Oklahoma, Part 4 or Kids only day!

You can read about my trip to Oklahoma last May HERE
Saturday, November 21, 2009 Today, at 10:00 our mom and dad left to visit some of my mom's friends from college. Or high school. I can't remember. But they planned to not come back until late that night. So the first thing we did was play some Bingo for the very first time. Let me explain how to play. Well, you get a card with a bunch of random numbers on it and one person yells out a number. If that specific number is on your card, you put a red dot on it. Five dots in a row and you win a prize! Some of my favorite prizes were: The small stuffed pink leopard The rainbow slinky The pen that could write in 10 different colors And the dog, panda, and elephant puppets. After that, we ate lunch very quickly because Nana had planned a surprise that started at precisely 1:00. So everyone except Nana and Veronica (Nana said Veronica was too young for the surprise) hopped in the car. Just when we were turning out of the driveway, our grandfather, who was driving, asked, "So, do you want to know where you're going?" We said yes, of course. I was really, really hoping.... "You're going horseback riding again!" Yes! Remember in May? This would be the second time we went! Oh, we were so happy! When we got there, we imeddiatly put on our helmets and waited for our horses. I wondered which horse I would get. I was hoping the white one, or the black one, or that beautiful brown one with a black mane. It turned out I got the brown one with the black mane, whose name was Rhinestone. Rhinestone was so sweet. Even though he liked to tease the dogs. One dog, who was really friendly, got to close to Rhinestone and the horse put his foot down right in front of his nose. It sure scared that poor dog. Well, I rode Rhinestone to the hay thingy and let him eat for a while. I was glad Rhinestone wasn't like Jazz, the horse I rode last time, who was stubborn and never stopped eating. After about five minutes, All the people who were riding gathered around a specific man who was leading us, and we rode into the woods. I looked around to see ho was riding which horse. Miranda was riding the pure white one and Britton had the shining black one. Well, I thought, Rhinestone is just as pretty. We rode for, I don't know, an hour and a half? Rhinestone was a very sweet horse, although I am sure he has a sense of humor. Once, we were lagging behind, so a kicked him gently to get him moving again. Well, instead of walking, he trotted really fast. We were soon up in the front, but it surprised me that he went so fast. And one time, when we had to climb over a big rock, Corbin's tan horse slipped! He was really, really scared. Our leader explained the horses didn't have shoes on, so they might slip. We went through water about five times, and on the way back, we saw some bulls with HUGE horns. When we finally got back to the ranch, I said goodbye to Rhinestone and we got in the car. Then, our grandfather surprised us with some rootbeer, a can for everyone. He didn't ride with us, so he just read his book in the car. On the way there we laughed about the trip and told him EVERYTHING. when we got back, we walked to our grandparent's pond and we hhad a cookout for supper. We cooked hot dogs and roasted marshmallows, and told Nana what we did when we went riding. It was the perfect end to the perfect day.

Oklahoma, Part 3 or God bless us, every one!

Today, during the day, we really didn't do much. Our grandmother (we call her Nana) took us on a hike around her property. We hiked over to our cousin Britton's house which is also on Nana's property to see if his treehouse needed cleaning up. We started in the cow pasture and walked all the way to his house, avoiding cow patties. (Those of you who have no idea what these are, don't ask. It would probably be better if you lived your life without knowing... Ewwww...) When we got to the treehouse, it took us a while to get up there because the ladder was a little short. When we FINALLY got up there, we were surprised that it was pretty clean. Britton said that before we came back in the summer, he would paint it and get some tables and chairs and maybe a water-balloon gun to make it look really cool. We decided that next time it would be our special clubhouse. Around 1:00 pm, our mom and dad took me, Miranda, Corbin, Perrin, Veronica, and Britton to Clairemoore, Oklahoma to see a Charles Dickens Christmas celebration thing. But it started at 6:00. So first we toured this mansion, and then we went to a gun museum, and then we went to a Will Rodgers museum, and then we went to a mexican restaurant, and THEN it was 6:00, so we went to the Christmas thingy. It was really cool! There was a Living Nativity Scene with cows and goats and donkeys, and everyone had their shop doors open so people could walk inside and look around. And some people were in costumes! Everybody looked like someone in England around 1750. There were no cars, just horses pulling carts! Me and Miranda and our mom went to look at this doll store, and the boys went to grab some root beer and popcorn. The doll store was pretty cool, but everything was REALLY expensive, so we didn't buy anything. There were dolls of all shapes and sizes, as small as a pencil and as big as a five-year-old! And the root beer was gooood. But I couldn't have any popcor cause it had butter on it. :(

Then we went home and flopped into bed. Well, the LITTLE KIDS did, anyway. Me and Miranda and Britton stayed up late and watched the Little Mermaid. I LOVE the songs in that movie!

