Chocolate Deficiency

I have really felt out of it this week. I am not sure what to blog about, but crochetmama called me a "blaxer" so I thought I should update a little! I have just gotten over a very hormonal week, so my mind feels like mush!! There has been a lot going on with me emotionally, but I don't feel like blogging about it yet, maybe later. Maybe my chocolate levels are too low. Here is the scoop for today:

Actually slept most of the night. Not normal for me.

Woke up at 7:30 this morning from very loud thunder! It was pretty cool. Brought back ND memories.

Slept in until 9:30am

Sara made some wonderful chocolate chip cookies today

Got very excited to find out that Monk season 4 comes out on DVD on Tuesday

Trying to plan out Kyle's 18 birthday next week. Still no plan!

Played 2 games of Clue, Kyle won one game and Sara won the other

Watched part of "What a Girl Wants" (So glad Sara is home to watch chick-flicks again!)

Was planning on cleaning the garage, but it was very hot and humid today

Made some whole wheat bread and an apple pie for a lunch meeting tomorrow concerning the Switzerland trip

Vegged and watched a lot of videos today since Miles and I were not feeling great

Too tired to make dinner so we had Rubio's for dinner tonight. (Really good Mexican food)

Chatted with 'J' on-line, that was nice

Tomorrow we have a busy day. Church in the morning, then a meeting afterwards for the mission's trip, then a game night and potluck at some friends house, and hopefully time in between for a nap! I have started reading this book that Sara highly recommends. The title really intrigues me. I will let you know what a "Velvet Elvis" has to do with the Christian faith when I am done. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Homeschool Graduation

I have been blogging on my other site and have forgotten about this one! I will try to do better at posting here. I would really like to meet new homeschool friends through this site and stay connected with Kate better. (Miss you Kate!) Things are finally starting to slow down...sort of. I am not waking up as much at all hours of the night thinking about all the stuff I need to get done, so that is a good sign! I'll try and list all that has gone on in my life since my last blog.

Had our last homeschool park pay meeting for the year and or last board meeting. That was weird, this year flew by, maybe because it was my last year of "officially" homeschooling. I feel like I am in transition.

Dusty, my daughter's friend came to visit for the weekend. It was nice having him here. Sara was happy! She really misses her Timberline family. It was nice to get to know him a little better. Sara dragged him all over the place to meet people and they also went to SeaWorld on Saturday. I am sure he was ready for a nap when he got home!

Miles' parents came for Kyle's graduation and stayed 10 days. We had a nice time with them, relaxing, playing some games and they helped tremendously with the graduation stuff and with the food for the party. Wished they could have stayed longer but they are moving into their new house they bought in Portland this week. Very exciting time for them! We were going to try to squeeze in a Disneyland trip, but we ran out of time.

Kyle and I finished up the program for the homeschool graduation ceremony just in time!! Miles picked them up the day before graduation and half of them had been printed incorrectly! Talk about a scare!! He was able to get them reprinted at the last minute. Little extra stress before the ceremony is always good, keeps me on my toes!

The ceremony was great! I actually found some new clothes I liked for it! In our grad ceremony each graduate has a 2 minute reflection speech and then the parents come up to say a few words, shed a few tears, then present the diploma. Kyle has the record now for our group with the shortest reflection speech, 12 seconds!! All the other kids and those in the audience thought his was the greatest! It was very "Kyle." The ceremony is always very touching with the grads and parents affirming each other and celebrating together on stage their accomplishments. I think I will continue to attend the grad ceremonies even though my kids are done.

The graduation party was great! Kyle and his friend Jake wanted to combine their parties so we had the festivities at Jake's house. Had over 100 people for an Asian themed party. Ate Chinese food that Miles work catered, so that really cut down the cost for us, and it was really good. Miles' mom made the stir fried rice and a Top Ramen salad. Had a short time of prayer for the grads and then had fun just visiting and eating. Got home pretty late and we were pretty wiped the next day. My brother and his family came down for the party and stayed the night. That was fun to see his kids again. They are getting so big! My mom was thrilled to have all her grand kids together for the day.

I have a few things to finish up with Kyle's school records then I will be officially done with homeschooling. This is the first summer in a long time where I won't be doing school with anyone. We have always done a little school during the summer so this will be a good transition time for me to get used to the new schedule once September comes. I am still not sure what I want to do next year. I have thought up until this point that I would stay on the homeschool board even when I was done homeschooling to serve and stay involved, but now I am having second thoughts. I have been throwing around the idea of taking classes and getting a natural health certificate. I have always wanted to do that, so maybe now is the right time. I have always been interested in nutritional studies since lifestyle diet changes has helped me get rid of so many physical problems the doctors said were hereditary and that I was stuck with the rest of my life that ALL of my family struggles with. I was told I would be on meds forever, but fruits and veggies are much cheaper and better!! I'd rather stick with this route! I have found a nutrition school I like on-line that is not too expensive, so we'll see what happens. I will be praying about this some more.

Tonight is our Precept ladies Bible study. We are almost done with Genesis part 2. We have 2 more lessons. I cannot wait to go over part 3 again about Abraham. I feel it will be great timing for me now that I am trying to figure out where the Lord is leading me next. We have a couple more ladies joining in for part 3, so I am looking forward to that.

I have started organizing all my eBay inventory and hopefully will start getting it all listed. I have 'hired' Sara to help me, so hopefully that will go faster. A friend brought over another box of books she wanted to get rid of, so now I have more to add to my huge pile! I have been listing some of them on Amazon, so I'll see which ones sell faster.

We are planning on going to Switzerland this summer for 2 weeks with a group from church to work at a German camp for teens. The trip would be the last week in July. This is the "new thing" that is waking me up at night now! Please pray that we can get all the details worked out quickly. Always something!! I will blog more about that later.

Better go and get to my day!
