Clean Heart Challenge: Introduction

With the coming of spring, many of us usually think about spring cleaning our homes. We want to air out and clear our house of clutter. But this year, it has been put on my heart to purify my heart first! For a while, I have had too many days filled with bitterness, discontent and selfishness. My days have been frustrating, hectic and not honoring of God. Starting on March 3rd, I am going to post a daily devotional focused on cleaning my heart so that my life shows the true glory of God.  I will include daily scriputre verses as well as daily reflection questions. If you feel the same way, please join me in this challenge for the month of March!  I would love to have some "cleaning buddies"!  Watch for more information!

Help for ADHD

My son has struggled with ADHD his whole life. He has always had a very hard time slowing his brain and his body down to focus!  We have tried a couple of prescription medications and they did work but I hated having him take them. Although we used the non-stimulant medication, they still had side effects. I have been looking for a natural way to help him. We have tried special diets, special supplements but they were all so complicated and hard to be consistant with. But recently I found a natural supplement that is a mixture of many different vitamins and natural supplements that works so well we were able to get him off the prescription medication!  It is called Attend. We found it at our local natural vitamin store. I am not advertizing in any way. I just had to share this in case anyone else is looking for a natural way to help ADHD. We just started it last week and already, I can tell that it works. Does anyone else have other natural ways to help ADHD that is not too compicated they would like to share?

A Valentine that will live forever

I thought I would start my first post with thought about the Valentine Card by son gave me last year!  I keep in in my jounal and look at it often! It says, "You are the heart of our family, Mom! " .  It hit me so hard how much I affect everyone else in my house!  I am so humbled by the critical job of making our home a home of peace or a home of chaos!  I know that everyone contributes to the "temperature" of the home, but the mother can calm tense tempers, encourage broken spirits and make children smile in seconds!  What an awesome responsibility we have to our family!
