Hey there! Meet the two cutest puppy dogs in Texas--Reilly O'brien, an F1 Labradoodle, and Dixie's Southern Belle, a Labrador. You can call us Dixie and Reilly--never could figure out why our owners gave us those long handles! Anyhow, we're the co-writers here at Doodle Crossing, so come on in and enjoy!

Labradoodles!

Reilly here! Dixie and I extend our humble apologies for our long disappearance--we were busy running and playing and cleaning up the leftovers from Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not a bad life, overall.

But today I decided to give you a rundown on a very interesting topic: me! Labradoodles, to be exact. I'm gonna give you a picographic...er, pictagraphic...um, pictographic history of me and my brothers and sisters.

This is us on the night we were born. That's my mom, Annie. There were five boys and three girls to begin with, but one of my brothers was stillborn, so that brings the total to seven. We were born in my owner's (writer4him) room, at 3:00 AM.

Here we are again. Now tell me honestly--have you ever seen anything half so cute??

This is one of us at about a week and half. One of the cats had kittens a few weeks before we were born, so we got to grow up together.

Our eyes opened at about two weeks (the same time we got moved outside to the patio!). We got to see our family and each other for the first time!

It took awhile longer, but at last we got brave enough to play in the grass. Here's one of my brother's pretending to be a tiger.

Of course, some of us were happier just laying around...

This is my owner's little sister. She loved playing with us! Now I'm bigger than she is, though, and she yells at me when I jump on her.

This *clears throat* is my first self-portrait. Cute, aren't I?

This is my sister Kenzie, the mischievous one of the bunch and the first to figure out how to climb the fence! Of course, I figured it out not long after, but...

And here we are, at the almost-present day. This is one of the first days Dixie came home. As you can see, we got along magnificently...naw, I'm just kidding. We were just playing...but you'll notice who's on top...

Dixie's Diary...

First off, Reilly would like to thank Moonflower and Jessica for participating in her caption contest! Since there were only two of them, there's no real winner--both were great! Check out the post below to see them.

Dear Diary,

It's been getting perty cold down here in Texas--sometimes I think Reilly has an advantage being a Labradoodle, with her long fuszzy coat, but then I remember the obvious shortcomings of the breed. They have a brain that's half poodle, for example.
Guess what? In a few weeks, I will be nationally recognized as the top dog of Texas! Well...statewide, at least. And that's counting on the fact that I win the photo contest. Here's the picture:

You may think it's slightly degrading to be dressed up in your sleep just so you can have your picture taken--I mean, people try to take advantage of how cute I am! But I decided to forgive my owners, since I will be the Top Dog, anyway. I figure it's worth it.

This is the picture Annie is submitting to the contest. She's Reilly's mom. It's really not fair, you know--I don't get to live with my mom! Ah, well. At least I have that feeling of independence...
As for Reilly...well, you know how she is. She's just not very photogenic. You know, my owner Beth tried to get a picture of her all day yesterday and couldn't get one! Of course, I shouldn't be too surprised...Reilly wouldn't have made much of a Top Dog anyway.

All for now,

~Dixie

Reilly's Caption Contest!

Reilly here, with our first-ever caption contest! Now this'll require some participation from y'all, so I expect a whole lot of comments! Here we go:

(that's one of my brothers!!) So, what would you title it? Looking forward to your captions!

An Uneventful Day and A Trip to the Vet

Hello all you wonderful fans! Dixie here, and I'd like to start by clearing up that little observation Reilly brought up in her last post. You see, I am not a hog when it comes to food. That picture was taken several weeks ago, when I was still a little puppy, so you can't blame me for falling asleep in the middle of a meal. Understand? Reilly, on the other hand...well.

So now I'll introduce to you the real me:

Talk about a noble face!! *glares at Reilly*

Anyway, yesterday I had to go to the vet . She gave me two shots! It was ugly. But, afterwards everyone simply drooled over me....so in the end it was worth it!

All for now!

Meet the writers!

Howdy! Since no one out there'll know who we are, I figured I should take a moment and introduce us:

Reilly (that's me!):

Ah, the noble face....I'm the cutest one around here, no question about it. I'm an F1 Labradoodle--you know, the trendiest dog on the market? I'm smart, cute, fuzzy, and the all-out best dog ever!!

Dixie:

I couldn't tell you how it happened, but Dixie just didn't inherit that "noble dog" look. That's typical Dixie for you--sleeping with her nose in the food bowl! Must be a lab thing. Me, I never hog food--it's strictly against my code of ethics. Share and share alike, I say. It all comes down to....

Huh??? That picture was not supposed to be shown!!! Folks, listen close--that is NOT a food bowl! No matter what Dixie tells you, it's not a food bowl. I don't hog food, remember? I, uh, think that wraps it all up...see you around!

~Reilly

P.S. It's not a food bowl. Really.
