Homeschoolsurvivor - Homeschool Blogger

The memories of a college student on her many adventures with her homeschool family. An encouragement to all homeschooling families--I was homeschooled from Kindergarden all the way through highschool, and would be now in college if I could!

I'm taking home ecconomics

"Hey, are you taking home ecc this semester?" When you're a homeschooler, this is an unnecessary question, you're always taking home ecc! Your math lesson for the day can consists of doubling a recipe for dinner, your P.E. is often cleaning the house, and one of the best chemistry lessons is how to get ketchup out of your new Easter dress! The best part of home ecc for a homeschooler, is that you're really at home. It is an ever present subject, with lessons every day. From grocery shopping, to babysitting, to kissing and bandaging boo-boos. My favorite part of home ecc was watching how my parents interacted. I used to go "Eww, gross" when Mom and Dad kissed or showed any sign of affection, but I loved it. Every kiss and hug and I love you made my home and life more secure. I knew that as long as Mom and Dad loved each other, and loved God, everything would be alright. I've got to go now, today we're perfecting the fine art of sharing a bathroom on Sunday morning!

1 Timothy 4:12

This first entry is an encouragement to all the kids being homeschooled. Look up 1 Timothy 4:12, I've also written it for you below:
"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."
The old addage "children should be seen and not heard" is in no way true! People really do watch us, and they will decide by our actions whether or not we are worth listening too! God knows that kids really do make a difference in this world, especially when we are living for his glory!
Be encouraged!
