Los ninos en la casa - Homeschool Blogger

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Psalm 139: 13-16

poie'ma

"The Bible tells us that we are God's masterpieces

(Greek poie'ma): not only creatures, but

His creations. His poems (Ephesians 2:10). We are

living epistles (2 Corinthians 3:3). And so, our lives are meant to be listened to, because it is God who is speaking into and out of and through them, through the parable of each day, the symphony of the years, and the masterpiece of a lifetime. If He is speaking through our lives, then nothing else matters but listening to Him."

I'm back

It has been a loooong time since I last posted. Life has gotten busy and duties have been neglected....

I think I am coming out af a very long hibernation. Winter has passed, spring has passed and now summer is upon us, and I finally awake.

My dc have been attending part time school this year (2 days at school and 3 at home). While it has been a wonderful experience for all of us, I feel the Lord calling me to bring the kids back home full time. It has been a hard decision to make because we really love the friends we have made at school... and also because I don't get to have to mornings a week when I am childless.

Know I need to sit down and prepare for next school year ( second grader, first grader, and very eager to be part of the action 2 year old). I am dizzy with all the wonderful options out there. How do people narrow down their choices? Just when I think I have narrowed it down to two choices I find more wonderful stuff to look at. Ugh!!! Choices!!!! But I should not complain, it could be worse, I could have no choices at all.....

Well, that is all for today. I look forward to the choices that need to be made and to the new road that God has set before us.

Veterans Day

I guess I woke up in an introspective kind of mood today. My oldest DD wrote a thank you note to a veteran yesterday for one of her writing assignments. She proceeded to give it to my husband, who served in the Army what seems like a lifetime ago. It kind of took me by surprise since I forgot that he was ever in the military (it was before we were married). He never served in a war. But nonetheless, that little act served to remind me of all our soldiers fighting at this time. They are somebody's husband or wife, somebody's daddy or mommy somebody's son or daughter. I've read so many heart wrenching stories about the soldiers who died and the people they leave behind. Sometimes I want to cry out to God why, why does this have to happen? And yet at the same time can even begin to ask God to let me understand these things, it would just tear me to pieces. So I'm just reminded time and time again that we serve and awesome, faithful God. So merciful that He would not let us understand all the atrocities going on because there is no way we could survive the pain. So today I want to say thank you not only to the soldiers fighting, now or who have ever fought or serve, but also to their families who have made the ultimate sacrifice in letting their loved ones go to war, knowing that they may never come home.

My first one

Well, I just subscribed to TOS magazine, got my first issue and had to come over to see what all the blogging was about

Pretty cool I must say!! I could spend hours and hours and hours just reading, reading and reading. Of course my children would grow hungry, my house would get messy (or I should say messier) and my husband would come to disaster... soooooo, instead I shall write a blog of my own

I will be back often to see what everyone is up to, to read my favorite blogs and write some about the happenings here in our home in sunny California

See you soon!
