Moving my blog

After much prayer and thoughts I have decided to move my blog to another place. This was a big decision for me because I really feel loyal to homeschoolblogger . The reality is though I can't use this system very well. I also do not have the time right now to take a class in blogging!
So over the next week I will be looking at new templetes and finding a new home. I'll let everyone know when it's up and running!
Be blessed,
Terri Sue

We are back!!

We got back safe and sound! We had a great trip to my mom and stepdad's. We had to travel through some terrible weather to get there though! I look forward to getting back to blogging! So far we haven't started school here at the house, just classes and field trips!
Will be by to "see"everyone!
Be blessed!

HOTM Meme: Your favorite homeschool moment

To come up with one favorite moment isn't possible! My favorite part is the whole journey. I love the times when you know B has finally got it! I love the times when we stop to just talk about life. I even love the times when things aren't going well because we are going through them together.

My most favorite time of our homeschool day is Bible time. B challenges his dad and I with his questions and comments. He is a deep thinker and sometimes days later he will comment on a passage we have read and you know then he has been thinking and pondering! I can't even imagine not being able to share those moments.

My most favorite thing that B has ever said was "Reading's not so bad Mom". I heard that for the first time this year, five years after we started homeschooling! It was a long time coming for me but worth every part of the journey to get there!

Go on over to HOTM to read more great stories!
Be blessed!

Organized or Not--- Swap and Hop

Organized or Not--- Swap and Hop
Lysa is hosting this great way to share organizational tips! Go over and have a ball!
The two things that have been a tremendous help to me this year are the following:
Our son's student planner that my friend Christy made for him. She creates planners, some especially for Tapestry of Grace users. Our son loves knowing what is expected of him everyday.
!

My desk and purse calendar

Life has become so much simpler since I started using both! I don't double book myself as much as I used to! I fought being so organized for years but now I love it!
As for where I hide things, mostly just upstairs! I have been known to put dirty dishes in the oven if the dishwasher was full and I didn't have time to run it! Be careful not to turn the oven on before you take them out though! That's another story!
Be blessed!

BFS #18: Dreams

Nancy, over at The King's Kreation has this challenge: I thought this week we could write something fun or just take a look back at our lives and what we wanted to do when we were so young!
When I was growing up I planned to be the next great western writer! My favorite western writer is Louis L'Amour and I cried when he died! Here is a picture of one of my favorites of his books.

I probably have read this book over 50 times!
I decided to homeschool way before I was married! I didn't like the public school system when I went and I wasn't about to let my children go there! I remember telling my then boyfriend, E, that if we ever got married he had better realize that we would homeschool our children! How's that for boldness! He married me anyway and 14 years later we were blessed with our son. Six years after that we began our official homeschool journey! B our son) tells us now he's going to college on the internet!
I do know that I would never had reached the place I am today if I hadn't submitted to God and let Him lead my paths. Here's my verse for the week!
Psalm 25:4-5
Show me your ways, O LORD,
       teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

Weblink Wednesday: Speech

Today I thought I would share some sites that have to do with writing and speech making. I have not fully checked out ever site as of right now. This is my project for the summer because I will be teaching a speech class next year for our local homeschool kids!
Suzy's writing Corner has great steps for writing here!
http://teacher.scholastic.com/writewit/speech/index.htm I have not used this site
Jeannie Fulbright has a great ebook called Speak Up! I tried to have the link here but they are doing maintance on their site today! This book is my spine for the class I will teach.
http://www.greensburg.k12.in.us/teacher/leachcarla/SpeechCurriculum.htm a teacher's outline
If anyone has other sites to share about this subject, please leave me a comment!
Be blessed!

Rain! Gully Washers!

Have you ever heard the term "gully washer" when it rained! Well' since moving to the Hill Country of Texas I have learned to appreciate the saying! When it rains, it really comes down!

This picture doesn't even do justice to how hard it's coming down! We are staying home today!
By the way, I actually found a definition of gully washer!

Chiefly Southern term for a heavy rainstorm.
They say the rain's movin' in, from the looks of it I'd say it's gonna be a real gullywasher.
We've had our vocabulary for the day!
Be blessed!
