Fiddler on the roof and highschool bathrooms

Man, I'm not gonna lie, I think high school bathrooms are revoltingly gross. I was in one today and.... Well, at least the doors were still on the stalls.

And why was I at a high school? We just saw a production of fiddler on the roof that was amazing. Yente was halairious. I must say I never thought a high scool play could be so profesionally done, but really, that was amazing--- the kid who played Perchick couldn't sing a note though, he tried anyhow.

But, I must say I was rather impressed. And of course the Yente made the whole thing especially fantastic. She was the best actor by a landslide in my opinion.

I realized I never wrote about my sorry car search saga. I had a car too. I bought it, and 3 days later, someone failed to yield at a stop sign, crashed into it, and totaled it. So now I'm on the car search again. Actually my brother took me to an auto action yesterday, and we bid on a 2000 chevy cavilier , and won the bid at 1000 dollars even. However, I won't know if the bank will release it for that amount until tomorrow. Let me say though, it is an awesome looking little car. Its black, 2 door, very sporty looking, and well.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that the sale will go through and I can be done searching. I must say I know more about cars than I thought I ever would want to know now. Searching has been quite the experience though.

I will let you all know if I get the car or not, and if I do will have plenty of pictures!
I DO have an honest excuse....

Yes, I have an honest excuse why I have been neglecting you all of late. And I would have written if I hadn't been so tired. I got a job! as a receptionist, and I work pretty late hours, especially on Tues. I don't get home till around 7:30, and by then I'm pretty bushed. However, this week I have off,as the Dr. and his wife are in Florida for the week for some teaching seminars and stuff. So I slept in today... Well, I woke upwhile ago, and then laid in bed, cause I didn't have to get up. So I'm still clad in my pjs.
Tomorrow, weather willing we are going hiking! and my pal Ingrid may be coming! which I'm completely excited about, as the last time I saw Ingrid was.. well a long time ago, and that was only briefly.
So if y'all are lucky, I may have some pictures to show later in the week (and with Ingrid around, they're bound to be well... interesting :) )

This weekend is the Breakout conference! I'm really excited about it, it was so much fun last year. We had our last worship rehearsle on Saturday, and I'm thinking its going to be pretty awesome.

Ok, I'm hungry, Usually I've eaten breakfast about 3 hours ago....
And Hopefully there will be pics to come.
Well, toodle loo!
A few pictures for your enjoyment

I thought I would share this picture with all of you. This was taken back in October. Christina and I were singing at an outdoor wedding, as well as helping set stuff up, so we had to be there early.
So rather than wear my heals in the cold weather the whole time, I brought these slip on shoes thinking "No one is going to see me with these and my dress on...." well, it was rather cold, and we had everything set up, so we decided to make a little trip to Arabica to get something to warm us up. So we get there, and we wonder in, taking our time... Then I looked down. I was still wearing my plaid shoes with my striped dress. I'm hoping no one noticed, as I'm sure I looked rather like a clown :)

This picture was taken in September, and we were hiking with my grandma, aunt and cousins. Well, my mother is slightly afraid ( ok, really afraid) of heights . And none of us kids are. so to "calm" my poor mothers nerves as we went "dangerously" close to the edge ( it was really a good 5 or 6 feet) of the drop off, Christina decided to get a "railing". Which is, as you see a long stick.
We have another picture of them somewhere and they're all leaning over there "railing".

And this is the last picture, which was taken at my Graduation party back in August. I guess Christina (who made this sign) wanted to be sure everyone knew where the bathroom was, so she made this little sign. Notice how it says "No Loitering" lol.

ok, I have lots of stuff to do, good bye!

I'm sorry

I'm afraid I have shamefully ignored you all lately. I apologize though.

However, I can't really say that anything has happened much worth writing about.
I guess I'll start with the beginning of this week, on Sunday.
On Sunday Christina and I were on the worship team for the second time, and worship went amazing!
Then our youth Pastor preached on healing, cause our regular pastor is currently in India.

Then after church we went for a very belated ( almost 6 month) trip out to eat for my sisters brithday. When we turn sixteen, my dad takes us and some of our friends out to eat. So dad took me, Christina ( obviously, as it was her birthday, or rather "half" birthday we were celebrating), Andrea ( my youngest sister) and our friend Calia, and Christina's best friend Abby out to eat at China buffet. I was born in the year of the horse, and was eating green jello, and as jello has horse bi-products in it ( I don't remember how I know this) Christina was accusing me of cannobolism. lol! it we jokingly said that my whole geneology was in that little cube of green jello, and that I was going to take it home and put it on display.

