Megan is thankful for...
When I think about what I am thankful for, the first thing that comes to my mind and overwhelms my heart is Jesus. He is so faithful to me even when I am not. As I thought about all of the blessings in my life today, I realized that I could write forever on this topic. So, I'm thankful for this season and the reminder that we all have so much to be thankful for.
Here is the list of things I thought of just today that I am especially thankful to God for:
- My relationship that keeps growing with Jesus.
- I am thankful for the husband and 3 wonderfully made boys that He has blessed me with.
- I am thankful for the loving and playful Daddy that Jeff is to O, C and T.
- The women in my life who lift me up, encourage me and love me.
- I am thankful for the Beth Moore bible study on the Fruit of the Spirit that I am doing at the exact time in my life when I need it most. (and therein lies a whole 'nother list of things to be thankful for)
- I am thankful for my mom whom I love very much.
- I'm also thankful for the fun Family Nights that our family is now enjoying every week.
- I am thankful to the 3 women (Dorothy, Lauren and Karen) who have been vital in the life of our family in teaching us how to use ASL and communicate with one another...a gift that will last our lifetime.
- I am thankful for my husband's job and how hard he works to provide for our family.
- I am thankful for our little home and of course, the new playroom we now have.
- I am thankful for my Dad and how our relationship has grown in the last year.
- I am thankful for my brother, Matt! He is so special to me.
- My family is a huge blessing to me!!!
- I am thankful for unexpected park dates and time spent with the ones I love most.
- I am thankful for pizza cutters (I know...wierd) because they make my life so much easier...I use them to cut almost any kind of food for the kids.
- I am thankful to be able to stay home full time and be with my kids. Each day is a gift.
- I am thankful that God placed it on our hearts to homeschool and that we get to do that.
- I am even thankful (after the fact) for crazy days that don't ever seem to end because then I appreciate the good days even more.
- I am thankful for our library and that my boys love books.
- I am very thankful we live in a place where we are so close to an amazing Children's Hospital.
- I am thankful that we get to spend Christmas with my husband's Dad and step mom this year...what a blessing!
- I am thankful for those who keep me accountable in my walk and in my life.
- COFFEE...need I say more!?! (although I do have a new love for Chai Tea as well)
- And I am thankful for quiet mornings where I can spend time alone with God before the business of the day begins.
As you can see, like most of you, my list could go on and on forever. It's truly amazing how blessed we are if we just stop and think about it.
We will be spending Thanksgiving at home this year. Our newest tradition (as of last year) is to spend it with my Dad, who comes over and we make a BIG breakfast together and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing. So much fun and easier on all of us in the evening without the big Turkey dinner and ALL the dishes to do.
To help our kids be thankful year round, we thank God in our prayers with them for all of the people we love and who love us and take time to thank Him for how He has blessed us. This week, we've decided to make thank you cards for people we are thankful to. O gets really excited about it and it helps him to focus on why we are thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving to all you!
