Been sleeping...

I know its been forever since I've blogged...with homeschooling, working, life, and moving...I've been a little tied up, as it were.

Now its 2009, and I am happy to be in January. Last January I was excited to be entering a new year too...so I don't want to be too thrilled. Its just another year!

Wy, Morg, Cole, and maybe Seth are going to be getting ready for baseball/softball season. Wy's season will start earlier as it is a christian high school sport. Then we will be busy running the other 3 around, unless decides not to play again.

In the fall we were busy with Wy in 1st year football and Morg in volleyball with a christian middle school. Morg and Cole were talking basketball, but we asked they take a break for a couple of months. Thankfully, they agreed.

Now I am taking down decorations today and going to do lesson plans tomorrow. We are ready for the start of the second half of the year to begin.

I used to play softball in elementary through high school. So I love to throw the ball around with my kiddies. Unforunately I'm not the same "person" as I was then. Apparently after trying to throw the ball as far as my 9yo son encourages me to throw it, doesn't agree with my muscles.

Monday night before my daughter's softball game, my 9yo son wanted to play catch. So I did. He kept backing up and I kept saying, "You're too far. Scoot in some!" He responded, "Naw, mom you throw it and I'll catch it."

Well, I threw it and he tried to catch it. We had fun. Then Tuesday afternoon my back (right lower side) asked Was it worth it? every time I tried to move. Fun!

I went to sleep last night and woke up with it worse this morning, due partly to my 5yo son's legs wrapped around me during the night. I was so tired I don't even remember him climbing in bed. I've been icing it and taking Ibuprofen when I can't take the pain any longer.

Thank you Lord for muscles that work right (most of the time) and family who encourage my competitive spririt!

I put a new video on my page. David Crowder Band's video O Praise Him! What an awesome song. I saw them in the Spring 07 and they were awesome. What a great worship time!! Although I enjoy Toby Mac, I thought it was time for some worship tunes from this band.

Apparently it was just the battery issue. Those of you who were praying - Thank You!! A working truck made for a good birthday present for my dh.

Got a sense of humor?

Well let me just say this has been one fun month...God had to be first in our life so we could see the humor in the whole month.

At the beginning of June my dh talked with me about his work-related Reno trip and invited/asked/suggested I go along - especially since it happened to fall on our Anniversary. So we got childcare arranged and responsbilities at work turned over to others. And we left the middle of July. We had a great time alone, vegging, and without children/noise/activity. (Of course, we missed them;)

We got home 3 days later on a Tuesday night. Wednesday he got up to go to work, but his truck wouldn't even make it down the block. So off to the shop it went with a pretty good-sized oil leak. That wasn't too surprising for us, due to the fact that every time he goes to a training meeting, he comes home encouraged and ready to work, but can't for some reason or another.

He even had a bonus coming and we could actually catch up on some bills and do a "little" fix it on the truck. They called with the quote the next week:$550. At least that's what I heard on the phone from dh, but he actually said $950. I had to take a deeeeeep breath after I figured that price difference out. See $550 we could squeeze it out of the bill money. But $950 was unseeable.

Of course he okayed it because what else we to do. Then at the end of that week they called again. Now that they were in the engine, they saw other problems $1750...woa now! Apparently they didn't get that $950 was an issue. So we are at $1750 now!! I guess I should have trusted God with the $950.

Then when they go to put it back together (and we figured where we could get $1750 from!) they find more problems that could possibly cost $2350? Ouch, but through prayer and communication with dh and auto shop they fixed they problem without raising the cost. Total $1750.

We picked it up yesterday and drove it home. So he went to do devotions at a friend's house last night and I took the 2 kiddies swimming across the street from where he was. I was in my shorts and just thought I would stand on the steps of the pool, but it felt so nice. So I jumped in...impulsive behavior is not neccessarily a good thing. Apparently my cell phone is not water-proof. So I waited to tell dh after he had devoted and then shared the wonderful news.

