Oh Christmas tree...part 2 and "eye-pinky"
|
Well we have solved the "take the tree down, bring it to Tahoe and redecorate it" dilema...we went back to Rite aid today for something and ALL of their christmas trees are now only $5!! So we bought a table top sized one and Alec and Kristen are going to fit it in their car and bring it to Tahoe with them (they are going the day before we are). We are going to decorate it on Christmas eve (should take all of 10 minutes max judging from the size of it). Emeline is so excited, she picked it out and is sure it is the best one (not including the one we have already of course). Our other big excitement for the day ... Emeline has pink eye! Yee-haw! Well, I have been putting off getting a doctor for her as long as possible since we moved in October, and Sean's work insurance just started Dec. 1st anyway. I called one of the moms in our playgroup and she suggested a great clinic, a bit of a drive but they have enough doctors so that if your's is not available you can still get a same-day appointment and we got in right away when we got there. I really liked the doctor too, she was great! I noticed that the little princess had a bit of bloodshot in her left eye last night and then this morning she had the tell-tale crusties on it. When I mentioned that to her she said her eye was stuck when she woke up. She was quite the trooper at the doctor's office, she usually is though. She has to have eye drops 3 times a day for a week. They told me it would probably sting the first few times until the drops started working on the infection. When we got out to the car I put her first dose of drops in and held my breath for the crying and wiggling...nothing! She let me put the first drop in and squinched her eyes shut tight for a second then opened them up and let me do the next drop, squinched, opened other eye drop, squinched, opened last drop and final squinch and that was it. All she said was "that will make my eye feel better"...I am SO PROUD of her! She got to eat her safety pop (from the pharmacist) right away instead of waiting until after her nap! |
