Girls of Faith

Jan. 28, 2006 - What do you think?

I got this from a book called Growing up in World War II. Here is what things cost in 1943:

...a first class letter was 3 cents,

...a loaf of bread cost 10 cents,

...a childs haircut was 15 cents,

...a movie was 17 cents,

...a quart of milk was 31 cents,

...a new car cost $900,

...a new house was $3,600

and Averge salary was $2,040/year.

WOW!! Can you imagine?

I am only on the 2nd chapter and I love it!!

I hope to learn more of World War II.

If only Things were still that cheap!

Then again....you got paid less back then.

Oh well I guess it really isn't that different.

That really is interesting -- my house was built in 1942. In 2003, we paid $127,000 for it! What a difference, huh?!