Moday: on Monday I went to get a hair cut at a friend of ours house (Abby's mom did it, actually), and then Christina was talked into getting her hair cut too. My hair is shorter than its been in a long time! perhaps eventually I'll post a picture, but I don't have any on my camera or the computer yet,
Then we went to Khole's to pick out a ring for Christina's 16th birthday (yes it was real late) and I ended up getting one too! I didn't get a ring when I was 16, cause I hadn't wanted one then, and I was planning on getting a ring for my birthday this year, only it was going to be a plain one that said Woman Of God on it.
But I saw the ring I got and loved it! its got a heart shaped aquamarine on it and itty bitty diamonds, on a sliver band. It was originally $200, but by the time we got past the sales ( it was 60% off) and then an additional 20 percent off, it was afordable. Christina's ring is on a gold band with a heart shaped Paradot
(her birth stone) with itty bitty diamonds on it, and it was the exact same price as mine. So its my early birthday present that I get to wear now:)

Tuesday: I babysat to boys from my church from 6:30 A.M. to almost 6:30 p.m. They're homeschooled so I did school with them, and stuff. However by about 1 o'clock I was ready to call it a day and go home:P
Then when I got home my niece and nephew were over ( we were babysitting them so my sister and bro-on-law could go out to eat) and Brady helped me it my supper. Mainly by eating most of my re-heated chicken. And this is after he ate a ton of supper all ready:) but hey, a growing 2 year old has to have his meat.

Wednesday: yesterday was youth group, and it was my second time to teach as a small group leader, and it went well, we actually got through the entire session this time. Last week we only got about half way through it.

And today nothing is happening but a voice lesson later today. And thats about it!
Sorry for making this so insufferably long, but its hard to cram a weeks happenings into one post.
Hopefully next time I'll be more faithful and post more frequently than every couple of weeks!

Tata!
Is this bazaar or what?

Last night I dreamed that we had some personal trainer at our house, and she was working us all to death!
and then I woke up in the middle of night all sore, as if I really had been doing 27 push-ups... Backwards push-ups, to be exact.. I don't even know if thats possible. But anyway, I thought that was strange.

Its snowing again. By tonight we are supposed to have another eleven to seventeen inches, on top of our
about 10-12 inches right now. Its supposedly the biggest snow of the season thus far. Which I thought nothing would top what we had back towards the beginning of the month, which is when we got a foot of snow in 2 days. Now I love snow and winter, but I must tell you, I am slowly getting quite sick of it all. I'm ready for warmth, and not having to wear a jacket and gloves every time I go somewhere.

Last night was worship practice for our church. It was sorta done the non-conventional way, After getting everything set up and plugged in, and going through 1 song, we ended up sitting in the middle of the floor on the stage and singing with just a guitar. For almost 2 hours. I'm not sure what all got done, but needless to say, we will be at church early on Sunday to practice.
On Saturday we had worship practice for the city-wide worship band, and we have several new songs we are practicing. He Is Yahweh, is an amazing song, let me tell you! It gives me chills just listening to it.!
On Sunday we had a meeting for the Wednesday night worship teams that will be starting for Dinner at The Hub ( our churches new outreach, starting Feb 25) and Christina and I will be leading for that some nights.
And last night, I found out I get to be back on the Youth Group worship team! I loved it, but since I left youth group cause of graduating, I've been wishing I could still be on it. But now since I'm becoming a youth leader starting next week, I was asked to be on it again! woot woot! I'm completely excited... Of not a little
apprehensive, trying to figure out when I'll have time for all of this. Especially when I start working. I'm still praying about and looking around a little for a place to work. I would love to work at Starbucks, but the only one close to us had some... Well, its full of really shall we say... gender confused people. I'd rather not work there. Unfortunately the only other one I can think of is quite a distance away. However, they just put in a new Arabica close to where I live, and I want to put in an application there!

Alright, I'm done! Good bye!
No Title Seems Fitting

Except for the one I wrote. Which, my dear fellow bloggers and readers, is exactly why I wrote it.
I know I've done this before, but as I sit here with a towel wrapped around my wet head, I thought I'd do one again. Do what, you ask? Well, just a few things about me, which you may not already know, depending on who you are.
So, Since I'm rawther bored, I thought I'd tell you all a few things.

