Dad's First Words

My daughter Beth is urging me on to "say something", much like I did with her oh, about 15 years ago. (I do recall her being somewhat more verbal back in the day) She fears that my blog vocabulary is rather primitive...okay, so it's really non-existent. So where do I begin? I'm like that drooling diaper-filled infant-toddler creature -- tilting to and fro and about to go down (face first) while making some gurgling utterance that my parents will be utterly amazed at. "Did you hear that? I think he said...You're such a smart boy!"

That was long ago. Now I'm not feeling so much like that intellectual giant my parents saw in me. I have no clue in this strange new world of blogging. It was only by accident that I got this set-up, thinking I had to have one to post a comment on daughter #1's (that would be Toni) blog. Who knew that only 72 hours later I would be at it myself.

Fortunately I have 3 blogging daughters to show me the way to go. And, it appears that for the first time in Beth's life, she is proud of her father. (pass the kleenex). She has my blogging backside and has already "set my blog up right" eliminating the mundane details of my life that I ignorantly included in the initial sign-up process (social security number, home address, 11th grade locker combination, etc.).

Thank you, Beth, for your timely intervention. Hopefully I will not continue to be such a burden and drain.

So here I am. Home school blogger-dad, yada yada, yada.
