Un-Reconstructed American Patriot - Homeschool Blogger

I blog about mostly government, current events, and American history from a Southern constitutionalist point of view. And anything else I want to talk about.

Jewish Confederate

I just wanted to share this with yall.

Michael Anthony, a Mississippian, wrote this in a letter to the editor:

"As a Jew, I am extremely proud of the South and the way Jews were treated in the antebellum South. For those uninformed, Jews were treated as equals and brothers in a South that was overwhelmingly conservative Christian. Jews were allowed to own land, their own stores and work without fear of persecution or harm."

Follow this link to read the whole letter. It is very revealing, especially to those who are products of the public school system. http://www.ddtonline.com/articles/2007/05/11/news/letters/letters4.txt (This link is dead.)

Immigration Reform

Here is an idea for those illegal immigrants who truly want to obtain citizenship while continuing to live and work (illegally) in America and don't want to be deported.

It's called "Please Take A Number."

Each head of household must register with Immigration officials, he will then receive a number representing his/his family's place in the line of people (the end at the time of registration) in his native country that are in the "legal entry" process. Once his/their number comes up, he/they will go through the same process, and will have to meet the same criteria, as any other prospective immigrant. If he/they receive anything less than a "passing grade" he/they will be immediately deported.

However, this isn't a free ride. He/they possibly broke the law to get here, and are definitely breaking the law just by being here. He/they must pay some sort of a fine. Here is my proposal.

Financial penalties would consist of:

$1000 per month per working adult
$200 per month per school-age child, ages 6-18
Ineligibility for Social Security and Welfare

Restrictions and requirements:

    Subject to nighttime curfew
Subject to random visits by Immigration officials, at least two visits per month
Required to check in at any Immigration office in the he/they registered in

Things requiring deportation (no ifs, and, or buts):

Commission of two misdemeanors requires immediate deportation
Commission of a felony requires immediate deportation after sentence is served
Possession of any amount of any illegal drug/substance requires immediate deportation

Participation in this program would be completely voluntary, anyone not wishing to paticipate would be deported. Registration must occur within three months of implementation of the the program, all others would be deported.

All money raised by this plan would be used to hire new Border Patrol agents.

Now, does anyone out there think that this would ever be passed by the Congress, or signed by the President (be it Bush or anyone else). Well, it could happen if enough people backed it.

Marine Recruiter Shows Ignorance

Saturday, while I was talking to a Marine Recruiter, he stated that "the Marines are the oldest branch of the military, even older than the Constitution" (emphasis his), implying that the Marines are not necessarily under the authority of the Constitution. He obviously has not thought this through. How can the United States Marine Corp (USMC) be older than the Constitution of the United States? There was no United States before the Constitution of 1787 was ratified by nine states. How then could the United States, which did not exist at that time, have a Marine Corp? There may have been marines, small m, in America prior to the ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America but there could not have been a USMC. Therefore, since the USMC cannot exist outside of the Constitution, they must be under the authority of it.

Forcing Foreign Policies

Recently at a press conference President Bush was asked by a reporter why he is accusing previous administrations of not properly handling the North Korea issue when his record includes North Korea’s nuclear missile test on his watch.

Since when has successful foreign policy consisted of being able to tell another country what they can and cannot do and expecting them to comply? Does the sovereignty of other independent countries mean anything to us anymore? Or has the idea of global community so permeated our society that we tend to forget that we are citizens of a state or country and think instead of ourselves as world citizens? Does the U. S. government think they govern the world?

Nowhere, in Article 1, Section 8, of the U. S. Constitution, is the President given the job "Policeman of the World" or "Minister of World Peace." And yet the federal government acts as though they believe they set the rules for the world. Their actions give the impression of an empire, not a republic.

A Family for Freedom

According to the Webster’s 1828 dictionary:

Family: One man, one woman, and children, living and growing together in faith and life, using the Scriptural commands of God as our basis.
Freedom: A state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty; exemption from slavery, servitude or confinement. Freedom is personal, civil, political, and religious.
So what is a family for Freedom? It is a family that desires to be able to teach and raise their children as they see fit, to worship God as they feel led, and to live their life according to God’s will, unmolested. In short, they want the freedom to be, act, and live like a family.

Could the words family and freedom actually be synonymous if we were really to think about it. We are a family because we have freedom, and because of our freedom, we are a family.

A family should strive to live their life and raise their children according to the Bible, such a family would be a family for freedom.

I believe that this great country wrote its Constitution under the auspices of the Bible and that its founding fathers were very firmly grounded in their belief in the Almighty God.

The prerequisite for this Constitution to function as intended, according to John Adams, was that "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." [Adams, Charles Francis, ed. "The Works of John Adams, Second President of the United States: Volume IX." Boston: Little, Brown, 1854, p. 229.] Their intention was for this country to be a free country which would allow its citizens to worship that same Almighty God and line their lives with their God-given rights, unhindered by a tyrannical government. Our Constitution does not, and I pray to God, will never, force us to put our belief in the Almighty God aside to allow other gods and belief systems to overrule us. The family for freedom raises their children to know that all people are created equal, none are less than another, none are more, but that the Almighty God is the rule maker and determines right and wrong. Man, no matter what position he holds, has no authority to change God’s definition of right and wrong.

Therefore as American citizens who are first and foremost Christians, we believe that the Bible is our rule book and the Constitution sets the rule for the American government. Not to add more or change the rules – but to enforce the rules already given and to limit the power of the government to that which the founding fathers have already determined to be correct. The Constitution, like the Bible, is not a living document that changes with the times but is a standard written to be applicable and unchangeable forever more. It does not evolve, it is not a changing standard. Franklin Sanders has said, about the Constitution, "to say that it is living, is to say that it is dead." An evolving "standard" is no standard.

Such a family will not stand idly by and watch their rights be taken away. Daniel Webster said, "A good Christian is a good citizen."

So as we raise our families and as all future parents raise their children, we must fight to keep the freedom that we were given by the Almighty God in the Bible.

We must also hold our American government accountable to accept and remain under the authority of the founding documents that were declared necessary so as to prevent this government from attempting to tyrannize the people.

Having a Great Time Hunting Ice Age Fossils in Arcadia, FL

Here I am sitting at a computer in The Snowbird's Hall at the Peace River Campground in Arcadia, FL. It is one of the prettiest places in Florida. I am surrounded by friends, Creation Expeditions, which is the homeschool family that found the Allosaurus, "Ebenezer," made famous by the video "Raising The Allosaurus".
It is Thursday evening and very soon we will begin a weekend filled with friendship, fossils, and fun. The Peace River Fossil Float begins Thursday evening with an introduction to the Ice Age and Ice Age fossils (including Saber-Tooth cats, Giant Ground Sloths, and many others), Friday we have a shore dig, and Saturday we take a canoe trip down the Peace River stopping along the way to dig for fossils. It is one of the only opportunities I know of for homeschool families to be able to learn about and hunt for Ice Age fossils, and everything is done from a Biblical Creation and family-friendly standpoint. For more information on trip dates and costs, please visit Creation Expeditions' website.
