<title>Gardening at Christmas?</title>
<description>Oh sisters, what a weird garden this has been!&amp;nbsp; I planted cabbage, brussels sprouts, and broccoli in the end of August.&amp;nbsp; I still have not reaped anything from this garden but have cabbages the size of soft balls, broccoli the size of a silver dollar and tiny sprouts.&amp;nbsp; David jokes that we may just get a very early spring crop!&amp;nbsp; It has been below freezing 22 days this December in the early morning.&amp;nbsp; I just knew we would lose it all but those little plants just keep chugging right along.&amp;nbsp; I just need them to hurry so that I can prepare my garden for the spring planting.&amp;nbsp; What a weird little garden I have!</description>

<title>About this blog...</title>
<description>Hey everyone!
&amp;nbsp;
I wanted to start a blog just so everyone can see how we live on our little homestead here in Atlanta.&amp;nbsp; When I say something about my chickens people always respond, &quot;I thought you lived in Atlanta&quot;.&amp;nbsp; Well,&amp;nbsp;we do.&amp;nbsp; Right smack dab in the middle of it.&amp;nbsp; We have a garden, chickens, dogs, cats, a lizard, a turtle, and many exotic birds.&amp;nbsp; The land that I live on used to be my grandfather's garden.&amp;nbsp; He kept his chicken house back here and grew all of his veggies.&amp;nbsp; His backyard head all of his ducks, turkeys, and pet chickens, hunting dogs, and even a bull at one time.&amp;nbsp; My grandmother gave us this property behind her house 3 years ago so we could live near her.&amp;nbsp; We enjoyed that for a year until she passed away.
&amp;nbsp;
I live on my little farm with my wonderful hubby David and three children, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Charlie.&amp;nbsp; We have homeschooled for 4 years and love it!&amp;nbsp; Right now, we are just taking it easy as we always take off the entire month of December.
&amp;nbsp;
We are Independent Fundamental Baptist and attend Berean Baptist in Ellenwood, GA.&amp;nbsp; Yes, we wear dresses full time and no, we do not cut our hair anymore (we used to but it is growing out now).
&amp;nbsp;
I am going to be adding some great recipes to this site as well as some bits of wisdom that I have learned over the years.&amp;nbsp; I hope you will enjoy this site as much as I will enjoy working on it.
&amp;nbsp;
Thanks for visiting and please stop by again!
