Potty Training...again!!

I am potty training Ryan and Miss Kyley. You may think it would be easier with my ninth and tenth child but not exactly! I am soooo much older and I don't have the energy I used to. LOL!

Some of you may remember that I was potty training Kyley a while ago. Well, she got the stomach flu twice this winter and she has regressed. I can't blame her! It is so hard to remember to go potty when you are sick. So, we are back to square 2 with Kyley and starting at square 1 with Ryan. I will let everyone know how it is going, if I survive, and any great tips I come up with for potty training a child with DS.

Good luck with potty training. We had to try three times with our Tom Sawyer and night training did not come until this month with our radical change in diet.

Hey!
You can read the diet changes we are making under special diets on my blog. It is about 3 post down. If you click on the category it will pull up all of the entries I have put up on the subject. Tom Sawyer is 6 and was drenching himself so much at night (every night) that I had to get up and change him even with a goodnight on. I started by removing corn, gluten, dairy, eggs and chocolate. All of these are food allergies most likely to cause bedwetting. Sometimes soy and peanut butter are to blame as well. Luckily for us I suspect it is going to come down to dairy and gluten~maybe corn. We got eggs back this weekend.

Good luck! This is not one of my favorite aspects of parenting and I've only potty-trained 5. I hope you figure it out b/c I know I'll need some advice down the road!

I found it much easier with my last, by using cloth diapers. I don't know whether there is a link there, but she was dry at night v quickly as well.

We just potty trained our 7th last yr. Our 8th just turned 2 yrs this month, but I am waiting until summer to start him - although then I'll have a new born! LOL

Our youngest daughter, Bean, was almost 4 before she was potty trained. There was never anything speciall that worked/clicked in helping with our training. Just time and patience.
