A Gnome's Take on Life

Just me, Riley, a simple gnome trying to make sense of the world.

Who's who

Cherise is my noble and poetic authoress, whom I help with writing.

Nori is one of Cherise's muses. She is wild and crazy, and has a very bad temper.

Juliet is Cherise's primary muse. She is mostly concerned with poetic and tragic things, and loves gazing at the stars.

The rain in Spain stays mainly...here. Yes, it moved to America.

Cherise let me watch that movie a few months ago.  It helps to understand more of American culture.

It has been raining here for two days straight, something that doesn’t happen very often in Colorado.  The sky has been constantly gray with stratus clouds, and the temperature has been very cold – so much so that you often forget it is August, and you are tempted to think it is November or February.  I personally like this weather very much, but some of the humans in this household think otherwise.  Cherise says that too much of this weather makes her depressed.  I can’t see how, but I have heard that a lack of sunshine can make humans very depressed.

Something very excited happened to Cherise today that I have to tell you about.  I was with her when it happened, so I can give you a full account.  I was sitting on her shoulder while she was working on her story, munching on some Cheerios that she had given me. (By the way, I did get over the stomachache I had from the marshmallows.  Thank you all for your concern.)  Anyhow, she was about to transfer some of her story files to the main file that she keeps all of her story in, when she realized that there were several sections of her story that she had forgotten to factor into her word count!  So now instead of 39,000 words she has 41,000 words, and only has 8,985 words left before she reaches her goal of 50,000!  I don’t know if you know this already, but Cherise set a goal for herself to get 50,000 words written for her novel, The Prophet of Einehrowaye, before NaNoWriMo.  There are roughly eleven weeks left until November, so she only has to write 817 words per week to reach her goal!  I am so happy for her.  I have been helping her a lot with her story, and it is good to see her doing so well with it.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Riley

I'm so happy for Cherise, Riley!! Even though I am writing a book too, I am nowhere close to that (the prolougue isn't even done yet!). Would you ask her to pm me what NaNoWriMo is?

Rainy and overcast skies make me feel glorious!!! I can't get enough! There are the same amount of sunny and rainy days in AR, so I've missed them!!!!!!!

I don't understand how cold rainy weather can make anyone depressed, it's my favorite kind of weather. I wish it would get colder by my house, I can't wait to be able to wear sweaters again! When I got to Molly's house today, her hair was soaking from being out in the rain earlier, since she also loves the rain.

*grinds teeth* and congratulations to you to Cherise... *is very mad because she and Molly only have about fourteen thousand words, and are getting tired of working on the same story for a year, re-writing, and re-writing and re-writing etc.!*</p?

Greetings from Hemlock

Hello Riley!
My name, well one of them, is Isilwen and I dwell in the land of Hemlock. I know you, mistress I suppose I could call her, so am honored to meet her muse, though I have never heard a gnome as a muse. See ever since I heard of them I thought them as whispy, misty things that flit about. At least that is what mine seems to be though it has yet to introduce itself to me.
Anyhow, I was ready your past entries and on the subject of marshmellows I think you should try roasting them over an open camp fire, putting it between chocolate and gramcrackers. But as this is double the sugar I would suggest you only have one, being as you are so tiny.
Also, I agree with you, I love cloudy, rainy weather! My muse loves it too and comes out during it and helps me write. Quite inspiring.
I am glad you have joined HSB and shall look forward to getting to know more about you. For now I have corses waiting, even though this is labor day and we are not supposed to work today. *Sigh* oh the annoyances of chorses!
Off I must go, *Bows* until next time.
