Narnia Adventure
|
Oh, Oh, Oh, I can't believe I didn't
put this in sooner! Our church got to do a pre-screening of the
Narnia movie last Thursday before it came out on Friday. Sean did
not want to see it because that is one of his favorite books from when
he was a kid and he did not want to ruin the book for himself. So
he stayed home with Emeline (actually they went to a friends for
dinner) and I got to go see it. We had a friend visiting from
Missouri and he really wanted to see it to so he went with me. It was really good. They did use some artistic license in there so it is not exactly the same but I was amazed at how much they did keep exactly the same as the book. It was almost like they were reading the book at some points because most of the dialog is pretty much word for word what is in the book. The actors they chose were really good, you know when you picture something in your head without really seeing it and then you finally get to see it for real? The actors they chose seemed to fit just how I pictured them (except Edmond for some reason, but he was good too so that was okay). I would not recommend it for small children as the scene at the stone table when they kill Aslan has all the "creepy creatures" and some of them...actually most of them are pretty ugly and scarey looking. I would definately preview it first before taking kids to see it (maybe wait for video and fast forward through that part). I read something about it before I went to see it that said the guy who worked on it is C.S. Lewis' stepson so I was pretty sure it would be close to the book. Was not dissappointed. |
