Getting my field ready!

Though my house is for sale, I am going to "get my field ready".

There is a great movie I watched awhile ago called "Facing the Giants". You really should see it. In the movie, there is a scene where a praying man tells the football coach that he needs to have faith. The coach says he does. So the praying man tells him this short story.
"There was a terrible drought in the land and two farmers desperately needed water. They both prayed for rain, however one of them went to plow his field. Which one had more faith?"

I have faith that my house is going to sell really soon. So, I finished painting. We got our garage door fixed. We planted the flowers and put bark in the front for that "curb appeal". I got the carpets cleaned. I am getting a storage unit. I am going to start packing and my field will be ready! YEAH!

Please pray for our home to sell Fast!

My husband and I went through Financial Peace University and learned that our house payment should only be 25-30% of our income. We are spending at least 55%! Way out of the average. So we have decided to sell our beautiful family home that we have come to love. It has been a 8 month process. We put it on the market back in September of 2006. It did not sell so we took it off the market until now. We have repainted most of the rooms and updated some things even though the home is almost 4 years old.

My husband did some fasting and praying last week for direction as there are approximately 8000 homes in our area for sale and the market has been very slow. We are not using a Realtor to save us thousands of dollars. On top of that, we have no place to move to, so this is going to be a miracle of its own.

When my husband was a teenager a special old woman told him how much Jesus loved him and told him how special he was and that God had a plan for his life. Thus, one of the many reasons he is a pastor today. Anywho, she will be 80 years old this year and needs taken care of. We have been visiting her once a week, during a course of a month. On the day he was in prayer and had fasted we had dinner with her and she asked us to move in with her! My husband would love for us to take care of her as she has so many others. She is a jewel.

Well, to make a long story short, my husband put out a fleece. We are hoping to sell our home by next week. So I covet all of your prayers. I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us and for this precious woman, Flora.
Here is a link to the description of our home.

I will keep you posted. Thanks so much!

Little Fumblies....

*Warning, the material in this blog may be offensive to some and funny to others.*

So Allie, my almost 14yr old, is memorizing the Gettysburg Address. So, she asks me, "Mom, can you recite it?" I didn't want to let the poor girl down, so I began, "Four score and 7 years ago, our Fathers....um.....who art in Heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." I did get a laugh out of her.

So, Matt, my dear husband, comes from my bedroom and Allie asks him the same question. Much to my surprise, he says exactly what I said. (Great minds think alike!) Only this time my 8yr old son, Eric, is in the kitchen and only catches a little of the conversation. He comes storming into the living room to correct his dad. He states very as-a-matter-of-factly, "It is not Our Father who FARTS in heaven!"

It reminds me of a prayer that he used to say when he was very little. He prayed this very innocently, "Now, I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. The angels watch me through the *butt* (should be*night*) until I wake till morning light." I am sure the Lord knew what he wanted to say.

New Years Resolutions

Do I have any? Well, I have not made them in the past because I have not been able to complete them. I probably have too high of expectations on myself, nah, that isn't it. So, let me think.

I want to be able to homeschool all 3 children at the same time. I want them to succeed and I want to be a cheerful mom when I do it. Sometimes I feel like a "warden" with a whip. Do your homework, do your homework, do your homework!

I hope to instill good manners and help my oldest do well in Math, and actually like it. She is a lot like me!

You know this sounds more like goals and not resolutions. Oh well, I will have to think about it a lot more! Good Day!

I am so blessed!

I am so blessed!

I am sitting here in my kitchen with my slippers on my feet. I have just eaten my egg mcmuffin and drank my tea with honey. My tummy is full. I have fed my older children and my dear husband. They are on their way to piano lessons. My youngest is still in bed. (I am letting her sleep in.) I am stealing a small moment to myself and I am loving every minute of it.

I have been studying the book "Created to be His Help Meet". I have just learned what type of husband I am married to. I am blessed to be married to a cross between a Visionary and Steady Man. It is so very interesting and yet very challenging. My husband is such a blessing. I sometimes have a tendancy to look at the negative rather than the positive. I will give you a good example of how he blessed me today.

First of all he decided to take today off. Surprise! I get to spend the day with him. We slept in TOGETHER for the first time in a really long time. I had forgotten to take my children to piano lessons today because it is considered a holiday. (I actually assumed we didn't have them.) Anyway, the piano teacher called me this morning to ask me to come in later with the kids. When I got off the phone I asked my dear husband, Matt, if he would take the kids so that I could stay at home and do some house work. He declined, politely, and indicated that he wanted to stay at home. Well, I did not want to go because I am the one who always takes the kids and I did not want to deal with the piano teacher. (Sad reason, huh?) Plus, I thought since my husband is the "Music" pastor at church and he is the musician in the family he would like the opportunity to share this with the kids for once.

I do admit that I threw a bit of attitude his way. He told me, finally, after I was "throwing" laundry into the washer and "stomping" around a bit, that he would take the kids to piano lessons. I felt bad that I caused him to make that decision because of my attitude. Well, I changed my attitude real quick and I made him breakfast and a cup of tea to go. He left with a smile on his face. I am pleased about that.

