Aquaculture

Hey everyone!! Sorry I haven't posted for so long, but now I actually have something to talk about!!

Does anyone have a pool? I sure do, and it's a hassle. Last year, we spent $3000 on it and we swam four times!!! Low profit, majorly. So, my dad introduced me and my family to aquaculture.

Aquaculture is where you raise your own fish! Not like your goldfish or anything. I'm saying like the 20 pounders. Major fishing. We are going to grow our own fish!! If it gets too populated in the pool, we just have a fishing party. Whatever you catch, you keep! Cool huh?

Also, we're thinking of putting a greenhouse in the backyard. We'll grow our own fruit and veggies!! I love it!! So cool!!

This is the end of my entry. Hope you enjoyed it.

DISC

At SLU, I took a personality test called DISC. I'm an S.

D stands for Dominent; D's are controlling, thinks he's always right, and gets stuff done.

An example of a D is when a D walks into a room full of chairs, he will reorganize the chairs in that room. Just because he can.

I stands for Inspiring; I's are people people, they influence with voice and emotion, the party planner, careless, likes to be involved, and goes with the flow.

An example of I is when an I walks into the room and sees the D moving chairs, the I walks out of the room, gathers his friends together and says, "Lets all move chairs! It'll be great!" So they move the chairs every which way.

S stands for Steady; S's are sincere, makes friends very easy, always has a good reason to influence, possessive, cares, doesn't like deadlines, and is trustful.

An example of S is when an S walks into the room and sees the D and I moving chairs, they go, "Ooooh. I don't think you should do that. Whoever set those chairs up took time to do that. You're messing it up." The D looks at the S and says, "Shut up!" The I looks at the S and says, "Ah, come on, it'll be fun!"

C stands for Correct; C's influence with fact, are orderly, task-oriented, at war with D, is annoying, and thinks everyone but them is wrong.

An example of C is when a C walks into the room, sees the D moving chairs because he can, the I moving the chairs every which way, and the S weeping in the back, he automaticlly yells, "STOP!!! You're all doing it wrong! If you had done it the way I thought up, you would have had a 43% increase in productivity." The D looks at the C and says, "Shut up!" The I looks at the C and says, "Hey, loosen up, it'll be great!" And the S looks at the C and says, "I know. I told them, but they wouldn't listen."

I wish I could give you the test and see for yourself who you are, but it's copyrighted, sorry.

SLU 101&201

SLU stands for Student Leadership University.

I just got back from 201, so I have been gone from home for two weeks. I practically cried when I saw my family come to meet me at the airport. I missed them so much!

SLU 101 is at Orlando, Florida, and we learned how to be ourselves when it comes to leadership.

If you aren't envious right now, you will be!

I don't just take sessions all the time, we sometimes get to have fun!

I got to go to Seaword AND Universel Studios at Orlando! It was awesome! I would love to go back again!

I got to pet the dolphins and get wet by Shamu, and I got to see the sharks swim by me, and all that seperated me from the sharks was glass. Good thing I didn't have a Great White moment when the biggest shark comes swimming right for the glass.

SLU 201 is in Washington D.C. and I got pictures of the Capitol building and the White House. I also toured the Lincoln memoriol, the Arlington cemetary, (where I got to see the changing of the guard) the Vietnam wall where I found out that one of my friends is related to someone on the wall. So that was cool.

I might be going to 301 next year. 301 is in Paris, France. So I need to brush up on my French.

Birds

I started Zoo Crew on the 9th of June and I will end in August, not sure about the day.

Right now, I am typing this at the Zoo where the bird office is. So far everyone has been nice to me, but the hours are long.

We have three birds which are my favorites: a Go-away bird (don't laugh, that is the sound that it makes when it calls) its name is Mr. McHopsyPants. (Okay, now you can laugh)

The second bird that I like is a green parrot named Krusty and today he bit me, so right now, he's not one of my favs.

The last one is actually a group of birds in one cage. They are canaries and whenever I go into the walk-through cage, they swarm onto my head and shoulders. It's awesome! I entertain a lot of guests when I clean the canaries cage.

I will be working with the birds in the main section, so I will be wearing a hat.

I really look forward to this, but my scheduele tells me to get up at four in the morning. So pray for me that I survive the summer.

Driver's license

My fellow teenagers, do you have your license yet?! I don't! And I am so frustrated!

My mom did get me the Driver's Ed in a Box but we never got around to it and it is making me so mad!

Fire hose duel

When my dad just got out of college, he got a job as a fireman. He quickly made friends with the other firemen that worked there, including some pranksters.

To describe the setting, the firehouse is on top of a hill in the middle of town. In the building there is a drain in the middle of the lot where the firetrucks park. After so many washes of the trucks, the drain needs to be cleaned out.

One day, one of the pranksters decided to clean out the drain, with the captain not knowing. And, with the captain not knowing, he decided to clean out the drain too.

Anyway, the prankster decided to use the fire hose to clean out the drain on the other side.

Gravel gets stuck in the drain holes, so the captain went down on all fours to pick the gravel out.

So when the prankster looked up and saw the captain, he got an idea. He called, "Captain!" The captain looked up, the prankster turned on the water, the stream of water hit the captain in the forehead, and, since firehose blasts are so powerful, sent the captain head over heels across the lot.

Not to be outdone, the captain waited for the opertune moment to catch him off guard.

After about two days had gone by, the prankster felt the call of nature, and went to relieve himself.

As everybody knows, for the non-handicaped stalls, the doors swing inward, but not outward. Also, the stall he was in happened to have a window above it.

The captain got the fire hose, snuck up to the window, and turned on the water. At this time, the prankster was just finished and was just about to open the stall door, when he heard a branch snap. He spun around only to be plastered to the door by a blast of water. And since the door didn't swing outward, he was stuck there for a good two minutes while the captain was enjoying himself.

The prankster never again pulled a prank on the captain
