, Jesus mentioned the Holy Spirit as the Counselor 4 times. I also read in another book that when Jesus left and said that the Holy Spirit would be with his disciples, it is equivalent to Jesus being with us. So think of it this way: When you need someone to guide you, lead you, teach you or comfort you , we have a wonderful counselor to turn to: Jesus. Draw close to Him and allow him to guide you through life. Whether you are dealing with potty training or a troubled marriage, God can guide you through any situation. Turn to the word, get on your knees and surrender any problem to Him!! Isn't it great to be able to do that? Isn't it great to know we are not alone? Praise God!! Reflection: What problems are you holding onto that you can give to the mighty counsleor to take care of? Are you turning to Him with every problem or just the big ones? The little ones have a way of building up until we "blow". Give him all your problems. He can handle them!! Prayer: Thank you Lord! Thank you for sending a counselor to guide me, lead me and teach me! I surrender all my burdens to you. I will rejoice in all circumstances because I know you are with me. Allow the outcome of the situation to glorify you. In Jesus name, Amen. To get these devotions for the Clean Heart Challenge by e-mail, go to : www.homeschoolhope.com and subcribe to my blog posts.
