Mar. 27, 2008 - Roses
I love roses! They are just about the most beautiful things in this world. One reason why I love them so much is because they are my name-sake.
Rosita - Little Rose
My name means little rose. It's spanish, and also my grandmother's name. My grandmother was born in Panama. Of course, she had to learn english for the sake of her husband and children. Everyone says I have dark and beautiful skin. I don't know where they get it from, because my mother has the darker skin and hair. Also at the moment I am very pale. Back in the old days pale skin was a beauty. Right now I don't think so. I fear any day I'll be able to see through myself. ^_^
My favorite color is yellow. I tell everyone my favorite rose is the yellow rose, but to be truthful I love the red and crimson ones most of all. Velvet petals, silky and soft as they may be are ruined by the thorns on the stem. I don't mind. If the thorns prick me I just rub the blood into the rose itself. To give it brighter colors I guess.
Anyone who loves roses should read the book "Rose Daughter" by Robin McKinley.

I love Rose Daughter! Most of Robin McKinley's stuff is really good. The poem you posted in your comment is beautiful- I have not read that book, but I really like some of Gail Carson Levine's other books- Ella Enchanted and Fairest.
I can't wait to see your template!

Hi! :)
Thanks for commenting on my blog! :D It's lovely to meet you. I'm glad to meet a fellow Jane Austen fan! :D May I friend you? :)
I love roses...for some reason, I dislike the smell, but they are such beautiful flowers!
I like your blog...I'm not much into LoTR and fantasy, but I do love a fairytale now and then. :D Oh! You like Robin McKinley?? I've only read her book: "Beauty: A retelling of the story of Beauty and the Beast" but I loved it!!!
Anyhow, I just wanted to pop by and say hello. :) Have a great day!

I love roses also. I have several different types of roses at my house: small crimson roses, small happy yellow roses, and my favorite, flaming pink roses that are a beatiful medley of pinks and some orange hues. I love seeing pictures of passionately red roses, so that is why I really like your avatar (and your username; very poetic and reflective of life).
I am so glad you liked my sonnet! And yes, in a way I do understand what you are saying. Sometimes it is the things that we don't fully understand that resonate the most in our souls. (If that is what you were trying to say when you wrote the sentence which you said I wouldn't understand - did I interpret you correctly?)
I would very much love to be friends with you! I like what you have to say! I will go now and add you to my friends list...