My eyes are not Blue. They are, in fact, green. Many people think my eyes are blue, but I assure you they are not. They do, however, have little flecs of blue in them, when observed closely, And they have a strange habit of looking blue and gray. Which is why people mistake them for blue at times, but if they were to ask, I would tell them I they are green.

I am taller than I look. I just look shorter because I have short legs, and so, Bonnie, yes I am taller than Julie- we have measured.

I love to drive. I love love love it, and I can't wait until I get my liscence, cause I love to drive.

A few of my favorite things are my nephew Brady saying my name (Care-ya, is more how he pronounces it) and my niece Rachel with her toothless grin, which she gives after getting her chin rubbed. Don't ask me why, but she loves getting her chin rubbed. And my niece Audrey mis-pronouncing words. And woe to the person who corrected her on how to say Breakfast. I like brefkits much better.

I really wish I had my Borders gift cards with me yesterday when we made a spur of the moment stop there, cause they're was an autographed copy of a book there by Dee Henderson, one of my favorite authors. And I didn't feel like spending money. I am a tight wad at times I admit it.

I like having new clothes and stuff, but I hate spending money on them. Thats why I love sales so much.

Shoe shopping is depressing.

Those fruit snack things I had at church yesterday while baby sitting were really gross.

I don't generally right anymore blog entries on here until after I have had at least 2 comments. Just so I know if anyone is actually reading this thing or not.

I need to go dry my hair, cause I can't go grocery shopping with mom with it up in a towel. I don't really like grocery shopping, but as I will be the one driving, I don't really mind.

Ok, 'nough said. Goodbye.
I am not ambedextrious.

Just thought I'd let you all know. In case by any strange chance you were wondering. I am not ambedextrious. And in case you were further wondering, I spelled ambedextrious incorrectly, so don't go writing any papers about it using my horrible spelling.

Okay, now that that spiel is over, I thought I'd write something of interest, as I now have stuff of interest ( or at least interesting to me, you'll have to let me know what you think.) to write about.

I am very sore. But it is an achyness resulted from much fun, so I don't really care. I went ice skating with my church yesterday, and had a marvelous time. And I didn't fall once. All though I think I have mastered the art of flailing my arms around to keep myself from falling, I had some close encounters, but amazingly managed to save myself from sprawling across the ice, which would have resulted in many more bruises.I'm sure i was a humorous sight. I still have bruises though, from my skates. Goodness, the first pair I wore hurt. I have bruises on my legs from them. But then I went and exchanged them for hockey skates, which was much better.
This is Me and Christina :
Here is the entire group, minus Pastor Josh and Abby:
And here is the ice sculpture that no one can figure out what it is:

On the Cara news front ( No I don't really have one, I just thought I'd say I did) I am now a member of our churches worship team, starting next week, Christina and I will be worked into the rotation. On Saturday
Rehearsles begin with the city-wide worship band we are in ( though most of us don't even live in that particular city) for a youth conference in March called BR8KOUT. We sang there last year and had a blast!
And In February, our church is starting something on Wednesdays called Dinner at the Hub, where we invite homeless and low income families to our church for a hot meal, worship, a message, and a bag of groceries as they leave. Christina and I will be helping lead worship for that as well. And I'm also
going to be a youth leader for our youth group starting in a couple weeks. I really need to start training more people to do the power point for worship on Sunday mornings, cause as of yet, no one knows how to do it but me, and I've done it every Sunday ( aside from ones that I was sick and stayed home ( which was like1 or 2) and once in December, but that was only because I couldn't do it, cause I was in the production) since September doing it.

Well that is my stuff of interest that has happened.
I'm really hungry and should probably go eat some breakfast. All though its really late for that. I got up this morning, read my Bible ( Ephesians 2 and Psalm 22) changed the sheets on my bed, made my bed, which, ladies and gentlemen, I have made every single day for almost a year and a half. then came down stairs to get on here and tell you all that I am not ambedextrious.

Ok, goodbye, I'm done. I need to eat. Tata
      Cara

Hello

I fear I have been rather lazy on the blogging front. I simply didn't feel like posting anything, so I didn't.
I'm still not much in the mood to write anything, but I thought I would just so you know I haven't died or anything. On the contrary, I'm perfectly healthy:)

We have just had the first winter storm front, which ended on Saturday, and we got a foot of snow. The second front is due to start late tonight I think. Just so long as I can still go to my oldest sister's house to stay the night and babysit tomorrow. I love those kids. They are such characters. Lately Audrey has been really into weddings. Probably cause she was a flower girl in both of my brother's weddings. So now she is having pretend weddings and such. And Brady is starting to talk now, and sometimes we can actually figure out what he is saying too! and Rachel is just sweet and tiny and happy and likes to smile.

