Big raft, little pool!!

Posted in my kids
Okay, today the bigger kids were playing with this raft (actually a snow thingy) in the big pool.  My two little ones were really interested and wanted it in their pool.  So with great effort they finally got the raft into their little pool (okay, I helped).  I grabbed my camera and ryan decided to pose while Kyley climbed on with her dress and sandals.  All in a days fun!!

My son Jeremy is 22 years old.  I had him when I was ten!lol  okay, maybe I am older than that.  Jeremy had enough of being a big brother and moved out one year ago, yeah, extra space!  Seriously, he has done really well taking care of himself and works very hard at his job.  Jeremy was a very curious little boy and it was evident at a young age that he was very bright.  He started reading at age 3.5 while he still had some speech delays.  He was later, at age ten, diagnosed with aspergers syndrome.  He is very high functioning but does have to be reminded about social skills regularly.  He has amazed us all with his ability to hold down a job and live responsibly on his own.  He does not live far from us and chooses to ride a bike as his form of transportation.  He was my first child and my introduction into the world of special needs.  I am writing this on mothers day and it is hard to believe he is 22 and on his own.  How can the time go so quickly?  I love you Jeremy!

Kevin

Posted in my kids
My second oldest son is 20 years old and his name is Kevin Timothy.  One word to describe Kevin, "sweetie".  He would not like to hear that.  Kevin is also one of my special needs kids, and has a large piece of my heart.  He is sensitive, funny, and an avid sports fan.  Kevin started reading on his own at the age of 4, and still reads everything he can get his hands on.  His present phase is Agatha Christie mysteries.  Kevin has always been homeschooled and was very involved in church choir and drama for many years.  As Kevin went through his teenage years he began to fall behind his peers socially.  I didn't think too much about it until it started to affect his speech.  The doctor said that he was just nervous/socially akward.  I ended up taking him to a nuerologist and he now has been diagnosed with a genetic nuerological disorder that effects his eyes, coordination, and speech.  It is progressive and he is currently undergoing more tests and an MRI.  He isn't able to drive and does not have any real friends.  My heart breaks for him and I am hoping to find him a support group soon.  He has a good attitude and he loves the Lord, but I know he is suffering inside.  I love you Kevin!!

Izaac

Posted in my kids
I have introduced you to my two little guys, and now onto The three big boys.  Izaac is 12 (oh, what an age) and his feet are monstrous as well is his attitude.  Now don't get me wrong, I love my kids no matter the age but there comes a time in a boys life when I must simply transfer responsibility of them to their father. Izaac loves to build and take things apart.  He loves video games and bike riding.  His best friend is the neighbor girl who is so tiny she only comes to his shoulders.  They make quite a pair.  My hopes for Izaac are that he makes it through adolescence in one piece!

Jordan

Posted in my kids

My second youngest son is sensitive, athletic, and all boy!  Jordan got his dads beautiful blond hair and those eyes of his.  Jordan is a gymnast, and has incredible upper body strength for a 6 yr. old.  Jordan is also very passionate, like my other kids, his emotions are right out there for all to see.  This is cute...since Jordan was a baby he has been in love with his sister Allysa (she is now 16).  He says he is going to marry her when he grows up.  We finally told him that this wasn't actually allowed.  He replied, "I don't care what the law says, I am going to marry her."  Awww, sweet innocence!!  Jordan is an avid Star Wars fan, and loves to be outside.  Sitting still and doing school work is his least favorite thing, but that's okay, he will one day realize he can read about great adventures as well as act them out and I will have another reader.  Most importantly Jordan is a "good" boy.  He cares deeply about doing the right thing and has a well developed conscience.  I am blessed indeed.

My sons!