His friend had an extra cell phone he gave to us - dodged the bullet this time. The story's not over yet...He went to get in his truck this morning and couldn't even get it started. So he has two batteries charging all day today...I let you know how the saga continues.

Pray for us please. His birthday is tomorrow...pray it will be better then the last 3 weeks. A big order would be nice too!!

These Kind of Days...

I just love these kind of days! The kind of days where nothing goes as you plan...great.

First, I planned to get up at 6am. Instead, I woke up at 6:22a. Great!

Next, my client wasn't ready to go at 6:45am like was planned. Instead, she was ready to go at 7:35a. A tad bit late...ohhh, God is teaching me some serious patience.

Then, we are on the freeway and trying to get to her camp drop-off point 45 minutes away and the camp bus leaves the drop-off point at 8:30a. Oh did I mention by this time it was 7:50a and there is noooo (I mean seriously no way) we are going to make it. Instead, there is tons of traffic and a 45 minutes trip becomes a 60 - 75 minute trip.

So, we drive an extra 60 minutes to get her to camp. Of course, that would get us there about 10a. Unfortunately, when I called the campgrounds main office they wouldn't start accepting clients until 12p.

Amazingly, this part was okay...especially since it wasn't planned you know it can't go wrong. We shopped at a Ross Store and went to a local coffee shop Schnoogs. Both were fun! Now the lift on the wheelchair van did start to give me problems, but I firmly pressed the "reset" button and told it, "We are to far from home for problems now!" And it worked.

Then its off to camp we go. Side-note, GPS is an amazing thing at times. So we pretty much get there without any further problems.

Once we arrived there, we had to spend another hour explaining the medication list and all the other stuff that goes along with drop-off time. Surprisingly, we had figured it wouldn't take another hour, but who are we to be planning anything anymore.

Finally, I planned to be done with working at 12p today. Yet, I didn't actually get back to town until 2:30p.

So tell me do you ever have ~~planned~~ unplanned days,

Ahh...Peace!

It's so quiet here...its 7:15a and the children are all asleep still. After 3 nights in a row of "later than usual" nights it has finally caught up with them.

Yesterday it was about 109 here. Yeck! Although after we went swimming yesterday evening it didn't seem that yuck anymore. We left my friend's pool at 8:15pm and it was 102 at that point. The 2 younger children were told they were going to bed as soon as we got home. 8pm is their bedtime, but once again summertime has hit us because they were still awake at 9pm when big bro was getting ready for bed.

I just love drinking my "cold" coffee and eating my sourdough toast to the hum of the swap cooler. I'm just leaving it on for now as it is already "just right" in here.

I have to go to Costco later because we are almost out of the regular bread. And cheese! Might as well pack it in if you run out of cheese. We have company coming tomorrow - my husband's friend and his 2 sons! So I have to a "menu" figured out...and we'll see if I even follow it!

Homeschool Convention

I can not wait until the end of July for the Homeschool Convention! I enjoy it so much. This is the first year I get to take my soon-to-be 8th grade son. Seminars, friends, books, Starbucks, lunch, encouragement, and fun with my son will be a great time.

Just Another Friday

Just another Friday...as we sit and enjoy each other's wonderful company. Blah-blah! Okay really those bathrooms have got to get cleaned today! Maybe if I post that sentence here I'll get them done. Then I have to go to work for a couple of hours...and I'm done for the week. Yeah!

Then my daughter has another tournament game tonight. She won her last one and I think they might go all the way. You know they are league champions 10-0. I think that's pretty cool for her first year playing...and a couple of times of wanting to quit after the first practice. Too much running for her taste!! We quickly informed her she was sticking with this (she's a tester) till the end of the season. She responded, "Well, I'm not going to play!" My response, "Oh, you are going...you can even stand in rightfield and do cartwheels or cheerlead out there, but you are going." She went with an amazingly great attitude, once the other players got there. But her coach put her as a catcher...I guess you can't cartwheel or cheerlead in that position. God is so funny!

Okay enough blabbing on...here I come bathrooms.
