A Gnome's Take on Life

Just me, Riley, a simple gnome trying to make sense of the world.

Who's who

Cherise is my noble and poetic authoress, whom I help with writing.

Nori is one of Cherise's muses. She is wild and crazy, and has a very bad temper.

Juliet is Cherise's primary muse. She is mostly concerned with poetic and tragic things, and loves gazing at the stars.

Marshmallows

Today I encountered a new type of human food: marshmallows.  Cherise was having some of them (oh the wonders of humans!) and offered one to me.  I normally trust her judgment on food, so I took a bite.

Oh, you cannot believe how good it tasted!  It was as if someone had taken a cloud and brought it down to earth!  How sweet!  I quickly ate the whole thing and asked for another one.  And another one after that.

Every good food has its downside.  I am ashamed to say that I ate too many of them, and now have a really bad stomachache.  Sugar is one of the greatest of human inventions, but it can also be one of the most dangerous.  I am writing this entry to warn you: don’t eat more than two marshmallows at a time!  It can be bad for your digestion!

(Edit: Cherise has reminded me that humans have larger stomachs than gnomes, so the two-marshmallow guideline does not apply to those who are not gnomes.)

Or maybe you prefer "aloha." I quite agree that marshmallows are like bits of sweet, condensed cloud; but as I am never allowed to have any more than 6, max, I have never experienced a "cloudy" stomachache. Well, glad to know you!

Do you have a grudge against marshmallows after that experience? If not you can try marshmallows and honey. It tasts good! But don't eat too many and get another stomach ach!

As you can tell from the title of my blog, I was cracking up through reading this! And then the little pop up thing came up on my lap top to remind me that my battery is low, which for some reason made me laugh more. I'll definitely be book marking this blog!
