Chicken Rolls

Posted in Recipes

These are really yummy.

1/2 cup milk

1 cup shredded cheese, divided

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 (3 oz) package cream cheese, softened

3 T. butter, melted

2 cups chopped cooked chicken

1 T. chopped onions

1 can refrigerated crescent rolls

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Mix milk, 1/2 cup cheese, and soup in a saucepan.  Heat, without boiling, until cheese melts.  Spoon some of mixture into the bottom of a casserole dish.  In a separate bowl, mix together cream cheese and butter until smooth.  Add chicken and onions and mix well.  Separate crescent rolls.  Place a spoonful of chicken mixture on each crescent roll.  Roll up and place seam-side down in the casserole dish.  Pour remaining soup mixture over rolls.  Sprinkle with remaining cheese.  Bake for 30 minutes or until done.

As to the butter brickle, we use Heath bar bits that we get at our Smart & Final...that way we get some chocolate in too :)

Sounds good. You think I could change a few things to make it vegetarian?

Nov. 17, 2005 - Do these brown up?

Or no since the sauce is over the top? If not, how do you know when they are done? It sounds yummy and I don't want to mess them up!

Pumpkinpatch, if you can figure out how to make it vegetarian, go ahead. But let me know how they turn out.

Yes, they do brown, but it's mostly the cheese. They are not completely covered in sauce so there is a little browning of the crescent rolls.

I'll let you know when I try them. I think I'll substitute the cream of chicken for cream of celery and some cooked veggies for the chicken. Should work out. :)
