Learning Links - Homeschool Blogger

MamaBugs' listing of online resources for homeschooling. I hope to be able to provide you with some neat and interesting links that will enhance your homeschooling adventure. This idea is based on a column I wrote a few years ago called "Arm Chair Site Seeing". I will simply post the links and a brief description of each ones attributes organized by subject. You just click on the category or subject that you need info on and voila! There you go! My personal recommendations for sites to peruse. I will try to make sure each and every link is safe for your family but as with all things internet PLEASE use caution. What can one day be a safe and harmless site can change drastically overnight due to hackers, etc.

C-SPAN Classroom

C-SPANClassroom.org, our new web site for Civics and U.S. Government teachers, launches today! C-SPAN Classroom worked with its Teaching Fellows this summer to create a site that would make it even easier for middle and high school civics and government teachers to bring C-SPAN video into their classrooms. Our new site offers short clips of C-SPAN video and other resources such as PDFs and relevant links, organized by six major topic areas based on national and selected state standards: --Principles of Government--U.S. Constitution--Legislative Branch--Executive Branch--Judicial Branch--Political ParticipationC-SPAN Classroom will update these video clips weekly, and sometimes daily, to provide Civics and U.S. Government teachers the most useful and topical content. Each of these video clips have also been linked to national and selected state standards.View our new site here!http://www.c-spanclassroom.org/

Okay YES! I'm Pouting!

I've frantically been trying to add links and create this blog between Shakespeare rehearsals and maybe I am just tired but I am pouting because I have only had a couple comments and only one friend register. BOO HOO! Maybe there isn't a need for this and I should save my time and energy?

Great Performances PBS

For the past few years we have been blessed to be able to participate in a program with our local opera theater company. Our girls lives have been enriched tremendously by it. In order to prepare for each upcoming opera we visit PBS' site on Great Perfromances. Lesson plans by grade/age levels, information, etc.
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/education/education.html
You will need to spend some time browsing around here to see eveything they ahve to offer you in the various art forms of performing. Check often as it is updated seasonally as best I can figure it. Double check what is currently being offered on PBS this season too in order to round out your lessons.
