My goodness it's only the 10th of October, and the snow is ever so gently falling ........
on the GREEN trees!

And this storm is supposed to turn into a doozy! So its a quiet day to just snuggle up by the stove and stay warm, listen to some radio, read some books, surf the internet and hopefully watch a movie later tonight. Brr I do not want to leave the house one tiny bit! OOPs and I just remembered that the first snow is supposed to be a day off at our school.... But its ONLY OCTOBER!!!!! They beg over my shoulder....maybe we'll just read....I'm such a softy....

Please pray for Marsha and her family as they lost their 3 year old who drowned in their pond....
Focus on the important....the REALLY important. So often we get side tracked by the urgent and the meaningless. Keep Him in the center of all.... Thanks to Suzanne for letting me know.

Also pray for our friend Carol homeschooling mother of 6 children all under 13 who just found out she has
thyroid cancer.

Mom's of Many Exercise Challenge

Boy am I late! Sorry. We've had a busy week (which will only continue as Easter approaches). We have walked everyday over lunch last week and this week as well. We are finding it a nice reconnect time for us as a couple. I have been keeping up with the exercise videos but they are starting to get old. Do you ever get past hating the exercise. I like the results. But I don't like the push. I can usually find a way to enjoy most everything I do....but this one is a struggle. All suggestions welcome. Hang in there you other mom's. Accepting a challenge that promotes Godly behavior is good for all involved. We can dooo it! "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord"

Mom's of Many Exercise Challenge

Mission of Motherhood
has issued an exercise challenge. WOOHOO! I am up for the challenge and encouragement. This is a nice complement to my plea of just a few days ago. So I hope and pray that someone will check in on me and see how I'm doing. Right now the plan goes as such:

M W F 15 min Toning video
T TH Billy Blanks "CRUNCH" video (suggestions for substitution welcome, even encouraged)
T-F & S Paper route with kids
M-F 2x around the block with dh
S&S off

So far so good for the past 3 weeks...until yesterday. We've been fighting illnesses and everybody has been sick except me. I even did papers alone (which means 45-60 min walking, normal is 15-20) for week.

I have always wanted to get my hands on this. And this particular one will be handy as that fits in with our current science studies. Thanks Mama Archer.

These are “singing science texts”. The complete program includes the text, tape or CD, and reproducible workbook. Each chapter in the text begins with a song. Memorization of scientific terms and concepts should be fairly painless as students sing such memorable lyrics.

Setting important science concepts with old, familiar tunes, they have created 18 songs teaching earth science concepts including topics such as plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, minerals, types of rocks, weathering, erosion, glaciers, groundwater, soil, and topographical maps. Melodies used include Handel’s Water Music, My Grandfather’s Clock, Shendandoah, Souza’s Washington Post March, The Boll Weevil, Wabash Cannonball, and others.

The reproducible workbook has exercises to reinforce the lyrics and textual information and ensure comprehension of the material. The first exercise in each chapter set has students fill in missing keywords from the lyrics. The second quizzes on information from the chapter. This exercise varies somewhat in format. The third exercise is in short answer/essay format and concludes with some