Posted in my kids

I have shared about my 5 daughters and now it is time to share about my five sons!  I will start with the baby this time...Ryan Joseph.  Ryan just turned two, and what is cuter than a two year old!  To my surprise, no shock, Ryan ended up being my easy going one!  He is non demanding, content and loves, loves, loves to be the baby.  His passion in life is anything with wheels.  He has a favorite blue blanket that my mother gave him as a new baby.  Ryan has many "mothers" in the house, and has decided he doesn't need to talk a lot since everyone just kows what he wants.  He loves to make funny faces and laugh at his own jokes.  He is gentle and affectionate.  he's so sweet I could dunk him in my coffee!

Confessions of a three year old drama queen!

Posted in my kids

I remeber when Kyley was born and we were told she had down syndrome.  She was  so beautiful and I was so relieved she was healthy. PTL! My sister has a daughter with ds and so I was very famaliar with the diferent characteristics of a person with ds.  I laughingly told my family that I was finally going to have an easy going child!!  Miss Kyley was a cuddly, sweet, and very lively baby.  Her pediatrician and others were surprised at how alert and active she was.  I now can honestly say that one word that would not explain my precious daughter is "easy going".  Kyley is a drama queen!  She is very happy when she is happy and when she is not happy the whole house will suffer.lol  Now my other children will tell you that she is spoiled....I know that may have a little to do with it  but I also know that she is a very strong-willed and spirited person.  I would not have her any other way.  Kyleys favorite foods presentlly are pasta, french fries, and popsicles.  Her favorite tv shows are Barney, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, and baby einstein.  She loves to have her feet massaged as she falls asleep, loves her strawberry shorcake doll that giggles, and loves to go shopping for new clothes.  She is only the youngest girl when she wants to be and the rest of the time feels she should be in charge!lol  I could go on about how adorable my Kyley is but I think I will just leave it at this...."She has been a surprise from the day she was born and hasn't stopped surprising us yet!"  I feel so blessed to be her mom.

precious Nina

Posted in my kids

Nina is my fourth daughter, and is five years old.  She has beautiful blue eyes and they sparkle often a long with her personality.  Nina is like a delicate flower.  She is one that needs much protecting and nurturing.  Don't get me wrong she is quite strong willed, but she also could be easily taken advantage of.  Nina is my first daughter with special needs.  It takes her a little longer to learn new things and her coordination gives her some difficulties.  Gracie looks out for Nina and is most patient with her.  Nina loves to dance and wear pretty dresses.  She is also becoming a wonderful little helper around the house.  She loves her baby dolls and has a favorite bear called ticklesh.  Nina, my little beauty!

Gracie is 7 going on 17!  She is one that can not wait to grow up.  Gracie has tremendous self confidence and can do just about anything she sets her mind to.  She learned to read this year and is doing very well.  She loves to draw, and make "crafts".  She is quickly becoming a wonderful helper and loves her baby brother and sister.  I am so proud of Gracie and her strong and loving spirit.

rebecca

Rebecca aka Becky aka Reby is my second oldest daughter.  She is a very creative person.  She has a sensitive spirit and is very loving and affectonate.  She is a natural born mother, and is amazing with babies and toddlers.  There have been many nights when I couldn't get my two year old to sleep and she will take over and he or she is asleep in minutes.  Some other of her talents are music.  She loves music and learning to play different instruments.  She currently has two guitars and a keyboard.  I am proud of her and she is a blessing to me.  Becky is also a very hard worker and has an amazing sense of humour! (which she gets from me)

My daughters

Posted in my kids

I have five daughters and they are all such a blessing!  My oldest Allysa is 16 and she is my reader.  Rebecca is 14 and she is my musician.  Gracie is 7.5 and she is my "little mom".  Nina is 6 and she is my "girly girl".  Kyley is 3 and she is my angel.  Kyley has a little extra something called trisomy 21.  We like to call them her desighner genes.  She was born a princess and expects everyone to appreciate her place in life.  I am so blessed!

Allysa is an over acheiver!!  so much like me as a teenager.  She has so many wonderful goals and hopes for the future.  She also helps with the little ones without complaining.  I often know she would rather be doing other things, yet she takes the time to help whenever asked.  today she is helping me clean my bedroom as I have a back injury.
