Week #6 Meme

¶THEME

Awhile back Mother Dear received a question on what snack foods to buy for homeschooling families, on the go or at home, and she inspired this week’s theme. There are so many different kinds of snack foods, store-bought and homemade, and I would like to invite you to share what snack foods your family usually snacks on throughout the week. You’re welcome to make season lists too. I know there are different meals we eat during the colder seasons than we do in the warmer ones, and I imagine there are also seasonal snack foods as well.

My Theme: mmmm Good
Week #4 Meme

¶THEME

Planning your homeschool is a lot of fun, especially if you’re going to be trying something new. Just like finding a shiny new penny you’re excited to use it. Mother Dear has been planning some new curriculum for us, and I am plenty excited to get started on it. This week I hope you’ll share something new you’re using, why you’ve decided to use it, and if you have used it how you like it. Make sure to include the publishing information and where you got it from so others can look into if they like.

ßeing I've gotten a wonderful and spiritually uplifting teenager. I would have to say that I enjoy the Bible lesson were doing. Following God Character Series II, Life Principles from the Woman of the Bible "Book 1". The way the lessons are and the area that it strikes such wonderful lessons for our daughter. Life examples to focus upon, learning that you can't change the past. Focus on the present through Gods directions and he will guide you. How to make those choices through the daily lessons that are wonderful place together. I see us going to Book 2 and can't wait to have fun learning something new.

Week #3 Meme

Week #3 Routines

¶THEME

I hope last week’s theme helped you get a bigger view and maybe some ideas about different ways to homeschool or curriculum. There is so much to share and so I hope this helped, especially the new homeschoolers, narrow things down a bit. I am sure some of you are still getting into your homeschool routines. I know some people are very routine oriented while others may be more “day-by-day”, and it all depends on your family and what works best for your life-style. This week please post what your planned homeschool routine is. The theme banner should give you some ideas on how to do that. I had fun making that and adding in real info (except for the times! lol).

When you’re done posting your routines please share your prayers for this school year, and then sign the linky so others can visit.

Were still waiting for the kids baseball and softball schedules to start them with Tae Kwon Do. My Prayers are for the year to stay with in our mission of our schedule.
Week 2 meme

This week’s theme is about sharing your 2008-09 homeschool agendas and plans. You’ve been preparing your plans for sometime and you’re ready to go. Or you’re still in the planning-stage and need some inspiration or tips on what to use. Because many use different curriculum and methods there is always something new to be gleaned from other homeschoolers. It’s always fun and interesting to see what other’s are using and the WWWWH as Robin Sampson suggests. So this week I hope you will share what you’re doing this year for your homeschool agenda. Share the different curriculum you’re using. You can also include what age/grade you’re using it for, how long you’ve been using it, and why you like it.

Please share a Bible verse that has encouraged you or inspired you during this planning-process, and how.

Women of the Bible (Book 1) (one semester)

Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

How this verse lead me: During my walk on should I homeschool the girls. This one verse kept coming back to me. I was lead in so many different ways, how can I do this, how about the social issues, is this what she really needed. I'm I going to be able to handle this? These were questions crossing my mind & kept coming up. It was time I put it 150% into the Lords hand and let him show me. He will guide me for I had faith in that. I let this verse show me my path, I'm happy that I did it. I know the kids enjoy this too, being homeschooled and enjoying life.

Week 1 Meme

The first theme begins today, August 20th, 2008. This week, we want to hear about YOU. The author behind the words. The Momma behind all the homeschooling kiddos. Just write up something about you, your family, and your home. How long you’ve been homeschooling and why you decided to homeschool. It doesn’t have to be anything lengthy at all, but we’d love to hear it! You might include a family photo too!

Morning I'm Debbie, homeschooling mom to 3 kids. Only 1 whom is homeschooling now. Our youngest goes to a special school for him. Were very active family, sports play a big role in our lives. We enjoy softball, baseball, Tae Kwon Do. Being active is something that we choose to do with our lives. I also work a 30 hour work week. So, a lot of my time is spent with the kids and taking care of our home. I hop on the computer when I have a chance.
We've been schooling our children for 9 years the oldest has completed school and on her own now. It's just the yongest daughter and son now at home. We decided to school our youngest cause she was bored with the Public School. Meaning, she was to active for them. Medication was the term and the way to modifie her life with school. She came out of school the following year, cause I couldn't handle have her medicated. This was a big problem to me being I knew how she really was. She has turned into a wonderful young lady and enjoys being in sports, keeping her life busy between Church & Softball.
Check out our prior post with photo of our youngest daughter.

