Cleaning house!!

Well, I am very excited! I've been wanting to get a dumpster for quite some time. My husband has a large van and can take things in it and dump it at work, but he can only take so much at a time, therefore it can take quite a while to get rid of stuff. Well, he finally agreed to get a dumpster!! We totally gutted and redid our kitchen a few weeks ago and it'll just take so long to get rid of all that demolition materials. I am thrilled!

We are wanting to put our house on the market in a couple of weeks, so this way I can also "clean" house for that as well! We have soooo much stuff that we certainly don't need. First we'll try to "recycle" it, if that doesn't work, then the to dumpster it goes! For those of you that don't know about it, there is a site called freecycle.org. You can find groups near you on it. You post anything that you are getting rid of and someone that is interested emails you and picks it up for free. It is a wonderful site! You know the old saying "My junk is somebody else's treasure!" We have posted many things on there and picked up a few items that way as well.

Hopefully we'll have a dumpster in the next few days and I will be CLEANING HOUSE!!!

Intro

I was here before, but that seems like a lifetime ago.

My name is Julie and I have a wonderful husband and three beautiful girls. Our girls all have birthdays coming up soon and will be 14, 11, 5. First, some may think, "wow, that is a large time span, I wonder if it is a second marriage." To cure your curiosity, it is the same marriage. We have been married for over 16 years. My second daughter was very dependent and I didn't think I could mentally handle having a third while she was always on me, along with I go years w/no period after a baby. Then, when we felt we were ready, the Lord didn't. It just took that long. We then wanted a 4th, (I always wanted 4 kids), but I had a miscarriage. Ever since then we both have felt we are done. I don't understand what made us go from so super happy for a 4th to the exact opposite! That miscarriage was 2 1/2 years ago. Maybe the Lord will have a different plan for us at some point, but right now, we feel that three is what we get, altho I do think of adopting at some point, or doing foster care.

Just as a 'funny', I have often said that the good Lord often gives us what we don't want so that we can grow. I always said I didn't want to be pregnant in the summer...then boom!, I had three late summer babies! In hindsight, I think I wouldn't have liked nursing a wee one on those hot summer days, so, as usual, the Lord new what was better for me! I never wanted 3 kids, always concerned about that middle child syndrome, then, what does the Lord give us, 3 kids. I think I am to grow in my mothering as I try to spend xtra time w/our middle daugher in hopes of alleviating that middle child feeling.

We have always hs'd. Our oldest every once in a while thinks of going to school, but changes her mind, which is always fine with me.

As far as what we do for hs'ing, a little of this a little of that and then a lot of nothing. We have tried Abeka, sonlight, a mixture of things, and SOS.

Our oldest likes the SOS because it is scheduled, which is something I am not good at doing, or keeping up with.

My middle is working on a site called bigiqkids.com and is really liking that. She is behind on spelling/writing and loves their spelling and vocab.

I just signed up our youngest on time4learning.com and she is really enjoying that. I may put our middle one on there as well at some point, but not yet.

I will put more on here later, but for now, my littlest is wanting me to get off so she can get on and do schoolwork! It is always nice when they WANT to do the work and not me nagging them to do it!