Now, back to the book. I have learned a little bit about the way that he thinks and the way that I can be a blessing to him. I feel bad about my behavior and hope that I can catch it next time, so as to avoid this situation in the future. In the mean time, I am going to get as many things done as possible, before he returns home. So I must go now to be a blessing to my dear husband!

Real New Look!

I am so excited! I received a face lift on my blog page! Special thanks goes out to my good friend Tara, aka, tnschaffer. She came to Boise for a visit and helped me. She also gave me a mini training session, long enough to became addicted to it! I cannot believe how many hours you can spend on this. Speaking of many hours, I have wasted valuable time on this blog, taking away from my home chores. So I must get to work. I am so excited, I am going to show my kids how to do this so that they can make their blog look fun too! God bless!

A new look!

I am trying to learn this blogging template thing. As I look at all of the cute blogs I find myself a little envious of how nice they look. So I am going to try to figure it out so that I can make mine a little different. I am so excited, my daughter Allie has now started her own blog. I get to see what she will write. Her name is "Girlonfire". Plus she wants to do fun stuff too. So, it is important to me to learn how to do it.

My DH has changed the look of our website, finally. I would have done it if I had some guidance. He said that he was going to try to make it look "girly" for me. How cute! He has done a very nice job. You can see it at gagerbunch@cableone.net I am very impressed.

Speaking of "new looks". My 8 yro son, Eric, gave his foot a "new look" He broke his big toe on his right foot. I had him run up and down the stairs 10 times to get rid of some unused energy. On the 7th time he biffed it pretty good at the bottom of the stairs. It looks like a purple sausage! I was in the middle of making mint chocolate chunks and rice "kripsy" treats, as my little Abby calls them. We decided to give out Christmas tins to our surrounding neigbors this year. I had the kids deliver them. The only strange thing that happened that I was kind of disappointed in was that our across-the-street neighbors would NOT accept them from us. My son was a little confused when they said "No thank you" and shut the door. It was a good time for a lesson learned in giving. We give even after someone is not appreciative.

The other exciting thing that happened this weekend was that we got to go see "The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe". We finished the first book, "The Magician's Nephew" the day before we went to see it. You see we had already read the book, but it was out of order, so we read the 1st one 2nd. Anyways, it was an awesome movie. Although, I sat next to a very emotional girl. I'd say she was about 20 something and she was cheering as the movie started. Then, as the movie came to an emotional spot she began to sob, out loud, I might add. She was crying so hard she shook the whole row of seats we were sitting in. Then as we got to the "war" scene she began to shout, "GO, GO, GO, GO GET THEM! Whoo hoo!" With her fist shaking in the air. Again my seat was shaking. Finally at the end she clapped and cheered and gave a standing ovation, saying very loudly, "That was a GREAT movie! I am going to buy it!" All the pastor's went to see the movie. My pastor's wife sat 2 rows ahead of us and asked me after the movie if I heard the really "emotional" woman during the movie. I think she was being sarcastic! It was a great movie and I would recomend it to anyone over the age of 5, maybe 6 or 7.

What a great holiday!

It has been great weekend! I have been able to spend time with my family, including my wonderful husband. We had my mom's side of the family come over for the first time. It was great I didn't have to cook a thing! We just assigned everyone a dish. It was all taken care of except the salad and I worked HOURS to prepare that! It was a big hit. I really enjoyed myself. After dinner here at 1pm, we went to my brother-in-law's home. We really had fun.

I am so proud of my family; my children and my husband! I am so thankful for so many blessings God has given me!

My organization needs some work.

I have commented a time or two that I am not organized by nature. I have to constantly work on it. Well let me tell you something that makes me laugh. I believe I am ADD. I get distracted so easily and it drives me crazy.

This morning when I was making breakfast I threw something in the garbage and found it to be very full. So I asked my son to take the trash out. He did. We keep the garbage cans in the garage. Well, my husband forgot to bring the cans in so my son, apparently, left the trash sitting next to the door in the garage.

I started to load the dishwasher. At that time, my children needed me to assist with their homework. So I stopped what I was doing and helped them. I went to the garage to get our dictionary and couldn't find it. But I did find that my son left the trash on the floor, so I told my son to bring in the cans and put the trash into the cans.

Because I couldn't find the dictionary we decided to use the internet to look up the word. Since I was on the computer anyways, I decided to check my email.

While I was checking my email my daughter asked me to help her with something in the family room at which time I remembered that I needed to start a load of laundry. I threw 3 pieces of clothes in when I was interrupted to come back to the kitchen. I made a mental note to finish throwing in the rest of my laundry.

I made it back to the kitchen to help the kids when I realized that I had not finished loading the dishwasher. So I finished. When I finished the dishes I helped my youngest get something to work on. I went back out to the garage to get a different book and found that my son had not taken care of the trash! UGHH! So, I followed him around until he completed his job. At this time I remembered that I had not finished loading the laundry! UGHH! So, I finished that.

Whew! What a morning. I feel like I am going in circles. I keep starting a job and then getting distracted and don't finish it until I am back in the room I started it in. I don't know it I will ever get my act together! Lord, help me.