Neighborhood Pot Luck & Etc

Sunday evening our neighborhood had a potluck at our neighbor park. Some of my neighbor's I've never seen and yet they been here along time. It's so strange the way our lives are in fast mode and yet to stop and smell the roses we get that wonderful bump on the head. Screaming hey.............I've been here forever and today is the day we've meet. The kids and I had a wonderful time, the hubby didn't get to make this one. He had a emergency call and was on call for the weekend. The neighbors and I were taking about how we see these 3 little kids from this one house. They run the neighborhood and the parents don't watch after these kids. The mother/father was not at the pot luck yesterday. Yet the kids were able to run the roads and be at the pot luck unsupervised. I just don't know how people can let the kids run like that at 1 yr old and letting a 6 yr old take care of them. It's just so hard to see something like this. As a lot of you know I'm working too and really enjoying working. I've been able to get a lot done with the extra money and working on minor things that need to be fix or even repaired in the home. What were not able to fix, we've been able to hire someone to do this. Which is truly a blessing too. This week is vacation...................I still have one more week to take off before November.
Organize & Cleaning Is The Way

I've gotten off next week. My vacation time is almost here. The kids and I have so many wonderful plans ahead with cleaning, painting, yard work & goof off time to. I've already gotten their list together for school and what is needed. Have the file cabinet organized and ready to go. Will be working on changing around the computer/ dinning area. That will become the Computer/ Living room area. Some other things were working on is the younger daughter is painting her room. Changes and so many wonderful changes to come.

I'll also be working on my fall cleaning on the computer. Cleaning area's that haven't been used in awhile.
What kinda of things you can do for your computer and keeping running smooth.

1. Clean out your bookmarked area.
2. Cleaning your add/remove hardware area. (not used in last 6 months get rid of it)
3. E-mail 'cleaning your spam/ remove junk mail (mark as not wanted 'spam')
4. Clean around vent area (don't blow into your tower, take off cover and spray blowing out of the tower)
If you know how to clean you tower in the inside, you should do this when needed. I clean mine 2 times a year. My tower stays on the computer and not the floor area. Due to little dust bunnies.
5. clean my filing drawer and update tabs/folders
6. Up date meetings on my phone for next month.
7. De-Frag the computer (get rid of old files)
8. Put my cable organizer on..

I also need to go through my totes for the year. Maps, papers, projects and etc. Get everything ready and organized through them. So as you can see many little projects upon our list of *To Do's*

Let me here your feedback!! Gotten any awesome tricks to do and what challenges to you have.

Let's here those comments...............
My Reading List

The last couple of months have not only been a blessing to me. However a challenge to me, yet how and why would it be? Times I think I have this built in a radar in me. Tells everyone to come to me for marriage or issue of marriage issues. Even though I really enjoy reading, mainly books from Stormie Omartian and her issue on life and etc. I find myself in my earlier years going through a lot of the same issues. How and why does it seem that so many of us go through the same issues. EX: He leaves his clothes on the floor. She uses my razor and puts it back. Then I end up cutting my face so badly. I know a lot of us have heard the same issues or how it will manifest over time. I will tell anyone whom has been married 3 months to 30 years to read the following book. The power of a Praying Wife. It's so awesome the way she has laid out this issue. I've even brought a few extra and gave it to a co-worker whom are having some problems. Both her and her husband have return to the church community and enjoying each day that has been brought forth. However, like any family whom are trying to see their way through the community 'Church'. Always seem to have some sort of issue's tearing through them the devil trying his best to work on these families. This is where I gave my friend the book and said " Your going to read this". I'll quiz you and see if you are to. I'm telling you to do this for your family your husband. She finished the book today and said, she feels better and noticed a change in the way her spouse is doing things and talking too. Wow! Is the Lord wonderful or what. I just can't believe what a burden "worry" this has taken off her shoulder's. Yet to her how her praying has lifted her heart too. It's so wonderful how our doors open from one to another. Now before I finish off her today, Stormie has completed yet another book. Yes "Praying Through Deeper Issues Of Marriage". Here's a really awesome write up on the book
Read It Here ! I hope this gives you some wonderful information, it's truly blessed me with 2 other friends whom needed that extra lift.

On my Heart

¶This song has always touched my heart. I'll like to share it today. Showing how the Lord has been able to touch my heart, but my families heart too. I gotten a chance to spend time with family members this weekend. We spent time talking and doing the catch up.... Wow ! How you enjoy these times. (Family Times Together)......

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/I7Xk6sc62EY&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I7Xk6sc62EY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Calloused and bruised
dazed and confused
My Spirit is left wanting something more
Than my selfish hopes
and my selfish dreams
I'm lying with my face down to the floor
I'm crying out for more (crying out for more)

Chorus:
Give me Words to speak
Don't let my Spirit sleep
Cause I can't think of anything worth saying
But I know that I owe You my life
So give me Words to speak
Don't let my Spirit sleep

Every night, every day
I find that I have nothing left to say
So I stand here in silence awaiting Your guidance
I'm wanting only Your voice to be heard
Let them be Your Words
Let them be Your words

(chorus)

I just don't understand this life that I've been living
I just don't understand (x2)
I just don't understand these lies I've been believing
I just don't understand (x2)

(chorus x2)

I know that I owe you my life
Owe my life
Owe my life
(x2)
