Jul. 5, 2008 - Mission Trip to Spencer
Today I just got back from a mission trip to Spencer with my youth group. This is the second time I've been on a mission trip, and I love it. Last year we went to Alabama with World Changers. This year it was Team Effort. It was just us and a church from Texas.
It wasn't so hard this year. We had three work days and two fun days(last year it was four work days and one fun day). We went hiking and swam at the Falls. On Friday we had some extra time before we went and saw the fire works. So, we decided to go see a movie. We ended up seeing Kung Fu Panda. LOL
I loved it! Such a cute movie. Anyway the fire works were splendid, and we had a safe trip home. I'm glad we got to do something for Team Effort. Even though it was only building a deck, and doing random fix it jobs around the campsite. Did I tell you it was a campsite? The Chapel and cabins are a little away from the sites.
The people who ran Team Effort were just teens. Maybe a little older. The youngest was eighteen, and most of them were in college. They ran the Chapel services, and surprisingly they did really good. The best of their ability. They connected with most of the kids since they weren't much older themselves.
All I can say now, is that I'm glad that I went, and I'm thrilled I got to show some of God's Love through what we did. I'm also tired.
