Who has bigger eyes?

I was talking to Hannah today about who has bigger eyes, I'm sure we could get into a whole debate on this, but that would be, as Hannah might put it, "BORING"(especially when there are other things to be doing, like tag and hiding-seek) So what do you think... I'm hoping for a lot of comments :-)

Clearly, Hannah has the caffeine helping her here.

Desperate for Jesus: Desperation.

Hello everyone. Now it's time for the long waited upon post.

Listen to this song as you read the post.

As many of you know Abby and I went to Colorado last week to a conference called Desperation.
Now I must confess, I started off on this trip with a prideful attitude, thinking that I would not learn that much. The main reason I thought I was going was so Abby could go. But God has a plan bigger than any have ever seen.

I've been to Concerts before with all the lights, the loud music, and the excitement and "felt" close to God in those times, but I realize that one doesn't have to go to a place to meet God. None the less, God still uses events and people to speak to us. The image that I had labeled Desperation with was with that of "hype" or thinking that it might be fake. I was thinking, if I'm honest, I'm more righteous than most of the people going there: a prideful attitude. God can use events like these for any one. My eyes were looking at the outside and thinking of all the negative things possible, but God showed me the heart and many positive things.

That night Dave Perkins, pastor of Desperation, spoke about "Being amazed by God". He said things such as, "Some people say they don't want another spiritual high. I do!! I want one today, and tomorrow, and the next day and the day after that!". I was like, WOW! The more I listened the more I was convicted from my attitude. I've come to realize, that I have not been pursuing God as desperately as I should be, but have become more stagnate... on cruise control. This is why Desperation was so awesome! This is why God is so awesome!!!

Day after day, is was more of Jesus. All of the pictures I took were just of the crowds and people here and there and some mountains. They don't nearly describe how it was to be there: they can't describe God. It's amazing to be in a room with 4,000+ people all worshiping God. One of the things I would think is, "you know most of these people probably will just go back to there regular way of life when they go home", and some may have, but who am I to doubt God? I should be believing. "Always believing, never doubting" ( Percy from the Scarlet Pimpernel).

What blew me away is this:
New life Church has recently been raising money to build orphanages in Africa and a business man has said that he will match what they raise. After the speaker was done sharing there were people asking if they could give. That night they gave $15,000. The orphanages cost $30,000. From the June conference one orphanage will be built. They took an offering as well in the July conference. The people gave, $44,000. Way above any ones expectations. this only amounts to $11 dollars per person, but still... two orphanages will be built in Africa now.

The theme was "Light Up the World" (Matt 5:16)

Cool quotes,

"The most neglected thing in the kingdom of God is God Himself" -- Deborah Hiebert

"Do I know Jesus more this year than the last"

So that was my week, and what God has been doing in me.

Never underestimate God.

Jesus loves you.
