On the Right Track - Homeschool Blogger

Using a variety of methods, mainly Charlotte Mason, I have been on this homeschool journey for 15 (official) years and counting. Hopefully, after all of this trial and error, I have something worthy to contribute to the homeschooling community. Grab a cup of coffee and pull up a chair-I tend to be wordy-and take a stroll through my homeschool blog.

Whoah! Been awhile!

Well, someone just asked what was new in my neck of the woods-hardly have had a chance to notice cuz I have been awfully busy. Betwixt the TOS reviewing, HSing, life, illnesses, working on a couple side projects and such-well, it has been a very crazy fall.

I have been nominated for 2 different categories for the HS Blog Awards, and I am very tickled to have made it to the final round-you can go to The Homeschool Post to vote for the blogs of your choice...there are quite a few awesome ones listed there.

Also-I have several, several new reviews up on my 1 of 100 (Plus 25) TOS Crew Reviews to read up on some really neat products.

I have been devoting tons of time to my workbox blog: What's in the Box? and adding lapbooks and art the kids have been working on over on my Scrapbooks and Lapbooks by Sheri too.

Always trying to get something up on my Homeschooling on a Wing and a Prayer -my main blog-so if you are looking for me-those are the places you'll find me.

Sure hope all of you have had a lovely fall and are gearing up for the holiday season without panic (like me)-LOL.

Blessings and stop by anytime!

Wow, it has been a while since I posted here

Well, sorry about that-I am trying to focus on the other blogs....

The basic goings on in our home:
This summer has flown by. Most of it has been cold, wet or cloudy-not much like summers of past. We did get away for 2 weeks to the DC and Arlington area (see what my TOS Tote did-my Homeschooling on a Wing and a Prayer blog has those posts) and were able to visit Mt. Vernon (totally recommend seeing it to anyone near there). Then our oldest son managed to break his collar bone, 2 ribs and his shoulder blade by flying thru the air with the greatest of ease, over his handlebars of his mountain bike. Praise God, he didn't break his neck. After spending 3 days in the hospital, we have all managed to get back into our normal routine (basically, last week disappeared) and are very thankful he wasn't more seriously injured (altho it was pretty bad) and that his heart has stopped throwing irregular beats and his bruised lung has healed.

I have been working on several new products (test driving them) and even have a couple new reviews posted on my 1 of 100 (plus 25) TOS Crew Review blog. Look for more coming by this month's end. Don't forget to check my What's in the Box blog, I have a couple new workbox projects listed to spur you on.

I am currently working on setting up a tentative plan for the kids school this fall (I cannot go too crazy because of the TOS products we receive-it kinda throws stuff off a bit-so I have learned to go with the flow more)...and will post what I plan on doing with the 2 of em soon (I hope).

If you want to follow our crazy lives, visit any of my blogs-there is usually something new there a few times per week.

Hope all of you are enjoying your summer!

Haven't been posting much here

Sorry about that-I am mostly on the blogspot ones. I am up to 5 of em now, so maintaining them all can be time consuming. If you haven't had a chance to visit my new blog for workboxes, please do so. Even if you are not using the system, you may get some ideas for your kiddos-and be sure to check the blog roll-lots of great bloggers there too.
Thought I would post the little critter my hubby spotted scooting across the yard yesterday before the big storm hit. He is kinda cute. We actually get lots of turtles thru our yard (maybe I will start charging a toll?) becuase for whatever reason their autopilot takes them right between our yard, and the neighbor's house. They go pretty far too, as we have figured they are layed and hatched way across the street in a depression area (gets kinda boggy and such when it rains a lot,but nothing too wet most the time-which is kinda odd because I thought they needed watery areas to lay their eggs)...guess we have some researching to do about turtles. Anyhoo-we usually spot about 10-20 a season. We have a 100 year flood plain (and due to the storm, it is very full of water right now) and a large pond behind us. Guess it is more turtle friendly than the bog area. So it seems they are hardwired to make a trip across the bog, street, and thru our yards to get to the ole pond. Hope he makes it and becomes a big turtle dude, and not anyone's lunch. We let old Columbus go after the huge, destructive storm blew over. The boy loved him and begged for us to keep him-but alas, that just isn't going to happen. We do not have very good luck with that sort of caretaking.

Ok, the one with my son and the turtle is so cute but is taking forever to load (and basically isn't) so I will post that one on my homeschooling on a wing and a prayer blog.

Blessings

Started a new blog for workbox related stuff

I started a blog just for workbox chatter; and so if you are interested in such things-please feel free to visit it for ideas, memes and resources. I have links to other blogs that discuss it as well...since this is kind of a newer program -finding such blogs is not easy, except by word of blog. Sure hope this helps you fellow workboxers out; and for those looking to see exactly what all the fuss is in regard to, sure hope it helps answers some of your questions.

What's in the Box?

Blessings!