Okay, I'm done. G'bye!

Oklahoma, Part 2 or It's time for fun!

You can read about my trip to Oklahoma last May HERE
Thursday, November 19, 2009

Me and Miranda woke up today smelling bacon, biscuits, and gravy. We put on our clothes as fast as we could and ran into the kitchen. We helped set the table until everyone else was awake. While we ate our delicous breakfast, we decided to go to the Tulsa Zoo. So at about 9:00, we hopped in our grandparent's van and drove the one-hour-long drive to the zoo. We saw lions, lionesses, tigers, a snow leopard, penguins, monkeys, elephants, cockroaches (Eek! Who put those there?!) and a whole lots more! After seeing pretty uch everything, we found some picnic tables and sat down to eat lunch, which was ham sandwiches and root beer. Then we played for a while in the playground nearby. But a bunch of school kids soon came on a school bus and it was really crowded, so we had to leave. When we got home, we picked up our cousin, Britton, from school. Ater that, me, Miranda, our dad, our uncle Mark and Britton went out to explore some abandoned property. Phew! I bet we walked about two miles altogether! And we saw some really cool tings, like some turtle bones. Our Uncle Mark thinks a cougar or a coyote got it. Well, we hiked back and arrived back at the house just in time for supper.

Oh, man! The weekly poll! I forgot!

Oklahoma, Part 1 or I'M BACK!!!

You can read about my trip to Oklahoma last May HERE Hi everyone! I'm back from Oklahoma! And, boy, did we have a great time! Let me explain our trip. Wednesday, November 18 As soon as I woke up today I was feeling very, very excited. We did do a little school, but we had to pack after. We ate lunch early because we had to leave the house at 1:30. Soon, we were ready. We hopped in the car and drove to the airport in Rhode Island. (Which took us a hour because it's pretty far away). When we got into the airport the first thing we had to do was get our bags on the plane. But the second we walked inside, this very friendly man walked over to us and said: "Well, hello! Where is the 'Brady Bunch' going today?" We laughed, and he helped us with our bags. Usually it takes FOREVER to do this, but with Patrick's help, (that was the man's name) it took minutes. Then we went off for Security. For those of you who have never been on a plane, Security is what you go through to before you get on the plane to make sure you don't have any weapons or anything harmful. We didn't, of course. Usually that takes forever too, but there was practically no line and we were done in five minutes. After that, we went to our gate, the place where you go to wait for your airplane. When we got on our plane, we decided who got to sit with who. I ended up with my little brother, Perrin. But it was a pretty small plane. On one side there was one seat, and on the other there was two. So I didn't exactly sit right next to Perrin. He sat in the one seat, and I sat across from him with a old lady. When we got onto our second plane, I got to sit with Miranda and we talked and laughed the whole way. By time we got off that plane it was around 10:00 pm. Then we found our grandparents, who were waiting for us in the Tulsa airport. I fell right to sleep in their car. We went straight home and straight to bed. Phew! What a busy day! I'll tell you more about our trip tomorrow!

OW OW OW OW!!!!

OW this really hurts! Okay, let me explain.

It was a lovely day, 60 degrees and sunny, perfect weather for a walk. Miranda and Corbin (my siblings) have left with my dad to help my grandfather. So it was just me, Perrin, Veronica and my mom. As I said before, it was a lovely day, so we went for a walk to take pictures. Me and Perrin were racing eachother.

We were in the middle of a race and I was winning. But suddenly, a terrible root edged into our path, and Perrin and I tripped. Down, down, down we fell. I put out my hands to stop me, but it didn't help. We both landed on our knees. Blood poured through our pants. My pants had ripped on the knees. We limped home to doctor up our wounds. It looked pretty ugly. We washed the blood off and put on some band-aids. I changed my pants.

Ouch! It still hurts, but I'm fine. I'm going to make Perrin's stuffed penguin a scarf and a winter hat out of my pants becuase he was so brave when he fell. Yow! Okay, I'm done... Ow ow ow ow OW!!!!!