We are getting that dish network thing because of the antenna tv's won't work in February thing. Mom is scared we'll want to watch tv all the time, but I don't think so. Disney channel is, for lack of a better word, stupid. I've seen the shows on there while babysitting, and quite frankly, they are completely stupid. Who would want to waste there time watching something like they have on there? The only channel I'm excited about is the Home and Gardens channel! I love it when the restore the houses and stuff for selling them, and seeing the before and after pictures.

Gosh, I'm really trying to think stuff up to write. So this isn't a true blog entry, because nothing is coming naturally to write about, and I have to search into the deep chasms of my brain to dig something out worth writing about, and so far to no avail. Usually I think about what I write and how I write it several days before I write anything, thus creating a more interesting post for you all to read. I'm afraid this one is sorely in need of something exciting, and I have nothing to offer you, so I apologize.
Well, g'bye!

Reflecting.

Hello. I figured I have ignored you all to long, and should right and let you know that have not forgotten you, nor fallen under some great catastrophic blanket of unfortunate events. I'm doing perfectly fine. I've just been not in the mood to blog.

I thought I'd share some about my trip to Mozambique Africa.
Never have I seen so much joy and sadness at the same time. There are things that I've seen which made me laugh, and cry. I have seen babies crying because they are so malnourished they were bloated, and I have seen little children who live at the garbage dump, laughing and full of joy, and clamoring to get your attention to hold them, or swing them around in circles. I have seen a little boy named Faustino, who ran away from his home to live on the streets, cause his parents beat him. His only posessions were they oversized clothes he was wearing, and a broken pink backpack that had a sheet in it. I cried my eyes out cause my heart ached so much for such a little boy, who couldn't have been more then 7. He didn't even have shoes, only a pair of socks that were much to large for him. His clothes were ragged, and full of holes, and he clutched his little bag close to himself so that none of the bigger boys would take it.
I have held babies in my arms, who are now healthy, but were close to dying when they were brought to the center. Like Sina, who came to the center at 5 weeks old, weighing 3 pounds. So sick, with AIDS as many of the babies are. Now about 2 years later, she is miraculously healed from H.I.V. and is ruling the roost in the baby house. and Joao, a little boy who is a bundle of energy and fun, who was incredibly sick when he came, and had a feeding tube in his nose.
There was also Thabo, aged about 7 years old, who was litteraly skin stretched over bone, and nothing else. He was a sweet little boy, weighing maybe 20 pounds. He was brought to the center by the police, because he had AIDS, his family ignored him, and while they lived in a nice house with electricity, he lived outside on the porch, occasionaly they fed him, but not often. In October ( I think), Thabo went home to be with Jesus.
But I also saw Paulo, who is just now learning to feed himself. He is about 8 or 9 years old, and my 3 year old niece is bigger than him. I saw him stand up all by himself for the very first time. A family at our church sent leg braces for him. Now Paulo can pull himself up to standing.
And with the joy mixed with Sadness, there is Carmina, a very happy and strong little girl, who is around 6 and can't walk on her own. They think that when she was a baby she had menengitis and hadn't been treated until to late. she has practically no fine motor skills, and can't feed herself with a spoon. And she can't talk either, but she sure nose what " Carmina esto muito bonita!" ( Carmina is very pretty)means, and she got a huge smile whenever I told her that.
And all of the little kids in the baby house called me Mana Ana, and my sister Mana Cara. they thought it was halairious when I said " Nao! Meu Nome Mana Cara! Mana Ana esto minia` irma`!" I don't know which was funnier, my trying to speak Portuguese, or them laughing hystarically when I pretended to cry.
And also the girls tried to teach me Portuguese. While I definately know what cabasa, boca, lingua and narish means, I'm afraid I wasn't the best student. So, in turn, I taught them some Pig Latin, The only language besides English I am fluent at.
I cried when I had to leave, and spent most of the last flight home trying not burst into tears, cause I wasn't ready to come home yet. I hope to go back to Africa soon, cause it was so amazing!!!

Now my sister is yelling at me to get off, so good bye! I pray that 2009 will be a wonderful year for us all!
