Hello, everyone! Sorry that I have not posted in forever! I've been kinda busy, but not really, REALLY busy. My week was mostly filled with writing, laundry, and dishes. Oh, and dog training, of course. |

I know my girls LOOOOVE messages, and thought it'd be fun if they'd come online and find a bunch waiting for them. They're only allowed a day a week, for an hour, now. Saturday's the day! This is a familiar song to most everyone, and one of my favorites. There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Refrain Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth Refrain Also, here is a clip I found concerning the author of the words: While many hymns are born out of a particular dramatic experience, this hymn was simply the result of the author’s morning by morning realization of God’s personal faithfulness. Thomas Obadiah Chisholm was born in a log cabin in Kentucky. Without the benefit of high school or advanced training, he began his career as a school teacher at the age of sixteen, in the same country schoolhouse where he had received his elementary training. When he was twenty-one, he became the associate editor of his home town weekly newspaper, The Franklin Favorite. Six years later he accepted Christ as his personal Savior during a revival meeting. Later Chisholm was ordained to the Methodist ministry but was forced to resign after a brief pastorate because of poor health. Chisholm retired in 1953 and spent his remaining years at the Methodist Home for the Aged, in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. In a letter dated 1941, Mr. Chisholm wrote; “My income has not been large at any time due to impaired health in the earlier years which has followed me until now, although I must not fail to record the unfailing faithfulness of a covenant-keeping God, for which I am filled with astonishing gratefulness.”
This hymn is an encouragement to me especially when I am discouraged. It points directly to Christ. If I had no earthly blessings at all, still I would have at least one, and that is God's great faithfulness to me. When have I ever cried out to Christ and He not been faithful in answering my call?Never!
There have been people who have turned away from God,being unfaithful to Him; but this is never a result of Christ being unfaithful to man.God is an ever-present,ever-faithful Friend. He is GOD. God cannot lie, neither can He be unfaithful to anyone.
Here are a few stories for you to consider.
Story #1
Once upon a time there was a young, rich man. He was well-known for his wealth, and also for the amount of friends he had. All of which were also rich, well known people.
"I am rich." The young man said. "I have everything I could ever need or want.I have friends, money, food, everything." But as much as the rich man told himself this,he felt discontent and unhappy inside. He could not shake himself of this feeling,no matter how much money he knew he had.
Story #2
Once upon a time there was a very poor young man. He had no money, though he worked very hard.He only had a Bible,a small hut,and an old cot to his name.
The rich young man knew this man, but looked down on him,and rather hated him. "He has nothing at all, and is dumb and poor." The rich man said.
Which was very true, but the poor man had more than the rich man. He was actually richer than the rich man. The poor young man had a God,and he had eternal life to look forward to.The rich man did not.
Now,which man was more rich? The one who was poor earthly. The earthly rich man was eternally poor.Which would you rather be?
