:The Observations of a Reformed Guy: - Homeschool Blogger

I'm a 18 year old Christian blogger, who adores the Lord with his all. I try to use a Bible verse for all of my entries in my blog. God bless.

Something to examine

Here is something thought provoking.

1.Here is an article by John Piper supporting my beliefs: http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Seminars/1722_Why_We_Believe_the_Bible_Part_1/ . How can we prove the the Bible is completely without error. It goes something like this- "Holy Scripture, being God’s own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches: it is to be believed, as God’s instruction, in all that it affirms, obeyed, as God’s command, in all that it requires; embraced, as God’s pledge, in all that it promises." Unlike the Muslim Koran, which cannot be translated into anything else but Arabic because then it looses it's authority according to the Muslims, the Bible can be translated infinitely. This would disprove those that believe that you must read only the King James or some other translation because guess what? The New Testament was translated into Greek from Aramaic.

2. What is truth? Truth is just the opposite of a lie is it not? A lie is a twist of something that is part truth and part lie or something that is not true correct? I will say this; there are somethings in the Bible that are grey areas. I do know that there are "extremist radical" Christians, Conservative Christians, Midways, and Cold Christians. My point? There will be confrontations with believers that view things differently than you do. When you do come into contact with them you have two options

(a) you can say "ok I know that you see this differently than I do and there is nothing that I can do to change your mind"

(b) you can just chew them out.

We make great missionaries and why? Because we can come along side the lost and say "I've been there! I know what you are going through!" We live in a sinful world. I believe that if something makes a Brother or Sister in Christ fall and we know it, we should not present that thing before them (1 Corinthians 8:13). We all have our own opinions.

Before I go, if anyone posts something that outright attacks me, I will not respond. If you want to debate it, that's fine. This is my last post for a while as school starts tomorrow.

God bless.

A time for Thanksgiving

Greetings my HSB bloggers,

I have resumed blogging till Monday when we commence school again. School is doing very well. The weather has taken on a gloomy and rainy appearance lately.

Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving? In today's society, most would say it's a time to give thanks and they are right to a degree. They have taken the God part of the holiday. Though organizations like the ACLU would deny it, it was the Pilgrims that wanted to give thanks to God for their new home and for their new camaraderie with the indians. What are you thankful for and why? We need to be recollecting our thankfulness and put aside our greedy and selfish attitudes. To God be the glory!!

God bless,

School.

Well school starts for me tomorrow. I am excited about it! As it will commence, I will be focusing on school, so I will not be on HSB for that time. I have another year of high school left. I will be applying to the United States Naval Academy in April. As such I will need to be making the best grades that I possibly can. God bless,

Back

Hello! To give you a summery of the trip: great!!! Stayed up late and went to Bucsh Gardens. Well school starts next Monday. I am somewhat excited to start 11th grade. I hope that I will be as an example to the younger kids on this site: study hard and make the best grades that you can! May I be as a shining light to all that observe me. God knows my future and I trust in Him for the outcome. God bless,

Away again.

I will be taking a trip with a few church friends of mine to go see a good former church friend this week end in Virginia. Pray that we will have a great time and strengthen each other in it. My trip to Missouri was wonderful. I saw a lot of things there I would not have expected to see there.

In Him,

The good news.

Nothing came up on the MRI so that is a very good thing. His doctor said he he would still like to see him in another 2 years. Dad will have to go back in August for a CAT scan so if nothing shows up on that, praise God!

A devotional

Taking something at face value is not a good idea. Believing everything you hear isn't good either. I would say it's safe to be a Berean in every aspect of life if in doubt. If you do not know who they were, I will give a brief background on them. They were a group of people in the no later then 62 AD to 70 AD. What they did was when they heard something, they went back and researched it. Another great and wonderful thing to strive for is to learn more of Him. Delve deep into the Word! You will benefit so much from it I promise! In His service,
