The Adventures of Bug-Man Joe - Homeschool Blogger

I like to catch bugs. I love studying them and learning about them. I will be writing about bugs I catch, books I read, places I go, and things I do while I explore the world of bugs.

Another Summer Adventure

Hello.
I caught a black stinging caterpillar about 1 and a half weeks ago.
He made a cocoon, which makes a moth.
A chrysilis makes a butterfly.
He is black, white, and orange.
These pictures are of the same moth.
Does anyone know what type it is?

I also went boat riding. We saw a lot of alligators. There was one that was on a log. I have a picture. The green on him is algae. There was another one that ran off the bank and into the water. There were so many. I don't think I can name them all .

This is an alligator in the water:

There was a part of the bayou where it dropped into a big ditch. It drops 5 or 6 feet.
It is a dam. Their was a snake by the drop.

When I was cutting the grass I saw a toad by the swimming pool.
I found 2 more by the tree house. I don't have a picture .

Bye.
Bugs and the Bricks Down Under

The other day I was moving bricks for my grandmother. It was muddy
under the bricks. I saw a lot of roly-polys under them. A
roly-poly is a pill bug.
I also saw lots of spiders, a snail, and a worm.

Today I saw a black bug in our swimming pool. I think it was a
water strider because it looked like it was skimming across the water.
I also saw a cricket near the pool.

Have you seen any bugs?

This band is called The BugManJoes. Cool, huh?
My Bug Collection

Hey, everyone.
I have a bug collection.
It is made up of: grasshopper

cicada

cicada shell

moth

bombardier beetle

water bug shell

butterfly wing

and 2 beetles (I have to find their names)

I also have some bees' honey comb, a paper wasp nest, and a cool rock
that I broke with another rock. It has flint inside it.

Now I have a joke for you, but it's not a bug joke:
Why did Superman cover himself in mayonaise?
Because he wanted to make a hero sandwich.

Godzilla
Today I caught a reptile.
It was Godzilla! He
shoots fire from his mouth!
Just
joking.
It was a 5cm lizard. It
bit me. It did not hurt. He
has small teeth.

Here is a picture
.

Bug Hunting

Hello bug fans, this is Bug Man Joe!
Today I'm going to talk to you about snails.
Did you ever see a snail when it's head is out of its shell?
I have. I have a picture of one to show you.
I caught a lot of bugs today, but I'm going to show you the snail I caught.
The reason I'm telling you about the snail is because it is the coolest
because I've never caught one before. It is a small snail.
I caught it using a bug vacuum. I also have a habitat for my bugs to live in.

Snails are not bugs. They are mollusks. Mollusks include snails, squids, and octopi.
This is my snail inside the bug habitat. It is climbing up the side of the mountain.

I
also caught some beetles. I caught some small ones and some
larger ones. It was hard to get them with my vacuum because they
were hanging on to the grass. They were also digging through the
dirt. I found them at my grandma's house.

I also got three roly-polys. We found a jack-pot of them, but only took 3 so the family could keep growing.

I caught 2 centipedes too. They are kind of like worms with
legs. They get under things and crawl in circles. They are
hard to catch especially when they swim through the dirt. It
looks like they swim. It was so tough my vacuum couldn't suck it
up so I had to use my tweezers to catch it.

I found a lot of cool bugs today. Tomorrow I will catch more and write all about them.

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you enjoy the adventures of BugMan Joe!

Hello! This is bug man joe.
Did you find bugs?
I have found a grasshopper.

Heres a question for you:
What spider has 10 legs?
a sea spider.
It's true. Look it up. :-)

I read about wasps today.
Wasps have8 legs.
They only sting for a reason.
They have 4 legs.
for instance. They eat mosquitoes, which is bad for the
mosquitoes but good for us.

My name is Bug-Man Joe because I like bugs and science.

This is an example of how a frog eats a bug. Thank you. Good night.
