A Gnome's Take on Life

Just me, Riley, a simple gnome trying to make sense of the world.

Who's who

Cherise is my noble and poetic authoress, whom I help with writing.

Nori is one of Cherise's muses. She is wild and crazy, and has a very bad temper.

Juliet is Cherise's primary muse. She is mostly concerned with poetic and tragic things, and loves gazing at the stars.

A Recent Mishap

When you leave a gnome such as me alone in the house with two muses, bad things are bound to happen.  And they did, in my case.  Relationships between me, Nori, and Juliet have never been very good, but recently they got completely out of hand.

Let me put it this way.  Nori, the insane one, wishes I were dead.  Juliet tolerates me, and I tolerate her, and occasionally we work together when Nori steps over the boundaries.  However, just a few days ago, Cherise was out of the house, and the two of them decided that it would be fun and delightful to tie me to the pencil holder!!    I struggled as hard as I could, but the two of them together were stronger than me, and they succeeded in binding and gagging me, and lacing me to the cold metal pencil holder.

And then, after standing around and giggling at me for some minutes, the left me there!  Cherise was gone away for most of the day, and for that whole duration I was stuck to the pencil holder, without the ability to move or anything!!  Those muses didn't even bother to bring me food and water, and as you can imagine, I grew quite hungry and my throat dried out horribly.  It was miserable.

At last Cherise came home, and it took her a full ten minutes to glance over in my direction and see that I was tied up!!  Imagine!!  Of course, when she did see me, she untied me at once and apologized for leaving me alone with the muses, and she gave me dinner and banished the muses to the basement for the duration of the night.  They were not happy with that arrangement, and as a result that have continued to stay down there, even though Cherise needs them for her writing!!  *shakes head*  If muses weren't the basic means of inspiration, I'd have them outlawed!  They are more of a pain then they are a help!!

Alrighty, I'm here, I'm waiting, and this is a comment. Now you have to post.

That is most unfortunate!! Please lock the muses in the basement for me...Sharax was most disagreeable the other night when Cherise came over. Like Laurie says, I just don't know what happened to our sweet muse! Oh well. At least she's chained to Laurie's brain.

I have never meat Cherise's muses, but that was terrible! It's almost as bad as if they tied you up AND held you for ransom! Where are the muses now? Are they still in the basment? Do they refuse to come out till you and Cherise apoligize? Do they just like it down there in the basment because it fits their gloomy spirits? You must let us know! We are all left in suspense! Does Cherise get her inspirational muses back? Please tell us! We're hanging off the edge of a cliff!
