The Milk & Honey Tea Room

Your Hostess:

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. I'm your hostess Miss Rachel. This is the blog of a fifteen-year-old girl, who is striving to become a woman of Yahovah. I am a home school student, living on our small hobby farm with my 7 siblings, from ages ranging from 20-2yo. Take a look at my life as the 3rd daughter from a large homeschooling family and how Yahovah walks with me through it. Blessings to you in the name of Yahovah. PS. Please check out my new blog - http://dixonhomestead.com/rachel - A City On A Hill. I would love for you to stop by there. :)

Mmmm...Chocolate...Chip...Cookies...(mouth watering)

I thought you would all like to take a look at the chocolate chip I use all the time to makke delicous cookies. I have been making a lot of cookies this week! Here is the recipe.

I hope to have a home - baking business when I'm grown up... Better start while I'm still young! But you'll all have to promise to make a trip up here and taste all my deserts, promise!

1 cup margarine or softened butter (shortening works best with half the butter)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup coarly chopped nuts
1 (12oz.) package semisweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375*. Mix butter, sugars, and egg. Stir in flour baking soda and salt, (dough will be stiff, mine wasn't!) Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tspfulsonto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, about 8-10 minutes.
Note: If using self-rising flour, omit baking soda and salt.

I like making oatmeal raisin cookies also. I doubled the recipe last time so I could make one with and one without raisins because I don't like raisins! 'Eww! No one would like it.' Willy Wonka from 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.' I'll post the recipe for them next time I post a recipe!

For more  recipes, look down on my side bar for the
'Tasty Treats' section right below my LOTR Character.

Sincerely,
     Lady Rachel

What a great idea, to have your own baking business!! Cooking is such a great skill to work on, especially at our ages.

Thanks for sharing the recipe!!

The cookies are in the oven. I set the timer for 8 minutes, but the cookies still looked doughy, so I set it for another two minutes, still the same, so I popped them in there for another three minutes, I just checked on them, but they still looked doughy, so I stuck a knife through one, pulled the knife out, came out clean. I baked these cookies for my parents bible study for tonight. So I'll post another comment later telling you how the taste.

Blessings,
Miss Alli

......Dad just came home from work. He said the chocolate chip cookies smelled good! I accedently damaged one from trying to look underneath to see if it got burnt. So he ate half of it. He said....they are really good. So I had to taste for myself. I have to say for the very first chocolate chip recipe that did not include egg yolk or rolled oats, the cookies are de-lish-ous! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I will definitly(sorry can't spell it correctly) make these again.

Blessings,
Miss Alli
