Our duck and chicken like wandering around the garden. But sometimes unexpected guests turn up and share their food. If it were me I would say "Thats my food, go away!" but because of their nature they happily give up their food to the galahs. The Galahs fly away if I get to close, but they never budge a feather when Sofia or Bess come up beside them.

Bat Rescue!

This is a picture of a bat we rescued today.

This morning I went outside to find Bess's egg. I walked over to the fern Bess lay's her egg in, but it wasn't there so I thought I might as well have a walk around the yard when I spotted something in the spa. I walked over to it - it looked like a mutated creature. When I got to the back door I shouted "MUM THERE'S A MUTATED THING IN THE SPA!"

She came running outside. "There it is." I said.

Mum looked at it and said "It's shivering." It was alive. Mum told Slicingman to go get the camera and me to get the garden gloves. "It's a bat." I heard her say. I ran to go get the gloves. When I got back mum put on the gloves and reached in to get it out. Slicingwingman was snapping away with the camera.

Suddenly it opened it's mouth and showed it's fangs, it made a scary noise and tried to climb up mums arm.

Slicingwingman got a box and we put some tea towels on the bottom. Mum put the bat in the box and put another teatowel on top of the box to make a cave. Then we called the RSPCA.

They put us onto a woman in Darwin who has two colonies of bats and works for the goverment. She is called the "THE BAT LADY". When mum rang her we got the answering machine. About fifteen minutes later the RSPCA rang us and said that there was a veterinary clinic near us that takes care of wild animals. So we went there with the bat and they took it in and said that they would rehabilitate it and then set it free.

When we got home the Bat Lady rang and asked lots of questions about it . We are going to E-mail her pictures of the bat so that she can identify it.

We now have high connections.(The bat lady who works for the goverment)

Hi World! Slicingwingman here! I just keep seeing them!

"Seeing what?" you might ask.

"Seeing Wedged tailed Eagles everywhere!" I would say.

UnderstoodBetsy and I just keep seeing them everywhere. UnderstoodBetsy has seen 44 and I have seen [brace yourself] 48 Eagles. As you can see in this picture the eagle has killed the kangaroo.[ If you think thats amazing just wait] The Wedged tail Eagle has a wingspan of 2 metres or 6 foot as tall as most dads [some dads are taller].

This is the same as the dead one we found in our spa. We have two more living in our house, which we do not intend feeding to Bess. One is named Yimmy Tulip and the other is named Oz.
