Another Trip to the Dentist...
I went to the dentist yesterday... to get half my cavities done. I mentioned in a recent post, my last one I think, that I had to get several cavities taken care of... I told when my appointments were. I went to the first appointment today, only to get half of my cavities done, much to my dismay. Dad took me in. We left around 3:30pm. My appointment was at 3:50pm. We arrived just in time, because we live 20 minutes away.
Ok... so here is what happened: I went in and got in the chair. The Dr. who was working on my teeth looked at them to make sure she was doing what needed to be done. She and an assistant put some gell substance in my mouth and washed my teeth. Then they rinsed it out with water, and dried with a air tool that blows the air into your mouth.
Next they numbed my mouth with a needle so I wouldn't feel anything. I only felt the needle go in, and didn't feel it taken out. They had to wait until my mouth was numb to work on the sensitive cavity, so while it was numbing, they took care of a smaller cavity on the top. This took about 5 minutes. It still wasn't done numbing, it was just tingling, so I had to wait longer.
When it was numb, they started to work on it by putting a piece of elastic over my tooth, then putting the elastic on a metal thing to spread it out. They had to put a cap kind-of-a-thing on it first, before they put the elastic on it.
It took 45 minutes to do two teeth on the bottom. I have to go back on Tuesday to get the other cavities done. It will take about an hour and a half to do the other cavities. Be praying that it will go well.
The only other things about afterward is that my mouth was numb for the next two hours, and after that my tooth hurt. I can chew on that side, but it hurt a bit, so I tried not too. But the Dr. told me it would be sore for about two days, then they're going to do it again in four days. So I'll only have two days of no pain in my tooth, but most of the pain is gone, only when I open my mouth really wide does it hurt.
I'll post about when I go to my next appointment on Tuesday night, after I get back, so be on the lookout for it!
Also, check out Mom's, Amanda's and Jocelyn's blogs for great new entries too!
Oh, yes, one other thing: I got rid of my poison ivy about a week ago, and I found out I HAVE IT AGAIN. It's all over my left arm, with a few spots on my right arm, and a spot on my chin, plus a spot on my neck. I think it's on my left hand too, my pointer finger... UHHGGG! Be praying that it will go away too... I hope it doesn't stay for a month like last time... it was horrible not being able to hold Queen LucyLillie all that time... Plus this time, it itches more. I woke up last time, and started scratching. I caught myself and stopped. I hope it goes away soon!
Sincerely,
Lady Rachel

Hi Rachel,
I had several cavities too. Yeah, I cringed the through reading your whole post...I didn't need to be reminded of 'The Needle'. The numbing didn't effect me very badly...but it got my sisters' pretty bad.
I hope your next dentist appt. goes well, I'm praying for you. Also praying for your poisin ivy to go away.
Your friend,
Ryann
