<description>Today was a BIG day in our family's life!&amp;nbsp; James left this afternoon with our church youth group for a mission trip to inner city Miami.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; They will be working with the DOOR organization while there.&amp;nbsp; &quot;Activities of the week may include working alongside migrants in the field or engaging in recreational and learning activities with their children; interaction with homeless people at a homeless shelter by serving food or singing with them; sorting donated food or clothing at a redistribution center; lawn and building maintenance for individuals; walking through various city neighborhoods; meeting with and listening to groups who are working for change in the city. There will also be times for reflection on the events of the day. &quot; (from the DOOR website)
&amp;nbsp; James is very excited about this opportunity &amp;amp; we are excited for him!&amp;nbsp; It's the first time that he's been&amp;nbsp;away from home for an extended period of time without a family member!&amp;nbsp; He's also without a form form communication!&amp;nbsp; NO ELECTRONICS ALLOWED!&amp;nbsp; Yikes!&amp;nbsp; For ME&amp;nbsp;that means that I can't call him on his cell phone at&amp;nbsp;the end of the day to check up on him!&amp;nbsp; For him that means NO IPod!&amp;nbsp; Not to worry...&amp;nbsp; most of the chaperones are friends of mine &amp;amp; as adults THEY have their cell phones &amp;amp; my number!&amp;nbsp; Their cell numbers are now on my speed dial!&amp;nbsp; LOL&amp;nbsp; I'm sure that the entire group will have a great time &amp;amp; learn alot!&amp;nbsp; For James it's one looooong field trip!&amp;nbsp;

<title>Sea World with Science Partners</title>
<description>We took a GREAT Sea World field trip in April with Mr. Bill Clifton from Science Partners!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; He &amp;amp; his wife, Marilee,&amp;nbsp;led our homeschool group through Sea World sharing how God reviels himself through creation.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; It wasn't ALL about the animals either!&amp;nbsp; The kids also&amp;nbsp;learned about the plant life around the park, and the importance of water conservation.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; This was a great trip for ALL ages.&amp;nbsp; Mr. Clifton was great at conveying his lesson to Luke (6) as well as James (14) and everyone in between!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The ONE and ONLY problem with this trip was that it was the week before Easter which is a insanely busy week at central Florida theme parks!

<title>Time with JUST Luke</title>
<description>Today is Luke's 6th birthday. Two weeks ago James &amp;amp; Kirk went to spend time with my mom on Florida's west coast. &amp;nbsp; It gave Luke &amp;amp; me a chance to spend some time together.&amp;nbsp; Here are a few pictures of our afternoon at Sea World.

Luke wanted to sit close!

So, we sat in the SOAK ZONE!

In the SECOND row!
&amp;nbsp;

Luke got SOAKED!

I covered with a poncho &amp;amp; stayed fairly dry!

After the show,

Luke&amp;nbsp;played at Shamu's Happy Harbor.

Then we rode some of the kid rides.

There's a NEW carousel with an under the sea theme!

Take my picture mom!

One last picture on the way out of the park!</description>

<title>Catching Up!</title>
<description>&amp;nbsp; I'm taking advantage of some of the time &quot;off&quot; this summer to catch up on some of the trips that we took this past&amp;nbsp;year.&amp;nbsp; We don't actually take the whole summer off.&amp;nbsp; In fact, James is working on math right now.&amp;nbsp; We like to get as much work done in the summer as possible, so that when the weather is cooler in the fall &amp;amp; spring we can enjoy it!&amp;nbsp; Right now it SOOO hot out in Florida that I have to push them out the door even to go in the pool!
