Three Times Already!

Well, the Suarezs' came up again to spend the night. They got here on Saturday night around 8:30pm. They stayed until 4pm on Sunday. That is the longest they've stayed yet! Ok, so you want to hear about what we did, right? Well, this is going to be a long entry, because we did a LOT!

Before they got here, Eric and Amanda lit a fire so we could roast marshmallows later on. Everyone got out the van and greeted each other. Luke went right to the chess board with Eric. Paulie and the girls' talked for a while. Levi and I went in to listen to them in the kitchen after a bit. When the fire had burned down to coals, (a long time afterwards) it was a good time for us to roast marshmallows. Dad, Uncle Mr. S., Auntie, Eric, Hannah, Julie, Levi and I got out chairs and sat down around the fire. Mom came out after a while, but Paulie, Luke, Amanda and Jocelyn didn't come out at all except to ask questions.

Amanda made some chocolate chip cookies for everyone after dinner was done. She made some white chocolate chip ones just for Paulie. Everyone else except Paulie and Julie hates white chocolate. I think its gross. I didn't eat a any of them. They can both eat them ALL! A funny thing happened with the cookies: Amanda told Eric to get her the baking soda but he got the wrong container. He got the baking POWDER instead. She thought that Eric knew the difference. They tasted fine.

After cleaning the kitchen up, we talked the night away. Everyone wanted to stay awake as long as possible to talk and be with each other because we all knew we wouldn't have much time the next day. The girls and Paulie and Luke were talking in the kitchen while the cookies were baking in the oven at 1:30am. When the cookies were done, we each had at least one or two. We all ended up going to bed around 3am, except Uncle and Auntie, they went to bed around 11:30pm.

Sunday: I got up around 8:30am. When I went downstairs to the bathroom, Uncle Mr. S. was sitting down in the living room reading his Bible. The next people I saw were Amanda, Paulie, Levi and Eric.

Amanda started making breakfast around 8:45am. She told me to make the pancakes after she had mixed the batter, so I made them. Then I burned some, and Jocelyn had to come and rescue them from being burned. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fruit for breakfast. I didn't have a plate because I wasn't hungry.

Levi and I went outside to talk while the older kids and the adults talked in the house. We decided to climb our smaller maple tree that's on the side of the house. I had a hard time getting up there because I don't like heights that much. I did get in it though. I sat down on a low, sturdy branch while we talked. He told me about his and his brothers' knife stuff. Then we had to watch Caleb and the other Littles play in the sandbox under the swingset while Paulie was showing the older kids how to throw his knife at the tree. I will have Paulie or one of the boys show me how to do it next time they come up.

Mom told us that they had gone to the other side of the cornfield to pick some berries. Levi and I took off into the cornfield to find them. I nearly got lost because I couldn't see. I just kept jumping up to see over the top of the corn. I'd see the top of Levi's head and went on straight ahead. I eventually got to the older kids after walking for about five minutes down the rows of corn on the other side of the cornfield. I didn't pick any berries, I was too busy listening to Paulie making music with a leaf.

It was very facinating to watch. I tried to do it too but couldn't. You stretch the leaf out and blow on it for it to make a note. Its hard to do. Levi and Julie were making an orchestra, while Paulie was showing Eric how to do it. I wish he hadn't shown him, though, because he is doing it all the time now.

We all sat by our big maple tree in front of the house and sang some worship songs. Luke enjoyed it very much because he kept laughing. Paulie and Levi sang with us. It was fun to sing with them. The older kids went in and talked with the adults. Levi and I went to talk in the tree again. Julie found us out and decided to join us. She is a very sweet girl. She climbed to the top of the tree we were in. Oh, I forgot to mention that Levi tried to make me fall out of the tree before when we were talking the first time by pelting me with a broken off stick. It hit me on the head. I'm ok now.

Then we played football catch. We were just throwing the ball back and forth, so I didn't get hurt like last time. Luke kept saying I had a really good arm because I can throw the ball from across the driveway from the field to the front yard. He can do it too, his is just more twisty than mine.

They ended up leaving around 4pm. We all wanted them to stay. They wanted to stay too. They left and then we found Luke's chess game and we ran it to them. We drove it to them, actually. We didn't see that Luke left his suitcase here. They had to come back and get it after driving for two hours! Everyone got out of the car. We all started talking again. They brought a gift for Lucy: a jumpy seat with some outfits. Then everyone loaded back up into the van after saying goodbye a second time and they went off again... but we shall see them again in a few weeks: they are coming back up to help us with the addition! I'm so excited, they are going to be coming up again and in so short a time!

This post is very long, so I will stop here!

Sincerely,
   Lady Rachel

I hope you have enjoyed reading the thoughts of a thirteen-year-old girl from the country."You can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens you!" Philippians 4:13

Thank you for the comment! I did know that you're Amanda & Jocelyn's sister, but thanks for telling me anyway! Sometimes it can be confusing when family members have different blogs, especially when you don't know they're related!

It sounds like you had an eventful time with your guests! I've never tried cookies with just white chocolate chips. Hmmm... Well, maybe I'll just stick with chocolate. :-)

Sounds like so much fun... except the staying up so late part. I love my sleep! :) When I was your age I could have loved staying up though. I always used to stay up late with my dad on the weekends and in the Summer. It wasn't until I had my first baby that I could no longer handle late nights!!!

I know I've said it before, but your blog looks really cute. :)
I hope you have a wonderful day!

P.S.
Your post about Narnia and the Bible was really good....I do that too sometimes and reading the bible always helps me get on track...even if another book seems more intresting at the time. :)
